After giving up his first hit to start the second, Kluber was able to erase the base runner with a double play. The seventh inning was the only time Kluber put two men on base. He was able to pitch out of trouble, securing the scoreless start.

With the win, Kluber improved to 18-9.

Chris Sale lights-out in no-decision Wednesday

White Sox stud left-hander Chris Sale performed in his last start of the season Wednesday about the same as he has in most of his outings this year - he was dominant.

That dominance, however, was not good enough to earn a win over visiting Detroit. He gave up just one run on four hits with 10 strikeouts in six innings, but received little run support. Sale lost a 1-0 lead when he yielded a sacrifice fly to Nick Castallenos in the sixth.

Sale finishes the year with an AL-best 2.17 ERA.
