Faedo was placed on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Erie with a back strain.

With only a month left in the minor-league season, this may mean that Faedo is done for the year. He has really bounced back this season after underwhelming in 2018. Faedo has a 4.01 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 130:25 K:BB in 112.1 innings (21 starts).

Allard didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Brewers, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks over 4.1 innings while striking out seven.

The strikeouts are encouraging, as was the fact that he didn't serve up any home runs in a tough venue at Miller Park, but Allard's debut with Texas wasn't exactly dazzling -- the young lefty threw only 57 of 93 pitches for strikes and exited the game in line for a loss. The performance was likely good enough to keep him in the rotation, though, and Allard will line up to make his next start Wednesday in Toronto.

Bieber (12-4) struck out 11 and picked up the win in Friday's 6-2 victory over the Twins, giving up two runs on seven hits and two walks over seven innings.

The right-hander did get tagged for a couple of solo homers, but otherwise Bieber was dominant once again. Over his last eight trips to the mound he's delivered seven quality starts -- including two complete games -- going 6-1 with a 2.40 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 71:9 K:BB over 60 innings. Bieber will look to keep rolling in his next outing Wednesday, at home against the Red Sox.

Bundy (5-12) allowed two runs on five hits with one walk and six strikeouts across six innings while taking a loss against the Astros on Friday.

For the second straight start, Bundy has yielded just two runs, and as a result, his ERA is on the verge of dropping back below the 5.00 mark. That's the sugarcoated version of Bundy's pitching lately; he's also 1-2 with a 6.57 ERA in his last five starts. Overall, he owns a 5.04 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 118 strikeouts in 114.1 innings this season. Bundy will pitch next against the Yankees on the road next Wednesday.

Miley (11-4) allowed one run on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts across 5.2 innings while earning a victory against the Orioles on Friday.

The only run he yielded came on a solo homer. This was Miley's fifth straight decision with a win, and in those five victories, he's yielded just two home runs. Miley has 11 wins and owns 2.99 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 116 strikeouts in 138.1 innings this season, and his next start will come Wednesday on the road against the White Sox.

Gonzales left Friday's game against the Rays after taking a comebacker off his left leg, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports. He allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out nine over 6.1 innings prior to exiting.

The severity of Gonzales' injury is unknown, though he did fire 98 pitches prior to exiting, so that may have been played a role in Seattle's decision to remove him from the contest. He'll be considered day-to-day until more details emerge.

Keller (7-12) was hit with the loss after yielding five runs on 10 hits and three walks while striking out six over six innings Friday night against the Tigers.

Keller surrendered two runs in the first inning followed by one in the fifth and two more in the sixth before exiting with a four-run deficit. He threw 65 of 108 pitches for strikes but fired first-pitch strikes to only eight of the 29 batters he faced. The 24-year-old right-hander has now been saddled with three straight losses, and he owns a 4.09 ERA with 112 punchouts over 152 innings this season.

Whitley (shoulder) will make another start for Double-A Corpus Christi on Friday.

The right-hander fared well in his first rehab start for Corpus Christi on Aug. 4, allowing one run on two hits and two walks while striking out five over four innings against Midland. Whitley has been slowly working his way back from a bout of shoulder fatigue, which sidelined him initially in late May. It's not out of the question that we could still see Whitley with the big club in September, but he's not on the 40-man roster, and the Astros may very well decide they're set without Whitley this season.

Canning (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Canning landed on the 10-day injured list with elbow inflammation August 4. If all goes well Saturday, he could return to the rotation soon thereafter. The rookie right-hander has posted a 4-6 record along with a 4.76 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 79.1 innings this season.

Severino (lat) threw 23 pitches off a mound Friday, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

Severino threw primarily fastballs in the brief session but also mixed in some changeups and sliders. It was his first time throwing off a mound since March. Assuming his rehab goes well, Severino could make his return to the majors sometime in September.
