Twins' Tommy Milone: Will throw bullpen session Wednesday
Milone (biceps) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press reports.
Earlier reports said that Milone would throw a bullpen session Friday, but it appears that the Twins are confident enough in his progress to have him throw Wednesday. An estimated return for the 29-year-old southpaw should be known in the near future as he increases his throwing activities.

Matthew Boyd SP | CHC
Tigers' Matt Boyd: Optioned to Triple-A Toledo
Boyd was optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.
Over 16 games with the Tigers, Boyd has built a 4.00 ERA and 1.26 WHIP. He'd been improving in recent contests as he posted a 2.55 ERA over his last 10 appearances. However, he'll return to Toledo, where he owns a 2.25 ERA and 1.11 WHIP for the year. In a corresponding move, Blaine Hardy was recalled from Toledo.

Yu Darvish SP | SD
Rangers' Yu Darvish: Earns fifth win over Mariners
Darvish (5-3) allowed three runs on six hits and two walks with nine strikeouts over 6.2 innings in a win Monday over the Mariners.
Darvish hasn't failed to throw a quality start in his last eight outings, an eight-start span in which he owns a brilliant 62:11 K:BB. He induced 16 swinging strikes over 110 pitches in Monday's game, as he had the Mariners off balance all night long. His ERA sits at 3.01 as his only problem this year has been a mild propensity for the home run ball (nine allowed in 12 starts, a 1.1 HR/9).

Joe Musgrove SP | SD
Astros' Joe Musgrove: Throws 5.1 shutout innings in second win
Musgrove (2-2) threw 5.1 shutout innings and allowed three hits and three walks while striking out seven in a win Monday over Oakland.
Musgrove racked up 94 pitches in the short outing and added two hit batsmen to his three walks, so it's hard to say it was a clean start. But it's still a far sight better than his last two starts, in which he served up 13 runs on 19 hits over 9.1 innings. Musgrove has shown flashes of brilliance, as he has struck out at least six batters in four of his six MLB starts and is looking like he has the stuff to compete in the big leagues.

Matthew Boyd SP | CHC
Tigers' Matt Boyd: Takes no-decision against White Sox
Boyd allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts but lasted just four innings in a no-decision Monday against the White Sox.
Boyd allowed the first two batters in the fifth inning to reach as well, but luckily for him, reliever Alex Wilson was able to stem the threat or else his line would look a whole lot worse. Boyd induced 11 swinging strikes but was having trouble finding the zone -- he managed just 11 called strikes in 94 pitches. Boyd has shown flashes of brilliance, but due to his inconsistency, his ERA sits at a middling 4.00.

Wade Miley SP | CIN
Orioles' Wade Miley: Takes disappointing loss in quality start
Miley (8-12) pitched seven innings, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out nine Blue Jays in Monday's loss.
Despite the loss, Miley's effort was arguably his most impressive since joining the team at the end of July. Monday marked just his second quality outing in six tries as a member of the O's. Miley matched his season high for strikeouts and surrendered his least amount of hits in an Orioles uniform. The southpaw still owns an ugly 7.14 ERA since being shipped from Seattle, but Miley has shown bits of improvement over his last two starts. He'll make his next start Sunday at Yankee Stadium.

Tommy Milone SP | SEA
Twins' Tommy Milone: Scheduled for bullpen session Friday
Milone (biceps) will throw a bullpen session Friday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Milone began throwing last week, and the fact that he's now ready to continue ramping up the activity suggests an activation may not be that far away. The 29-year-old has worked primarily as a starter this year (12 starts in 15 appearances), but it remains unclear if he'll join the rotation or head to the bullpen for the final month of the season once healthy.

Alex Cobb SP | DET
Rays' Alex Cobb: Set to start Friday
Cobb (elbow) will start Friday against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Friday will mark Cobb's first major league action since 2014, as the 28-year-old is finally at the end of his lengthy recovery from Tommy John surgery. The results have been somewhat rocky during his rehab stint, as he's worked to a 6.60 ERA over four starts at Triple-A and a 6.75 ERA in four starts at High-A, so the Rays will likely play it fairly cautiously with not much on the line in the final month. Tampa is expected to go with a six-man rotation for the time being, so no further changes to the rotation are forthcoming.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Allows five runs Sunday in loss to Royals
Rodriguez (2-6) allowed five runs on four hits and four walks across 5.1 innings in Sunday's loss against the Royals. He struck out one.
Rodriguez struggled with his command Sunday, as just 54 percent of his pitches went for strikes and he tied a season high in free passes versus a patient Royals lineup. He only allowed two runs through five innings, but a hit and two walks to begin the top of the sixth laid the framework for a disastrous frame in which the Royals scored eight times to take a lead they would never relinquish. Rodriguez, who now owns a hefty 5.35 ERA, will have the opportunity to bounce back Saturday versus the Athletics.
