Lance Lynn SP | STL
Yankees' Lance Lynn: Traded to Yankees
Lynn was dealt from the Twins to the Yankees on Monday in exchange for Tyler Austin and Luis Rijo, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
New York addressed one of their weaknesses as a team by adding a veteran right-hander to its starting rotation. Lynn has struggled at times in 2018, accruing a 5.10 ERA and 1.63 WHIP with 100:62 K:BB over 102.1 innings, but perhaps a trade to a contending team will rejuvenate the 31-year-old. He figures to slot in near the back end of the starting rotation.

Frankie Montas RP | NYM
Athletics' Frankie Montas: Optioned back to Nashville
Montas was sent down to Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Oakland will roll with a four-man rotation with a slew of off days coming up, so Montas was returned to the minor leagues following a start in Colorado on Sunday. The club will require a fifth starter versus Seattle on Aug. 14, but it remains to be seen whether Andrew Triggs (forearm) or Paul Blackburn (elbow) will be ready to come off the DL. In the meantime, Montas will continue starting at the Triple-A level.

James Paxton SP | BOS
Mariners' James Paxton: Activated from DL prior to start
Paxton (back) was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list ahead of Monday's start against Houston.
As expected, Paxton will take the hill against the Astros after being sidelined for a few weeks with lower-back stiffness. Across 20 starts this year, he's accumulated a 3.70 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with a staggering 11.7 K/9.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Increasing activity but not resuming mound work
Rodriguez (ankle) has been cleared to increase activities but has not yet been cleared to resume mound work, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
Rodriguez continues to make progress after suffering ligament damage in his right ankle in mid-July. He remains a few weeks from returning, however. Whether or not he'll need a rehab assignment once he resumes throwing will likely depend on how long his absence ends up being.

Marco Gonzales RP | TEX
Mariners' Marco Gonzales: Gets 12th win
Gonzales (12-5) earned the win against the Angels on Sunday, giving up two earned runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out seven and walking two in Seattle's 8-5 victory.
Gonzales just continues to churn out superb stat lines, as he's gone 5-0 over his last five games, all of which have been quality starts. Impressively, he has issued just 25 walks and struck out 111 in 125.2 innings this year. He'll take a 3.37 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP into his next start against the Blue Jays on Friday.

Vidal Nuno SP | WAS
Rays' Vidal Nuno: Rehab assignment set
Nuno (hamstring) is set to begin a minor-league rehab assignment with High-A Charlotte on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Nuno has increased his activity this past week, working up to a Saturday bullpen session after playing catch from 90 feet Thursday. It appears he emerged setback-free from throwing off a mound, leading to the confirmation of his rehab assignment. It's unknown whether Nuno will complete all his rehab work with the Stone Crabs, or whether the Rays will have him face a higher caliber of competition at Double-A Montgomery or Triple-A Durham as well before activation.

Corey Kluber SP | BOS
Indians' Corey Kluber: Tosses gem vs. Tigers
Kluber (13-6) surrendered one run on five hits and one walk while fanning five over 7.1 innings Sunday against Detroit as he secured the victory.
Kluber gave up a single run in the first inning on a groundout to shortstop, but he cruised through the remainder of his outing. He managed to rebound after being tagged with the loss in both of his previous two starts (nine runs across 11.1 frames), and the 32-year-old owns a 2.79 ERA and 0.94 WHIP with 139 punchouts through 145 innings in 2018.

Yonny Chirinos SP | MIA
Rays' Yonny Chirinos: Suffers loss vs. O's
Chirinos surrendered four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out three over three innings Sunday as he took the loss against Baltimore.
Chirinos gave up three in the first inning, and he was ultimately lifted with a two-run deficit after tossing 57 pitches in his seventh start of the season. He's allowed three runs in each of his last three appearances (11.2 innings), and he hasn't collected a victory in 2018, so the righty certainly hasn't shown his best stuff in 2018. Chirinos will head into his next outing with a 4.21 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with 33 strikeouts through 36.1 innings.
-
Dylan Bundy SP | NYM
Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Notches seventh victory
Bundy (7-9) allowed three runs on four hits while fanning seven Sunday as he secured the win over the Rays.
Bundy surrendered three solo homers, but he received plenty of run support as the Orioles scored 11 times in the series finale. The 25-year-old managed to collect his first win since June 23, after giving up 15 runs over his previous three outings (12.1 innings). Bundy has accrued a 4.53 ERA and 1.26 WHIP with 123 strikeouts through 115.1 innings this season.

Frankie Montas RP | NYM
Athletics' Frankie Montas: Takes loss after 4.1 innings
Montas (5-3) lasted just 4.1 innings Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks while taking the loss to Colorado. He struck out six and gave up a home run.
Montas surrendered three earned runs for the third time in his last four outings, bumping his ERA up to 3.75 this season. He allowed a two-run homer off the bat of Tom Murphy in the second inning before Ryan McMahon drove in another run during the third. Montas will carry a 39:19 K:BB into Saturday's start against Detroit.
