Gonzales (neck) threw a successful 25-pitch bullpen Monday, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Cleared for Monday's start
Stroman (finger) will be activated from the 10-day disabled list to start Monday's game against the Rays.
Expect the Blue Jays to make Stroman's reinstatement official a few hours prior to the 7:07 p.m. EDT opening pitch. Stroman has been on the shelf for a little over two weeks due to a recurrence of a blister on his right middle finger, but he was cleared to rejoin the rotation after completing a bullpen session over the weekend without incident. Prior to hitting the shelf with his latest setback, Stroman was sidelined with shoulder fatigue earlier in the summer, resulting in a six-week absence.

Rays' Yonny Chirinos: Slated for bulk of work Monday
Chirinos is slated to cover the bulk of innings after "bullpen day" opener Ryne Stanek exits Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The right-hander scuffled over his last three appearances of August, allowing 13 runs (10 earned) across 16 innings. He's been utilized in a long-relief role during that stretch, a pattern that's expected to continue for the duration of the regular season.

Mariners' Marco Gonzales: Bullpen officially confirmed
Gonzales (neck) had a pain-free catch session Sunday and his bullpen session Monday is now officially confirmed, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
The young lefty had been on track for a bullpen Monday, but he needed to emerge from Sunday's catch session without setbacks. That ended up coming to pass, so Gonzales will get on the mound for the next step in his recovery. "If that goes well, we'll have a better idea where that leads us," manager Scott Servais said. "I'm much more encouraged based on what the trainers have told me the last couple days. And his arm is fine. There's no issues with that. We'll see how he feels when he gets on the slope."

Matthew Boyd SP | CHC
Tigers' Matt Boyd: Submits quality outing in Bronx
Boyd (9-12) allowed three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out six over six innings as he secured the victory Sunday against the Yankees.
Boyd allowed two runs in the first inning and another in the fourth, but he managed to exit the ballgame with a five-run lead. The 27-year-old has been inconsistent over his previous four starts, going 2-2 with 12 runs allowed and 23 punchouts through 24.1 frames. Boyd's next start is slated for Saturday against St. Louis.

Lance Lynn SP | STL
Yankees' Lance Lynn: Rocked for six runs vs. Tigers
Lynn (8-10) allowed six runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out six over 3.2 innings as he took the loss Sunday against Detroit.
Lynn got off to a poor start, as he surrendered a run in the first inning, one in the second and four in the fourth prior to being pulled from his outing. He threw 52 of 82 pitches for strikes in what turned out to be a short appearance. The 38-year-old has struggled in his previous four performances, giving up 19 runs over 18.2 frames while striking out 22. Lynn will look to turn things around his next time through the rotation, which figures to come Saturday against Seattle.

Gerrit Cole SP | NYY
Astros' Gerrit Cole: Strikes out nine
Cole (13-5) allowed two earned runs on six hits and three walks while striking out nine across 5.2 innings to earn the win Sunday against the Angels.
Cole turned in another strong start, relying on 20 swinging strikes to push ahead of teammate Justin Verlander for second in the majors with 243 punchouts. He was limited to a relatively short outing thanks to a 27-pitch third inning followed by a 25-pitch effort in the fourth inning, though it didn't stop him from recording his 13th win of the season. All in all, it was another strong outing for Cole, and he remains among the league's best in nearly every pitching category. The right-hander's next start will be Friday on the road against the Red Sox.

Carlos Carrasco RP | ATL
Indians' Carlos Carrasco: Allows five runs in loss
Carrasco (16-8) pitched 6.1 innings Sunday, yielding five runs on nine hits and two walks to take the loss against the Rays. He struck out nine and yielded two homers.
Overall, it just wasn't Carrasco's day, and he didn't receive any run support before being yanked in the seventh inning. He coughed up a pair of solo homers to Brandon Lowe and C.J. Cron. Still, he owns a 3.52 ERA and a strong 187:33 K:BB in 161 innings this season. The 31-year-old will take the mound in Toronto on Friday.
