Alex Cobb SP | DET
Orioles' Alex Cobb: Continues solid stretch
Cobb gave up one run on five hits and two walks while striking out three in seven innings Tuesday in Tampa Bay. He did not factor in the decision.
He has lowered his ERA from 6.67 to 5.55 over his last five starts, four of which were quality. Cobb has generated double-digit groundball outs in three straight starts, but has only struck out 11 in 19 innings over that stretch, and his inability to miss bats at a high clip figures to catch up to him again eventually. Cobb's next start will be Sunday against the Red Sox.

Tyler Glasnow SP | LAD
Rays' Tyler Glasnow: Strikes out nine in dominant outing
Glasnow gave up one run on two hits and zero walks while striking out nine over four innings Tuesday against the Orioles.
The Rays watched their newly-acquired prized young arm utterly dominate the Orioles for four frames and were disciplined enough to pull him after 61 pitches -- his highest pitch total since April 19, when he threw 73 pitches in Philadelphia. The Orioles' lineup is among the worst in baseball, so that was working in Glasnow's favor, but there's no denying he seems to have unlocked something since being traded to Tampa Bay. He has allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out 14 across his seven innings (two starts) with the Rays. The next step for Glasnow is to prove capable of going five or six innings per outing. His next start will be Sunday in Toronto.

Adalberto Mejia SP | MIN
Twins' Adalberto Mejia: Exits with wrist strain
Mejia was forced to leave Tuesday's start against the Indians with a strained left wrist, Dan Hayes of The Athletic Minnesota reports.
Mejia tossed five one-hit innings on only 68 pitches prior to leaving with the injury. The severity of the issue is currently unknown, leaving his status for Sunday's expected start at Detroit up in the air.

Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Hopeful for next start
Stroman (finger) said he "won't be missing [his] next start" after leaving Tuesday's game with a right middle finger blister, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Stroman cruised through seven innings prior to exiting with the injury, and his next turn through the rotation would come Sunday against the Rays. Everything will depend on the right-hander's progress over the next few days, but the Blue Jays don't have an off day until Aug. 23, which doesn't give the team much flexibility in how to handle their starting rotation if Stroman does have any further issues. The 27-year-old has apparently dealt with the blister issue throughout the season, John Lott of The Athletic Toronto reports.

Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Injury confirmed as blister
Stroman's injury that forced him to leave Tuesday's game after seven innings has been confirmed as a blister on his right middle finger.
Stroman was cruising against the Red Sox through seven innings before he was pulled during warmups prior to the eighth inning. He was replaced by Ryan Tepera, who was touched for four runs and took a potential win from Stroman.

Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Leaves game with undisclosed injury
Stroman was removed from Tuesday's game against Boston with an undisclosed injury, Ben Nicholson-Smith of SportsNet.ca reports. He allowed one unearned run on two hits and three walks while striking out four over seven innings.
Stroman came out for the eighth inning, then gestured toward the Blue Jays trainer while making his warmup tosses. He was seen looking at his hand, leading us to believe he may have developed a blister.

Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL
Astros' Dallas Keuchel: Throws another quality start
Keuchel did not factor in the decision in Tuesday's win over the Giants despite allowing one run on three hits over six innings. He recorded five strikeouts and issued two walks.
Keuchel finished the afternoon with 87 pitches and likely could have pitched another inning, but manager A.J. Hinch opted for a pinch hitter in the top of the seventh as the Astros trailed 1-0 at the time. The 30-year-old had an up-and-down first three months of the season but since the start of July has allowed 11 runs (10 earned) over 45.2 innings (1.97 ERA in seven starts). Keuchel currently lines up for a matchup against the Mariners on Sunday.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Throws another bullpen session
Rodriguez (ankle) threw another bullpen session Tuesday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
Rodriguez has now thrown a pair of successful bullpen sessions as he works his way back from an ankle sprain. He's scheduled to throw a live batting practice session Friday. The lefty will likely need a rehab start or two but could return to the rotation by the end of the month.

Vidal Nuno SP | WAS
Rays' Vidal Nuno: Resumes throwing
Nuno (hamstring) threw off flat ground Tuesday and will throw off the mound Thursday, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.
Nuno has been out with a hamstring strain since early July. He was nearing a rehab assignment at the end of the month but was briefly shut down after suffering a minor setback. He's back throwing now, but it's unclear how much more time he'll need before he can make a rehab appearance.

Chris Sale SP | ATL
Red Sox's Chris Sale: Set to return Sunday
Sale (shoulder) will return from the disabled list Sunday against the Orioles, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.
The Red Sox have given Sale a bit of time off to rest an inflamed shoulder as they prepare to play deep into October. He'll get an easy assignment in his first game back, taking on the recently dismantled Orioles.
