Brad Keller RP | PHI
Royals' Brad Keller: Takes loss despite quality start
Keller (3-7) coughed up three runs on nine hits in seven innings Sunday, striking out six and taking the loss to the Rangers.
Keller had danced around danger early, allowing just one run through four innings despite giving up six hits. He then yielded two more runs in the fifth and escaped further damage with an inning-ending double play. On a positive note, it was Keller's first start without a walk in 2019. Unfortunately, he still owns an unsightly 54:42 K:BB and 4.50 ERA. Keller will face the White Sox at home Saturday.

Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX
Red Sox's Nathan Eovaldi: Throws bullpen session
Eovaldi (elbow) completed a bullpen session Sunday and is expected to throw a simulated game Tuesday in Kansas City, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.
After completing a simulated game Friday, Eovaldi was expected to take it easy Sunday and just play catch, but he ended up throwing off the mound in what amounted to a more intense workout. The Red Sox haven't outlined a specific timeline for his return from arthroscopic elbow surgery, but based on where the right-hander is currently at in his throwing program, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe speculates that Eovaldi could be ready to return from the 10-day injured list as soon as June 15.

Jose Suarez RP | ATH
Angels' Jose Suarez: Recalled for Sunday's start
The Angels recalled Suarez from Triple-A Salt Lake ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Mariners.
Reliever John Curtiss was optioned to Triple-A to clear a spot on the active roster for the 21-year-old, who will be making his MLB debut. The Angels haven't revealed whether Suarez will be in store for additional turns beyond Sunday or if his insertion into the rotation is merely a means of building in an extra day of rest for the team's other five starters. It's possible that a strong showing from Suarez could prompt the Angels to go with a six-man rotation moving forward or swap him into a five-man setup in place of the struggling Trevor Cahill, who is sporting a 6.92 ERA and 1.37 WHIP this season.

Justin Verlander SP | DET
Astros' Justin Verlander: Fans eight in ninth win
Verlander (9-2) picked up the win in Saturday's 5-1 victory over the A's, giving up one run on four hits and two walks over eight innings while striking out eight.
A solo shot by Stephen Piscotty in the second inning was the only blemish on Verlander's night. The right-hander now has 11 quality starts on the year, including five straight, and he's in rarefied territory on the all-time strikeouts list -- Saturday's performance moved him past Cy Young into 21st place with 2,809 career K's. Up next on the list: Mike Mussina at 2,813 strikeouts and a spot in the top 20, a feat Verlander should achieve Thursday in Seattle.

Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Quality start at Coors
Stroman (3-7) took the loss Saturday as the Blue Jays fell 4-2 to the Rockies, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits over seven innings while striking out two.
The right-hander wasn't dominant, but he pitched well enough to win a game at Coors Field, only for Toronto's bats to go mostly quiet. Stroman now has eight quality starts on the year, including four in his last five trips to the mound -- a stretch during which he has a 2.67 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 18:8 K:BB through 30.1 innings. He'll try to keep things rolling in his next outing Friday, at home against Arizona.

Domingo German SP | PIT
Yankees' Domingo German: Struggles through 3.2 innings
German gave up three runs on six hits and two walks over 3.2 innings in Saturday's win over the Red Sox. He struck out eight but did not qualify for the victory.
German labored for his second consecutive start as he threw 87 pitches Saturday and was unable to complete the fourth inning. The 26-year-old has a 3.66 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 71:18 K:BB through 11 starts and figures to pitch at Cleveland next weekend.

Tommy Milone SP | SEA
Mariners' Tommy Milone: Fails to finish fifth inning
Milone gave up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks across 4.1 innings in a 6-3 loss to the Angels on Saturday. He struck out six but did not factor in the decision.
Milone ran into trouble during the first inning, when he served up a two-run shot to Albert Pujols, and he ended up needing 96 pitches to record only 13 outs. The 32-year-old has pitched well enough in his three starts, with a 3.60 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 19:4 K:BB over 15 innings, but he has a tough matchup versus the Astros on Thursday.

Andrew Heaney RP | LAD
Angels' Andrew Heaney: Fans 10 in quality start
Heaney struck out 10 and gave up three runs on five hits over six innings in a 6-3 win over the Mariners. He did not walk a batter or factor in the decision.
Heaney dominated Seattle's lineup with the exception of one hitter, as Edwin Encarnacion accounted for all three runs with a pair of homers. It was still a productive outing for the left-hander, who exhibited good control by delivering first-pitch strikes to 17 of the 23 batters he faced. Heaney has allowed five runs and has a 18:1 K:BB over his first two starts, and he lines up to face the Mariners again next weekend.

Nestor Cortes SP | PHI
Yankees' Nestor Cortes: Returns to Triple-A
Cortes was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Saturday's win over the Red Sox.
Cortes rejoined the Yankees last week and fired five scoreless frames over two appearances but will nonetheless return to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with CC Sabathia (knee) set to come off the injured list. The 24-year-old has a 4.91 ERA and 1.64 WHIP this season, but he looked much improved during his second stint in the majors.

Lance Lynn SP | STL
Rangers' Lance Lynn: Wins seventh game
Lynn struck out seven and got the win over the Royals on Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits and zero walks over 6.1 innings.
The veteran ran out of gas starting in the fifth. During the first four innings, no Royals baserunner reached scoring position, but then Kansas City had runners touch at least second base in the fifth, sixth and seventh against the right-hander. Still, Lynn only allowed runs in the fifth and continued to keep the ball in the park. Over his last four starts, Lynn has yielded zero home runs and struck out 33 over 26.1 innings. He is 7-4 with a 4.50 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 77 strikeouts in 74 innings this season. Lynn is expected to face the Athletics in his next start Friday.
