  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Orioles' Wade Miley: On track for next start

Miley (leg) is in line to make his next scheduled start Wednesday against the Nationals, Rich Dubroff of PressBoxOnline.com reports.

Miley was struck with back-to-back line drives during Friday's start, and although neither was thought to have done serious damage, some lingering question marks remained about his availability for his next turn in the rotation. Even though the start will likely go on as planned, it's a poor fantasy matchup against a strong pitcher in Strasburg, who has the league's best offense behind him.

  • Jose Berrios SP | TOR

Twins' Jose Berrios: Not immediate rotation option

Berrios is not being considered for a spot start Tuesday against Chicago, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Berrios remains in the long-term plans to eventually join the rotation, but unless manager Paul Molitor is giving the media the runaround, it doesn't sound like young right-hander will be back up in the immediate future. Berrios is scheduled to make his regular start for Triple-A Rochester on Sunday, and the organization's plans for him after that remain up in the air. With several struggling starters at the major-league level, however, one would think it's only a matter of time before Berrios gets the call.

  • Mike Clevinger RP | PIT

Indians' Mike Clevinger: Called up to start Sunday

Clevinger has been recalled from Triple-A Columbus and is listed as the starting pitcher Sunday against Kansas City, Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Clevinger will take the hill for the Tribe, squaring off against Danny Duffy and the Royals. He earned the spot start after a dominant beginning to his Triple-A season, going 3-1 with a 1.50 ERA in six games. Clevinger will take the rotation spot of Corey Kluber (back) for now, and a quality outing could earn him a longer stint with the club.

  • Yankees' Jordan Montgomery: Holds Cubs to two earned runs Saturday

Montgomery (2-1) allowed three runs -- two earned -- on three hits and four walks while striking out three batters during Saturday's win over the Cubs.

Considering the venue and opponent, this was a solid outing for the rookie lefty. Montgomery hasn't allowed more than three runs in any of his five starts, and he now sports a 3.81 ERA and 1.38 WHIP with 26 strikeouts over 28.1 innings. He projects to face Houston -- another tough matchup -- in his next start.

  • Astros' Lance McCullers: Pitches well in road no-decision

McCullers allowed one unearned run on two hits and two walks while striking out four over seven innings in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Angels in Anaheim.

McCullers bucked a career trend of pitching poorly on the road, using a different mix to stymie the Angels. He threw more fastballs and changeups relative to his power curve with the changeup being a difference-maker. The result was more of a pitch-to-contact approach and fewer strikeouts than normal. He was able to throw the changeup below the zone and induced a season-high 11 groundouts to just two flyball outs. McCullers lowered his career road ERA from 5.32 to 4.95, a mark that's easier to look at but still stands in stark contrast to his 2.11 ERA at Minute Maid Park in Houston. McCullers' next start will be another road outing, either Thursday or Friday, in New York to face the hot-hitting Yankees.

  • Dylan Bundy SP | NYM

Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Tosses quality start in Saturday win

Bundy (5-1) allowed three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out three across six innings to earn the win Saturday against the White Sox.

Bundy was spotted to an early four-run lead before giving up three runs over the fifth and sixth innings and exiting after firing 105 pitches. He's tossed quality starts in all seven of his outings this year, and with a 2.17 ERA, he's been an excellent fantasy option. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Nationals.

  • Rays' Jake Odorizzi: Fans six in victory

Odorizzi (2-1) allowed one run and three hits while striking out six across seven innings to earn the win Saturday against the Blue Jays.

Odorizzi completely stifled the Blue Jays bats while getting plenty of run support on his way to his second victory of the season. He's now gone four straight starts without allowing more than a single earned run, and with a 2.88 ERA, he could be enjoying a breakout year in his sixth season. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Royals.

  • Chris Bassitt SP | BAL

Athletics' Chris Bassitt: Encouraged by rehab start

Bassitt (elbow) was encouraged by his performance for High-A Stockton on Thursday, when he threw 57 pitches over four innings and topped out at 94 mph, John Hickey of the East Bay Times reports. "I only threw a fastball and a changeup," Bassitt said. "The fastball was really good, the changeup OK at best...just getting back out there is the biggest thing."

The outing ironically came on the one-year anniversary of the announcement that Bassitt would undergo Tommy John surgery on his right elbow. The right-hander notched 35 strikes against San Jose, facing 14 batters overall and averaging 91 mph. Bassitt remains cautious with the pace he's keeping in his rehab, stressing that velocity is not his main focus at present. "I don't have that fifth gear that I've had in the past. That will obviously come," Bassitt said. "But I also haven't really stepped on it to say the least."

  • Alec Asher SP | MIL

Orioles' Alec Asher: Recalled from Triple-A

Asher was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

This is his second trip to the big leagues so far this season, and he has worked as a starter and a reliever thus far for the O's. With Wade Miley (leg) day-to-day, there might be an opportunity for a spot start coming up; otherwise he would be used as a long reliever.

  • Marcus Stroman SP | NYY

Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Will make next start

Stroman, who left Wednesday's contest with arm issues, will make his scheduled start Monday against Cleveland, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet reports.

Even though this news comes as expected, it definitely allows owners to breathe a deep sigh of relief. Stroman's midweek diagnosis of "general arm soreness" was a scary one, but it appears the right-hander avoided any serious issues. Adding to the good news for Stoman's fantasy owners: he's in line to make two starts next week.
