Montgomery (hamstring) didn't factor in the decision after he allowed one run on six hits over six innings during Tuesday's extra-inning win against the Marlins. He struck out five and walked two.

The left-hander exited his previous outing July 7 with a hamstring issue, but he returned to the mound Tuesday with no issues and delivered his 11th quality start of the campaign. Edward Cabrera pitched similarly well for Miami, leading to a no-decision for both starters. Montgomery missed out on the victory but still has a 4-0 record with a 1.47 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 42:11 K:BB in 43 frames across his past seven appearances.

Grove (2-2) earned the win Tuesday, allowing a run on five hits and two walks over five innings against the Orioles. He struck out four.

Grove was solid Tuesday, holding Baltimore to a single run on an Aaron Hicks double in the second inning. It's an encouraging outing for the 26-year-old right-hander, lowering his ERA to a still-subpar 6.40 with a 1.54 WHIP and 47:17 K:BB through 52 innings. Grove will likely stick in the Dodgers' rotation until Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) can return from the IL. He's lined up to face the Blue Jays at home in his next outing.

Teheran (2-4) was charged with the loss Tuesday against the Phillies after he gave up four runs on seven hits and two walks across 4.2 innings. He struck out three.

The 32-year-old has now surrendered at least four runs in three straight starts after he allowed just six earned runs combined over his first six outings of the season. Teheran has been a key fill-in piece for Milwaukee's rotation with a 4.01 ERA and 1.10 WHIP over 51.2 innings, but his recent struggles could result in him eventually being the odd man out when Wade Miley (elbow) and/or Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) return from the injured list.

Keller (9-5) took the loss Tuesday, allowing eight runs on 10 hits and two walks over six innings against the Guardians. He struck out one.

Cleveland did most of its damage against Keller early, putting up a five-spot on the right-hander in the first inning. It's a tough start to the second half for Keller, who posted a 2.16 ERA in his final four starts before the break. Overall, his ERA is up to 3.73 with a 1.16 WHIP and 130:36 K:BB through 20 starts (123 innings) this season. Keller will look to bounce back in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week in San Diego.

Nola (9-6) earned the win against the Brewers on Tuesday after he allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and no walks over 7.1 innings. He struck out six.

The right-hander threw 71 of his 98 pitches for a strike and induced 18 whiffs as he didn't surrender any home runs for just the fourth time through 20 starts this year. The long ball has been a problem for Nola in 2023 with 21 homers allowed after he gave up just 19 all of last season. The 30-year-old has a 4.27 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 126:30 K:BB across 126.1 innings and tentatively lines up to next take the mound this weekend in Cleveland.

The Giants reinstated DeSclafani (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start Tuesday against Cincinnati.

Right shoulder fatigue sent DeSclafani to the IL in early July, and he'll now return to the Giants' rotation after a minimum stay. DeSclafani made a rehab start in rookie ball Thursday, allowing one run on five hits while striking out four batters across four innings. He carries a 4.44 ERA and 1.19 WHIP heading into his start against the slumping Reds.

Brewers manager Craig Counsell said Tuesday that the team is feeling optimistic about Miley's elbow injury, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Miley has been dealing with bone spurs during his last few starts and received a PRP injection immediately after his most recent outing July 9 against the Reds. The Brewers haven't felt a need for imaging on Miley's elbow, indicating that they don't believe the damage to be severe enough to force an extended IL stint.

Double-A Richmond placed Roupp on its 7-day injured list July 4 due to an unspecified injury.

Roupp opened the season on Richmond's development list but had otherwise enjoyed a healthy age-24 campaign before being deactivated two weeks ago. Over his 10 starts at Double-A, Roupp has pitched to a 1.74 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 42:9 K:BB in 31 innings. The Giants haven't provided a timeline for when he might be ready to resume pitching in games.

Brewers manager Craig Counsell said Tuesday that Ashby (shoulder) will begin appearing in rehab games in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League in the near future, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Ashby remains without a clear timeline to make his season debut for Milwaukee, but the Brewers intend to use him out of the bullpen once he completes his rehab assignment, given that working as a reliever will allow for a quicker buildup. The 25-year-old is already in Arizona working his way through a throwing program and has resumed tossing bullpen sessions. He'll likely need to face live hitters in batting practice on a few occasions before the Brewers formally clear him to play in ACL games.

Woodruff (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Wisconsin on Saturday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Woodruff has been on the injured list since mid-April, and he'll now begin ramping up toward a return to the Brewers' rotation. The 30-year-old righty has dealt with recovery issues in between bullpen sessions, but he reportedly felt "great" after his latest session Thursday and remains on track to return around mid-August.
