Davies allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five over four innings in a no-decision versus the Cubs on Saturday.

Davies has labored over his last three starts, allowing 11 runs across 11 innings, going no more than four innings in each of those appearances. The 30-year-old right-hander is now at a 6.81 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 69:38 K:BB through 79.1 innings across 17 starts this season. He's projected for a road start versus the Yankees next weekend.

Ortiz (4-5) took the loss Saturday, allowing four runs on six hits and six walks over 4.2 innings in a 6-3 loss against the Yankees. He struck out two.

Ortiz struggled to find the strike zone, doling out a season-high six walks while failing to log five innings of action. He now owns a 50:44 K:BB over 78 innings of action this season. However, Ortiz has allowed two or fewer runs in three of his last four appearances. He's tentatively scheduled to take on the Reds at Great American Ball Park for his next outing.

Lorenzen and Cristopher Sanchez will be used in a piggyback role Tuesday against Atlanta, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

The Phillies may or may not have acquired Lorenzen at the deadline with the intention of using him in relief during the postseason, but his 7.96 ERA and 1.85 WHIP over his last five starts has certainly pushed him in that direction. Tuesday's outing could be a test for an arrangement the team hopes to use in the playoffs, with the left-handed Sanchez likely to throw a handful of innings before turning it over to the right-handed Lorenzen for a few more. Whether the setup is used more than once or if Lorenzen will move to a standard bullpen role following Tuesday's appearance is not yet clear.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Grove (lat) could rejoin the team on its next homestand, per the Associated Press.

Grove hasn't pitched for Los Angeles since Aug. 5, when he went 1.1 innings as an opener. The right-hander landed on the injured list the following day due to lat soreness and has made just one rehab appearance since, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out three batters for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sept. 7. It's not clear what Grove has been doing to rehab since, but it appears that he could nonetheless return to the Dodgers, likely as a bullpen arm, as soon as Monday, when the team begins a seven-game homestand against Detroit and San Francisco.

Oviedo allowed one earned run on four hits and five walks while striking out seven across five innings Friday against the Yankees. He did not factor into the decision.

Oviedo issued all five of his free passes in his first three innings of work, and he has now allowed 12 walks across his last 12.1 frames -- spanning three starts. He managed to avoid significant damage Friday thanks to some timely strikeouts, and he managed his highest punchout total in an outing since July 15. Oviedo has had an inconsistent season, but he's shown flashes of being an effective starter and has maintained a 4.27 ERA and 1.36 WHIP across a career-high 166.2 frames.

Cueto allowed three earned runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out two across four innings Friday against Atlanta. He did not factor into the decision.

Cueto got through his first two innings unscathed but struggled to conclude the outing, including serving up a solo home run to Michael Harris to lead off the third frame. Since returning from the injured list, Cueto has allowed 11 earned runs across 12.2 frames and three starts. Cueto has also failed to work more than four innings in either of his last two appearances.

Elder allowed four earned runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out six across five innings Friday against the Marlins. He did not factor into the decision.

The Marlins got to Elder early as three of his earned runs came in the first inning. He managed to settle in thereafter and tallied 14 swinging strikes on 92 total pitches and also induced six groundball outs. After a rocky stretch in the immediate aftermath of the All-Star break, Elder has maintained a 2.97 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and a 29:12 K:BB across 36.1 frames in his last six starts.

Miley (8-4) picked up the win in Friday's 5-3 victory over the Nationals, giving up three runs on five hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out three.

All three Washington runs came in the first inning as it looked like Miley might get chased early, but the veteran southpaw settled down after that and came one out short of his ninth quality start of the season. Since rejoining the rotation at the beginning of August, Miley has posted a solid 3.89 ERA and 1.13 WHIP despite a weak 24:16 K:BB through 41.2 innings. His next trip to the mound will likely come next week in St. Louis.

Irvin (3-6) took the loss Friday, giving up four runs on three hits and five walks over 4.2 innings as the Nationals fell 5-3 to the Brewers. He struck out six.

The right-hander kept Milwaukee off the board for four innings, but his command and control issues caught up to him in the fifth as two free passes set up a three-run homer for William Contreras. Irvin has walked multiple batters in five straight starts, but he's largely been able to escape the jams he's created, posting a 2.93 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 24:15 K:BB through 27.2 innings over that stretch. He hasn't won a game since July 21 however, limiting his fantasy appeal in traditional 5x5 formats. He'll face a tough matchup in his next outing, likely to come at home next week against Atlanta.

Miller (10-3) allowed three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven over 5.2 innings to earn the win over the Mariners on Friday.

Miller came up an out short of a quality start, but he was still able to earn his fourth win in his last six starts. In that span, he's given up 18 runs over 38 innings. The rookie right-hander is at a 4.02 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 99:30 K:BB through 107.1 innings through 19 starts this season. Miller's projected for a favorable home start versus the Tigers next week.
