He threw 113 pitches, tied for the third-most he's thrown in a game this season. In three August starts, the 26-year-old owns an unsightly 14:12 K:BB and 5.60 ERA over 17.2 innings. Things could get easier for Rodriguez on Sunday at home against the Orioles.

Paxton (8-6) allowed three runs on five hits with two walks and seven strikeouts across six innings while earning a victory against the Orioles on Monday.

Since just before the All-Star break, Paxton has been excellent in the strikeout category, posting 53 punchouts in his last 38 innings. Paxton has also won three straight outings and owns a 2.89 ERA during that stretch. He has a 4.40 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 137 strikeouts in 108.1 innings this season. Paxton will look to continue this hot streak in his next start Saturday at home against the Indians.

Snell (elbow) played catch for the first time since undergoing elbow surgery Monday and fared well, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Snell remains optimistic that he'll be back to throwing off a mound by September, though a timetable for his return should become more clear as he gets further into his throwing program. He made approximately 25 throws from 45-to-6o feet in his initial flat ground session.

Cease won't make his scheduled start Monday against the Astros, as the game as been postponed due to inclement weather.

Following Monday's postponement, the White Sox have announced that Cease will take the hill for Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader. Ivan Nova is set to pitch the nightcap.

Severino (shoulder) will throw one more bullpen session Thursday before advancing to face live hitters Sunday, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.

He felt strong after Monday's bullpen session and reported no physical issues. The ball apparently continues to come out a little better than expected, given how long he has been out. Assuming Severino returns this season, he is expected to fill a relief role.

Civale allowed one run on four hits in six innings Sunday, striking out five while not factoring in the decision during the win over the Twins.

In three starts to begin his MLB career, Civale owns an 18:4 K:BB with a minuscule 1.00 ERA over 18 frames. The 24-year-old allowed an RBI sacrifice fly in the second inning but kept Minnesota's bats fairly quiet the rest of the day. With the way he's pitched so far, Civale should stick around in the rotation at least until Corey Kluber (forearm) returns from the injured list. Assuming that's the case, the right-handed rookie will get a tough road test against the Yankees on Friday.

Berrios got in trouble early Sunday, allowing two runs in the first frame, including a solo shot by Greg Allen. He was in line for the loss but got bailed out by his team's ninth-inning rally to send it to extras. The 25-year-old entered August with a 2.80 ERA, but it now sits at 3.29 after he's allowed 12 runs in 11.2 innings this month. Berrios will face the Rangers in Texas on Saturday looking for his 11th win.

Bassitt (8-5) allowed four hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings Sunday, striking out seven and earning the win against the White Sox.

Bassitt was in a groove all afternoon, allowing just one extra-base hit in seven spotless frames. Over his last three starts, the 30-year-old has given up just two runs over 19 innings, lowering his ERA to 3.56 on the year. Bassitt will get a tough test at home on Saturday against the Astros.
