Matthew Boyd SP | CHC
Tigers' Matthew Boyd: Throws six scoreless in no-decision
Boyd didn't factor into the decision against the Marlins on Thursday despite throwing six scoreless innings, giving up five hits, striking out seven and walking one as the Tigers eventually lost 5-2.
Boyd was in line for a win, but closer Shane Greene wound up getting tagged with a blown save after the Marlins struck for all five of their runs in the ninth inning, all unearned. The 28-year-old is still off to a strong start to the season, as he's sporting a 3.11 ERA, a 1.01 WHIP and an excellent 80:14 K:BB while holding opponents to a .214 batting average over 66.2 innings.

Neil Ramirez RP | CLE
Indians' Neil Ramirez: Outrighted to Triple-A
Ramirez was outrighted to Triple-A Columbus.
He passed through waivers unclaimed and will head to Triple-A to serve as organizational bullpen depth.

Corey Kluber SP | BOS
Indians' Corey Kluber: Cast removed
Kluber (forearm) had his cast removed Thursday, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports.
This is a positive development in Kluber's recovery from a non-displaced fracture of his right forearm. Now it becomes a waiting game for the fracture to fully heal, at which point Kluber will begin a throwing progression. He will be re-evaluated in two weeks, according to Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal, at which time a clearer timetable for his return could emerge.

Nestor Cortes SP | PHI
Yankees' Nestor Cortes: Back in majors
The Yankees recalled Cortes from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre ahead of Thursday's game against the Orioles.
Cortes was optioned to Triple-A two days earlier, but he'll be able to return from the minors before the minimum 10 days since CC Sabathia (knee) was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move. While Cortes likely won't be counted on for much high-leverage work while he's up with the big club, he could be asked to eat some innings Friday in Kansas City in what's expected to be a bullpen game for the Yankees.

Gerrit Cole SP | NYY
Astros' Gerrit Cole: Gives up six runs in loss
Cole (4-5) gave up six runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out seven through five innings, taking the loss to the White Sox on Wednesday.
Cole gave up two solo home runs early and ran into trouble in the top of the sixth inning, allowing two runs and two baserunners before being removed without recording an out. Josh James went on to surrender a grand slam to Charlie TIlson, allowing both of the runs to score. Despite the rough outing, the 13 swinging strikes and limited free passes suggest he will bounce back. The right-hander has a 4-5 record with a 4.11 ERA and 100:17 K:BB through 11 starts this season. Cole will make his next start Monday against the Cubs.

Frankie Montas RP | NYM
Athletics' Frankie Montas: Tosses six shutout frames
Montas (6-2) threw six shutout innings with nine strikeouts, allowing five hits and two walks to earn a victory against the Indians on Wednesday.
For the fifth straight start, Montas has dropped his season ERA, which is an incredible feat considering it sat at 3.10 just five outings ago. During this stretch, Montas did allow seven runs against the Red Sox on April 29, but six of them were unearned. Therefore, over his last 31 innings, he's yielded only six earned runs. He's also struck out 26 hitters in the last 20.2 frames. Overall, Montas is 6-2 with a 2.40 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 61 strikeouts in 60 innings this season. He will make his next start against the Angels on Tuesday.

Martin Perez SP | ATL
Twins' Martin Perez: Wednesday's game postponed
Perez won't make his scheduled start Wednesday against the Angels since the game was postponed due to unplayable field conditions, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
The rain had stopped by the time the game was supposed to start, but the field was still deemed unplayable due to the water. The game was rescheduled for Thursday afternoon, so Perez's outing should only be delayed by one day.

Brad Keller RP | PHI
Royals' Brad Keller: Earns third win
Keller (3-5) allowed two earned runs on two hits and four walks while striking out three across seven innings to earn the win in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.
Keller got strong results in his start, allowing only two earned runs after the bullpen failed to strand two inherited runners in the eighth inning. Despite the strong results, Keller wasn't particularly impressive as he walked more batters than he struck out and generated just four swinging strikes on 105 total pitches. Still, this outing was Keller's longest since Opening Day and his first quality start since April 12 -- a span of six outings. He'll look to build off this effort in his next start, currently scheduled for Monday at the White Sox.
-
Marco Gonzales RP | TEX
Mariners' Marco Gonzales: Seven strong innings
Gonzales (5-4) allowed two runs (one earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out three across seven innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Rangers.
Gonzales allowed a solo home run to Hunter Pence in the sixth inning to account for his only earned run of the game. While he wasn't dominant in terms of strikeouts, Gonzalez controlled the zone well by beginning 19 of the 27 batters he faced with a strike and finding the zone with 58 of his 81 total pitches. After he failed to complete more than five innings in three of his prior four starts, this long outing was needed for Gonzales. He'll look to build off this performance in his next start, which is currently scheduled for Tuesday against Texas.

Luis Severino SP | ATH
Yankees' Luis Severino: Slowly ramping up
Severino (lat) could resume playing catch Monday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
He has already been ruled out through the All-Star break, so this isn't necessarily actionable, but it's good to know he is at least progressing. The Yankees have weathered his absence quite well, getting excellent early season performances from Domingo German and CC Sabathia.
