Martin Perez SP | ATL
Rangers' Martin Perez: Gives up season-high eight runs Sunday
Perez (5-9) was shelled for eight runs on nine hits with two walks and three strikeouts over 4.1 innings in Sunday's loss to the Orioles.
Perez actually held Baltimore off the board until the fourth inning but allowed nine of the final 13 hitters he faced to reach base. While Perez has now allowed multiple earned runs in 17 consecutive appearances, this was only the third time in 20 starts that the lefty failed to pitch at least five full innings.

Wade Miley SP | CIN
Orioles' Wade Miley: Shows improvement in win
Miley (5-9) held the Rangers to two runs on four hits with one walk and five strikeouts over five innings in Sunday's 10-6 win.
Miley has now gone 11 consecutive outings without a quality start, but this effort still represents a major improvement after his past three opponents tagged him for a combined 17 earned runs in 15.2 innings. Baltimore's bats made sure he walked away victorious in this one, staking the veteran southpaw to a 9-2 lead by the time he exited this contest after 105 pitches. A repeat of this result is the best Miley could hope for when he next takes the mound Friday against a righty-laden Tigers lineup.

Lance McCullers SP | MIL
Astros' Lance McCullers: Allows many baserunners in loss
McCullers (7-3) allowed five runs on eight hits, four walks and two hit batsmen over five-plus innings in Sunday's 13-1 loss to the Tigers.
McCullers continued a frustrating stretch in which he's posted a 7.45 ERA in six starts since coming off the disabled list in late June. He faced 28 batters Sunday, 13 more than the minimum for a five-inning start. He was able to navigate a few jams and kept the game close, but manager A.J. Hinch had seen enough after the right-hander put the first two men of the sixth inning on base. McCullers is next due to start Friday at home against the Blue Jays.

Justin Verlander SP | DET
Tigers' Justin Verlander: Cruises to win Sunday
Verlander (6-7) picked up the win Sunday against the Astros. He pitched six scoreless innings, giving up five hits and three walks. He struck out six.
Detroit hitters produced 13 runs in this one, giving Verlander more than enough to work with. The veteran hurler has now gone at least six innings and allowed three earned runs or less in three straight starts, and he's struck out 23 batters over 20 innings during the stretch. Trade rumors have been swirling around Verlander, but if he remains in Detroit past Monday's deadline, his next start is slated for Friday in Baltimore.

Frankie Montas RP | NYM
Athletics' Frankie Montas: Optioned to Triple-A
Montas was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Sunday.
Montas has been working on and off out of the major-league bullpen this season but will be sent back to Triple-A with Jharel Cotton (finger) returning from the disabled list Sunday. Montas struggled in his time in the majors, posting a 7.03 ERA and 13.2 percent walk rate over 32 innings of relief.

Adalberto Mejia SP | MIN
Twins' Adalberto Mejia: Takes another no-decision against Athletics
Mejia allowed two runs on eight hits and two walks with two strikeouts through five innings in a no-decision Saturday against Oakland.
Mejia hasn't taken a decision in any of his last three starts, in large part because he hasn't been able to go deep into games. His longest start since the break was 5.1 innings against the Yankees. Despite holding the Athletics to two runs, Mejia needed 97 pitches to complete five innings Saturday. Mejia has allowed only four runs in this stretch, but his fantasy utility will be limited until he can find a way to be more efficient.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Exits after four innings Saturday
Rodriguez allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out five batters over four innings during Saturday's win over Kansas City. He didn't factor into the decision.
Rodriguez has struggled since returning from the disabled list allowing 11 runs through just 14.2 innings. He still continues to pile up strikeouts, and the lefty started the season with a 2.77 ERA, WHIP and 9.6 K/9 through his first nine outings, so the upside is there. Additionally, pitching for a contender is always a nice benefit. Rodriguez lines up to face the White Sox at Fenway Park in his next start.

Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Orioles' Kevin Gausman: Earns win against Texas
Gausman (8-7) allowed seven hits and three walks and struck out eight over 8.2 shutout innings in Saturday's victory against the Rangers.
Gausman has now won five straight decisions and has struck out at least eight in four of those starts. That said, he has lacked consistency -- in two no-decisions since his last loss on June 21, Gausman gave up a combined 13 runs. Gausman's ERA sits at an ugly 5.37, but with Saturday's gem, he now has quality starts in three straight outings and four of his last six.

Corey Kluber SP | BOS
Indians' Corey Kluber: Strikes out 12 in no-decision
Kluber allowed four runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out 12 batters over 6.1 innings during Saturday's win over the White Sox. He didn't factor into the decision.
Since returning from the disabled list June 1, Kluber has struck out 120 over just 77.1 innings. He boasts an elite 2.90 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 12.6 K/9 for the campaign and is a true matchup-proof hurler in all fantasy formats. Kluber projects to face the Yankees at Progressive Field in his next start.

Matthew Boyd SP | CHC
Tigers' Matt Boyd: Hurls quality start in Saturday victory
Boyd (5-5) allowed three runs on eight hits while striking out five over 7.1 innings to earn the win Saturday against the Astros.
Boyd gave up a pair of runs in the first inning before settling down, and the Tigers came up with three runs in the seventh inning to help him earn his fifth victory of the year. Although he performed well against a strong offense, his 5.30 ERA and 1.62 WHIP make him a player who's difficult to trust in fantasy lineups. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Orioles.
