  • Vicente Campos SP | PIT

Angels' Vicente Campos: Claimed by Angels on Friday

Campos was claimed off waivers by the Angels on Friday.

Campos broke his arm in September, but the Angels still snatched him up based off his strong history of performance in the minor leagues (3.66 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 109 appearances). He is also only 24 years old, so although he'll likely begin his tenure in the organization at Triple-A due to his arm injury, he very well could find his way to the big leagues by the end of the season.

  • Mike Clevinger RP | PIT

Indians' Mike Clevinger: Heads into 2017 as starting pitcher

Clevinger will prepare for the 2017 season as a starting pitcher, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Clevinger got his first cup of coffee with the Indians this past season, although he had his fair share of struggles. Despite this, the Indians are still hoping that he'll amount to a solid rotation arm in the near future, leading them to keep him as rotation depth. That being said, they haven't ruled him out as being a reliever in the short-term, but for the time being, he'll try to latch onto the Opening Day roster as the fourth or fifth starter for Cleveland.

  • Domingo German SP | PIT

Yankees' Domingo German: Becomes part of 40-man roster Friday

German was added to the 40-man roster Friday.

Since his first appearance in the Yankees organization, German has been outstanding, most recently posting a 3.08 ERA in 10 starts between the Class-A and High-A levels, so the Yankees decided to protect him from the Rule 5 draft. The 24-year-old is still a good distance away from the big leagues, but if he can stay healthy in 2017, he could work his way up to the higher levels of the minors by the season's conclusion.

  • Indians' Carlos Carrasco: Scheduled to resume throwing in December

Carrasco (hand) will resume throwing in December and is expected to be on a normal offseason throwing program.

Carrasco's original timetable had him lined up to begin throwing toward the end of November, although this slight alteration shouldn't affect his availability when spring training rolls around. The right-hander is expected to jump right back into a prominent position in the Indians rotation.

  • Myles Jaye SP | CLE

Tigers' Myles Jaye: Added to 40-man roster Friday

Jaye's contract was purchased from Triple-A Toledo on Friday.

Jaye pitched well after moving up to Toledo last season, sporting a 3.69 ERA after seven starts, so the Tigers decided to reward him with a spot on the 40-man roster. Detroit has a plethora of starters that are major-league ready, so the 24-year-old's will likely continue to develop at Triple-A unless he makes the switch to the bullpen.

  • Corey Kluber SP | BOS

Indians' Corey Kluber: To start Game 4 on short rest

Kluber will start Game 4 of the World Series on short rest, ESPN's Jayson Stark reports.

He was masterful in Game 1 and only needed 88 pitches to get through six scoreless frames. The fact that the Indians were able to get their ace out of Tuesday's game at such a modest pitch count may have prompted the decision to bring him back to start Saturday in Wrigley Field on short rest. This also means that Trevor Bauer and Josh Tomlin will line up to pitch Game 5 and Game 6, respectively, on short rest.

  • Corey Kluber SP | BOS

Indians' Corey Kluber: Slated to start World Series Game 1

Kluber is scheduled to start Game 1 of the World Series against the Cubs on Tuesday, ESPN reports.

Just as he did in the ALCS, Cleveland's ace will head to the mound to kick off the World Series. Kluber will face off against Cubs left-hander Jon Lester in the series opener, with Trevor Bauer and Josh Tomlin expected to follow him in the rotation.

  • Corey Kluber SP | BOS

Indians' Corey Kluber: Will start Game 4

Kluber will now start Game 4 of the ALCS on Tuesday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today Sports reports.

Kluber was originally scheduled to start Game 5, but manager Terry Francona had hinted that could change if Trevor Bauer ran into trouble Monday. That indeed was the case, as Bauer only lasted four batters after aggravating a preexisting laceration on his throwing hand. Kluber will now pitch Tuesday on short rest for the first time in his career.

  • Andrew Albers SP | MIN

Twins' Andrew Albers: Outrighted to Triple-A on Monday

Albers was outrighted to Triple-A Rochester on Monday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Albers hasn't found much success in the major leagues thus far, so the Twins decided to move on from the 30-year-old. He'll likely act as organizational pitching depth going forward.

  • Taijuan Walker SP | LAA

Mariners' Taijuan Walker: Undergoes ankle surgery Monday

Walker underwent arthroscopic surgery Monday to remove a bone fragment on his right ankle.

There was speculation that Walker might undergo a procedure, but it was unclear what would be done if that was the case. Now that the issue has been addressed, the right-hander will begin his rehab immediately and is expected to be ready for the start of spring training.
