The Indians reinstated Carrasco (illness) from the 60-day injured list Sunday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

As expected, Carrasco will be reinstated to the active roster for the first time since early June after being diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia. After responding well to treatment, Carrasco was cleared for a rehab assignment in August and was stellar over four relief appearances, tossing five scoreless frames and striking out eight. He didn't have enough time to build up for a starter's workload, but Carrasco should emerge as a useful late-inning weapon out of the Cleveland bullpen for the rest of the regular season and playoffs.

The Tigers selected Garcia's contract from Triple-A Toledo ahead of Sunday's game against the Twins.

Before missing nearly 18 months after requiring Tommy John surgery in 2017, Garcia had been one of the Tigers' more impressive power arms in the upper levels of the minors. Now healthy again, Garcia emerged as a strong arm at the back end of the Toledo bullpen, posting a 2.97 ERA and 33:14 K:BB in 33.1 innings. He could quickly gain traction in a late-inning role out of a Detroit bullpen that's otherwise lacking in impact arms.

Toronto designated Ramirez for assignment Sunday.

The 30-year-old righty reliever was bumped off the 40-man roster to make room for another bullpen arm in Ryan Tepera (elbow), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list. Over 22 appearances between the Indians and Blue Jays this season, Ramirez has posted a 5.40 ERA and 1.64 WHIP across 25 innings.

The Twins placed Gibson on the 10-day injured list Sunday after he was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis.

Minnesota hasn't revealed a timeline for Gibson's return to baseball activities while he tends to the inflammatory bowel condition. With Gibson at least unavailable for his upcoming start Wednesday in Boston, the Twins will likely to turn to one of a pair of September callups, Devin Smeltzer or Lewis Thorpe, to take the hill or opt to fill the right-hander's spot in the rotation with a bullpen game.

Milone didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Rangers, giving up one run on three hits and a walk over five innings while striking out four.

The southpaw threw 54 of 81 pitches for strikes and was in line for his fourth win of the year after the Mariners took a 2-1 lead in the top of the sixth inning while he was still the pitcher of record, but Matt Magill blew the save in the ninth. Milone will carry a 4.90 ERA and 80:19 K:BB through 93.2 innings into his next outing -- whether as a starter or primary pitcher behind an opener -- Friday in Houston.

Bundy didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Royals, giving up four runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks over six innings while striking out seven.

The right-hander wasn't exactly sharp, but he did just enough to qualify for his ninth quality start of the season. Bundy will carry a 4.96 ERA and 138:48 K:BB through 138 innings into his next outing Thursday, at home against the Rangers.

Perez (9-6) allowed eight runs (seven earned) on nine hits with two walks and four strikeouts across just 2.2 innings while taking the loss against the Tigers on Saturday.

The veteran had an inning to forget during the third. The Tigers sent 11 hitters to the plate against Perez, and the only batter he got out was Gordon Beckham twice. This is the second time in the last five starts that Perez yielded seven earned runs in a start. Fortunately, he rebounded well after his last seven-run outing, but Perez will have to do it again to get his ERA back below 4.50. Perez owns a 4.89 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 120 strikeouts in 141.2 innings this season.

Boyd (7-10) struck out 11 but allowed five runs on six hits with one walk to earn a victory against the Twins on Saturday.

Boy, talk about a mixed bag. Boyd punched out 11 hitters, which is his most in nearly two months, but he also tied a season high by allowing four homers. Furthermore, he won. This is basically a microcosm of his 2019 season, as Boyd has yielded 36 home runs and struck out 219 batters with a 4.58 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 165 innings this year. Boyd will pitch next at the Royals on Thursday.

Valdez (4-7) allowed six runs on nine hits with three walks and five strikeouts across 5.2 innings while taking a loss against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

The 25-year-old again displayed shaky control but even worse, he gave up a pair of home runs and a season-high nine hits. Valdez avoided giving up more than a run in his last outing despite five walks, but it's possible he won't receive another MLB start right away after this latest struggle. Valdez owns a 5.55 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 58 strikeouts in 61.2 innings across 22 appearances, including seven starts, this season.

German allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision against the A's on Saturday.

The only real blemish was a two-run homer allowed to Matt Olson in the fourth inning. German got 15 called strikes and 11 swinging strikes on 90 pitches and has now allowed three earned runs or fewer in 19 of his 24 appearances this season. He is 8-1 in 11 starts since returning from a hip injury in July. Up next is a road start in Boston.
