Martin Perez SP | ATL
Rangers' Martin Perez: Holds Nationals to two runs through five
Perez allowed just two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five batters during Saturday's win over Washington. He didn't factor into the decision.
The Nationals own a high-powered offense, so this was one of the better starts of the year for Perez. He sports an underwhelming 4.56 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 6.7 K/9 for the season but has the potential to help as a streaming option or value play in daily contests against favorable opponents. The 26-year-old lefty projects to face the Mariners at home in his next start.

Domingo German SP | PIT
Yankees' Domingo German: Expected to start Sunday
German is expected to be recalled to start Sunday against the Orioles, the New York Daily News reports.
The Yankees pushed Masahiro Tanaka back to Monday, and it sounds like German will get the nod in Sunday's series finale over Chad Green, although the team has yet to confirm. German, who is already on the 40-man roster, has posted a 3.00 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 38:10 K:BB in 33 innings with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season.

Drew Smyly SP | CHC
Mariners' Drew Smyly: Throws bullpen Saturday
Smyly (elbow) tossed a bullpen Saturday prior to the Mariners' game against Toronto, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.
The plan is for Smyly to throw at least five more bullpens before completing a simulated game. His initial session Saturday saw the southpaw throw 22 pitches, all of which were fastballs. Once Smyly has completed his bullpens and simulated game, he will embark on a rehab assignment before rejoining the Mariners sometime in mid July.

Tyler Cloyd SP | MIA
Mariners' Tyler Cloyd: Optioned to Triple-A on Saturday
Cloyd was sent down to Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday.
In a corresponding move, the club recalled Emilio Pagan from Tacoma prior to its game against the Blue Jays. During his time with the team, Cloyd only saw one appearance, giving up two hits but no runs Friday against Toronto. The right-hander will likely get another chance to shine at the big-league level later on this season.

Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL
Astros' Dallas Keuchel: Shut down for the week
Keuchel will be shut down for a week to allow the discomfort in his neck to subside but there is a chance he'll only miss 1-to-2 starts, Richard Justice of MLB.com reports.
It appears that the Astros will exercise extra caution with their ace during his DL stint and make sure his neck is fully healed before letting Keuchel resume throwing. Assuming everything goes according to plan, Keuchel should be able to pick up a ball at some point next weekend, at which point there figures to be a firmer timetable for his return. Keuchel's absence leaves a major hole in the Astros rotation, but the club should be getting some reinforcements in the near future with Joe Musgrove and Charlie Morton nearing returns.

Tyler Cloyd SP | MIA
Mariners' Tyler Cloyd: Notches first win Friday
Cloyd (1-0) fired a scoreless seventh inning in Friday's 4-2 win over the Blue Jays, giving up two hits and recording a strikeout.
The 30-year-old right-hander was in line for the win once Danny Valencia and Jarrod Dyson roped a pair of RBI singles in the home half of the frame to give the Mariners a 3-2 lead. It was Cloyd's first appearance since being called up from Triple-A Tacoma on June 2 and marked his first time on a big-league mound since 2013 while with the Phillies.

Cole Hamels SP | SD
Rangers' Cole Hamels: Tosses bullpen Saturday
Hamels (oblique) threw a bullpen session Saturday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Provided that Hamels' bullpen session went smoothly, the next step in his rehab process will be throwing to live hitters, according to Grant. Hamels has been making steady progress in recent weeks and has responded well each time the Rangers have upped his activity level. Once Hamels begins facing live hitters, a rehab assignment could be next on the docket.

Alex Cobb SP | DET
Rays' Alex Cobb: Cruises to fifth win Friday
Cobb (5-5) allowed one run on four hits and a walk over six innings while striking out five in Friday's 13-4 win over the A's.
The Rays scored three runs in the first inning and never looked back, giving Cobb plenty of cushion and letting him pound the strike zone all night. He threw 65 of 96 pitches for strikes en route to just his fourth quality start of the year, bouncing back nicely from a disaster against the Mariners in his last outing. Cobb will next take the mound Wednesday on the road against the Blue Jays.

Jordan Montgomery RP | TEX
Yankees' Jordan Montgomery: Pitches seven strong Friday
Montgomery (4-4) pitched seven innings of two-run ball Friday against the Orioles, striking out eight and walking one.
Montgomery's lone blemish on the evening was surrendering a second-inning, two-run shot to Jonathan Schoop. Other than that, the left-hander was solid. The 24-year-old has not given up more than two runs in any of his last four starts and has seen his ERA drop from 4.81 to 3.55, with 24 strikeouts in that span.

Corey Kluber SP | BOS
Indians' Corey Kluber: Tosses quality start
Kluber (5-2) allowed three runs on seven hits over six innings Friday against the White Sox, striking out eight and walking two.
In his second start since a nearly month-long disabled list stint (back) that cost him almost all of May, Kluber didn't quite match the six shutout innings he fired June 1, but still had himself a nice night. He now has a 18:3 K:BB since his return.
