Gonsolin (8-5) surrendered 10 runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out two over 3.1 innings to take the loss Friday versus the Marlins.

Both starters struggled in this contest, but Gonsolin got caught with more traffic on the bases. He gave up a total of five homers in the contest, including three for multiple runs, in his worst outing of the season. This snapped a three-game winning streak for Gonsolin as well as the Dodgers' 11-game winning streak as a team. He's now at a 4.98 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 82:40 K:BB through 103 innings over 20 starts this year. Gonsolin has alternated good and bad outings over his last five turns, but he's projected for a tough road assignment in Boston his next time out.

Alcantara (6-10) allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six over six innings to earn the win Friday over the Dodgers.

Alcantara was tagged for three home runs, but they were all solo shots, and the Marlins responded with five homers of their own. Alcantara has gone at least six innings in eight straight starts, posting six quality starts and a 3-3 record in that span. The Miami ace is at a 4.11 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 141:41 K:BB through 165.1 innings over 25 starts this season. He's projected for a road outing in San Diego next week.

Pfaadt allowed a hit and three walks while striking out five over seven scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Friday.

Pfaadt carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning before giving up a double to Juan Soto. Despite the stellar start -- his third quality start in six outings since returning from Triple-A Reno -- the right-hander wasn't able to collect his first major-league win due to a lack of run support. Pfaadt is now at a 6.13 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 55:19 K:BB through 61.2 innings over 12 starts, though his outings have been much more convincing during his second stint in the majors. He's lined up to make his next start at home versus the Reds.

Lugo allowed five hits and three walks while striking out nine over six shutout innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Lugo had given up a combined 10 runs over his first 8.1 innings in August before his bounce-back effort Friday. This was his first scoreless outing of the season, although he held the Reds to just one unearned run June 30. The right-hander is at a 3.92 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 103:24 K:BB through 103.1 innings over 19 starts. He's projected for a home start versus the Marlins next week.

Woodruff did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing four runs on three hits and two walks over 5.1 innings against the Rangers. He struck out four.

Following a scoreless three innings to start the night, Woodruff was undone by the long ball in the fourth. Nathaniel Lowe tagged him with a two-run blast, followed a couple batters later by a solo shot from Mitch Garver. Woodruff still pitched into the sixth, allowing a fourth run when Corey Seager came around to score following a leadoff double, and he ultimately escaped with a no decision. Although the four runs were his most allowed all season, the 92 pitches thrown represent Woodruff's highest total since returning from a shoulder injury Aug. 6. His next start is projected to be a home matchup against the Padres next weekend.

Lucchesi (2-0) yielded four hits and two walks over 5.2 scoreless innings Friday, striking out five and earning a win over the Cardinals.

Lucchesi was promoted for his first MLB appearance since May 13 and looked sharp. He coughed up just one extra-base hit and, at one point, retired 12 consecutive batters. He lowered his ERA to 3.54 through 28 frames in the majors. Lucchesi's outing was impressive, but it remains to be seen if the Mets will give him another turn in the rotation.

Kennedy permitted just three hits and one walk over five shutout frames Friday, taking a no-decision against the Blue Jays. He struck out two.

Kennedy dealt with a little traffic early, as the Jays had multiple chances with runners in scoring position over the first three innings but failed to capitalize. The right-hander then retired the side in order in the fourth and fifth before being pulled. Kennedy might be headed back to the minors if the Reds decide Nick Lodolo (tibia) is ready to return next week.

Taillon (7-8) took the loss Friday, yielding four runs (two earned) on six hits against the Royals. He struck out three without walking a batter.

It goes down as a quality start despite Taillon losing his second straight decision. This effort was indisputably better than the last one though, with the right-hander taking a lead into the sixth inning before serving up a two-run shot to Bobby Witt. Taillon has mostly been good since the start of July, posting a 4.03 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 41:12 K:BB through his last 51.1 innings.

The Mets recalled Lucchesi (knee) from Triple-A Syracuse ahead of his start Friday against the Cardinals.

A knee issue has kept Lucchesi out of action for roughly a month, but he's been deemed healthy enough for a spot start with the big-league club. The 30-year-old southpaw holds a 4.45 ERA across 60.2 innings in the majors since 2021 and will likely return to Triple-A after Friday's game.

Suarez won't make his scheduled start Sunday against Washington due to soreness in his hamstring, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Suarez's hamstring reportedly started acting up during the Phillies' series against Toronto and has carried on long enough to have him ruled out for Sunday. Luckily, his injury seems relatively minor, and the Phillies aren't worried about his status long-term. Zack Wheeler will take Suarez's place Sunday against Washington.
