Justin Verlander SP | DET
Astros' Justin Verlander: Serves up three homers
Verlander (9-3) took the loss Tuesday versus the Reds, surrendering four runs on six hits across seven innings. He struck out eight and walked one.
It's only the third time all season Verlander has given up more than three runs in a start, and it's also the third time he's allowed three home runs. The 36-year-old continues to mostly overwhelm hitters and has an impressive 2.59 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 133:20 K:BB, but the 20 homers given up through 15 starts puts him on pace to crush his career-worst mark of 30. Next up for Verlander is an exciting matchup Sunday at Yankee Stadium.

Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Handed tough loss
Stroman (4-9) took the loss Tuesday against the Angels after giving up three runs on four hits over seven innings. He struck out three and walked one.
Stroman served up two solo homer in the fifth inning and had an inherited runner score during the eighth after he was pulled from the game. The 28-year-old pitched well but couldn't avoid the loss with the Blue Jays mustering only three hits. Stroman will carry a 3.23 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 71:29 K:BB into Sunday's start at Boston.

Mike Clevinger RP | PIT
Indians' Mike Clevinger: Hoping to pitch Saturday
The Indians hope Clevinger (ankle) will be able to pitch Saturday versus the Tigers, Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Clevinger suffered an ankle injury in Monday's start and showed up Tuesday with a discolored and swollen left ankle. The team tentatively expects the 28-year-old to pitch Saturday, but there should be a better idea of his availability after he plays catch Wednesday.

Jordan Montgomery RP | TEX
Yankees' Jordan Montgomery: Suffers setback during side session
Montgomery (elbow) felt "a little discomfort" during Tuesday's bullpen session in Tampa, Coley Harvey of ESPN.com reports.
Montgomery was unable to complete his side session, as he tossed just 15 pitches before walking off the mound. He's likely headed for further evaluation to determine the next step in his rehab.

Tyler Glasnow SP | LAD
Rays' Tyler Glasnow: Successful bullpen session
Glasnow (forearm) was surprised at how good he felt after Tuesday's bullpen session, and thinks he will throw another bullpen session Friday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
He only threw fastballs, but the session went off without a hitch. It is unclear what the next step will be, but it sounds like he will need at least one more bullpen session where he possibly incorporates his curveball. Glasnow will need a rehab assignment at some point before returning to the big-league rotation, so it seems unlikely that he is back until after the All-Star break.

Domingo German SP | PIT
Yankees' Domingo German: Resumes throwing
German (hip) played catch Monday and is set to do so again Tuesday, Coley Harvey of ESPN.com reports.
German was able to play catch for the first time since suffering a left hip strain, and he also noted that he is no longer experiencing any pain following a cortisone injection. Assuming Tuesday's throwing session is successful, expect German to continue to progress through a throwing program and ramp up his baseball activities.

Luis Severino SP | ATH
Yankees' Luis Severino: Nearing return to mound
Severino (lat) is scheduled to throw from 105 feet Tuesday, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.
Severino is slowly advancing through his throwing progression, and if all goes well, he could be throwing off a mound either June 25 or 26, per Randy Miller of The Newark Star-Ledger. Considering he's been on the injured list for the entire 2019 campaign, he'll likely need a lengthy stay in the minors prior to being activated. Severino is currently targeting a return sometime in July.

Jose Suarez RP | ATH
Angels' Jose Suarez: Another start on tap
Suarez is listed as the Angels' probable pitcher for Thursday's game against the Blue Jays.
Though Trevor Cahill (elbow) resumed a throwing program over the weekend, the Angels apparently aren't expecting him to be ready to return from the 10-day injured list when a fifth starter is required again Thursday. As a result, Suarez will stick in the rotation for his fourth consecutive start. Manager Brad Ausmus has been reluctant to allow the rookie to work deep into games -- the lefty has maxed out at 5.2 innings in his three starts -- but he's been a serviceable back-end arm thus far with a 4.50 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. Suarez could make for an appealing streaming option again this week while taking on one of the majors' weaker offenses.

Tyler Glasnow SP | LAD
Rays' Tyler Glasnow: Next bullpen set
Glasnow (forearm) will throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Glasnow enjoyed a successful bullpen session Saturday, one in which he exclusively threw fastballs. The right-hander is working closely with pitching coach Kyle Snyder and bullpen coach Stan Boroski during his recovery, with both providing Glasnow key feedback during his sessions. If all goes well Tuesday, Glasnow could soon face live hitters as a next step.

Tommy Milone SP | SEA
Mariners' Tommy Milone: Solid effort as primary pitcher
Milone threw 6.1 innings as the primary pitcher against the Royals on Monday, giving up one earned run on three hits over 6.1 innings, striking out six and walking none as the Mariners lost 6-4. He didn't factor into the decision.
Milone put in another good performance as the primary pitcher, but he wouldn't get the win as Anthony Bass blew the save after giving up an eighth-inning two-run homer to Jorge Soler. It remains to be seen if the Mariners continue to use him in this role, but Milone's numbers on the season are solid so far, as he's now sporting a 3.03 ERA, a 0.89 WHIP and a 32:5 K:BB over 32.2 innings.
