Schwellenbach (3-4) allowed one run on three hits and a walk while striking out three over seven innings to earn the win Friday over the Padres.

After a middling June, Schwellenbach has allowed just two runs over 13 innings across his first two starts in July. The only downside to his performance Friday was that his three strikeouts matched his season low. The rookie right-hander has a 4.43 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 41:10 K:BB through 44.2 innings over the first eight starts of his career.

Hendricks (2-7) earned the win Friday against St. Louis, allowing five hits and one walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out three.

The right-handed veteran was masterful in this 90-pitch outing, not allowing a runner to reach second base. Hendricks has schooled the Cardinals throughout his career, as he is now 14-4 with a 2.52 ERA and 1.04 WHIP across 179 innings against them. With the scoreless effort, he lowered his ERA from 7.53 to 6.78 over 70.1 innings this season.

Gray (9-6) took the loss Friday against the Cubs, allowing three runs on nine hits and no walks over seven innings. He struck out six.

Despite collecting his eighth quality start of the season, Gray yielded a season-high nine hits -- eight singles and one double. He hasn't been at his best of late, allowing seven or more hits in three straight outings and pitching to a 6.06 ERA in 16.1 innings over that span. The 34-year-old veteran wraps up the first half with a 3.34 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 121:24 K:BB across 99.2 innings.

Rutledge did not factor into the decision in Friday's 5-2 win over Milwaukee, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out six.

Despite pitching to a 6.66 ERA across 71.2 innings at Triple-A Rochester, the 25-year-old held his own in his first major-league start of the season. Rutledge heavily relied upon a sinker that averaged 95.0 mph, generating 10 whiffs en route to his six punchouts. The Washington right-hander should garner at least one more start post-All-Star break as DJ Herz was demoted July 8 and isn't eligible to return to the big leagues until July 23.

Peralta (6-5) took the loss Friday against Washington, allowing four runs on 10 hits and no walks over five innings. He struck out six.

The Milwaukee right-hander entered this contest on a roll, pitching to a 2.45 ERA across 22 innings in his last four starts. However, Peralta wound up allowing double-digit hits for the second time this season as the Nationals cracked four extra-base hits -- three doubles and one homer. The 28-year-old finishes the first half with a 4.11 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 130:36 K:BB over 103 innings. He should line up to make his next start in the Brewers' first series after the All-Star break at Minnesota.

Paxton did not factor into the decision in Friday's 4-3 win against the Tigers, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks with one strikeout over 3.2 innings.

Paxton yielded three runs over the first two innings and was pulled with two outs in the fourth at 81 pitches. The southpaw's velocity was over one mph below his season averages on all of his offerings, and he has now failed to pitch beyond the fifth inning in each of his past four outings. He will take a 4.38 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 57:44 K:BB across 84.1 innings into the All-Star break.

Chirinos (0-1) took the loss Friday against the Reds, allowing seven runs on eight hits and four walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out one.

He served up three homers through the first three innings, including a Rece Hinds grand slam in the third. It's the first loss in five starts this year for Chirinos, but he hadn't allowed more than three runs in an outing prior to Friday. The 30-year-old right-hander's ERA is now up to 5.76 with a 1.72 WHIP and 21:9 K:BB across 25 innings. Despite those numbers, Chirinos is expected to remain in the Marlins' injury-ravaged rotation following the All-Star break.

Spiers (3-2) earned the win Friday over the Marlins, allowing three runs on six hits over five innings. He struck out nine.

All three of the runs charged to Spiers came on a Jesus Sanchez homer in the fourth inning that cut Cincinnatti's lead to 7-3. Otherwise, the 26-year-old right-hander was sharp, logging a career-high nine strikeouts while earning his third win in his last four starts. Spiers' ERA now sits at 3.83 with a 1.26 WHIP and 41:9 K:BB across 47 innings this season. With Graham Ashcraft (elbow) potentially out for the year, Spiers will likely stick in the Reds rotation in the second half.

Suarez (10-4) took the loss against the Athletics on Friday, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks with six strikeouts over six innings.

Suarez allowed three two-out runs in a rough third inning and then yielded another run in the fifth. While the Phillies offense didn't help much Friday, he has been stuck on 10 wins since June 8 and has surrendered 16 earned runs over his past three outings. The first-time All-Star still owns an impressive 2.76 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 112:26 K:BB this season and will look to hit the reset button over the break.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Yamamoto (shoulder) played catch from 60 feet twice this week, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

It's an encouraging step for the right-hander, who had been shut down from throwing since he landed on the injured list with a rotator cuff strain in mid-June. Yamamoto will need to build his arm strength up before he returns to throwing off a mound. He's likely not particularly close to a return, as he'll need multiple rehab starts before rejoining the Dodgers.
