Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said Thursday that Fried (hamstring) will "definitely" miss his next scheduled start, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

It's not official yet, but Fried is almost certainly headed for a stint on the 15-day injured list after suffering a left hamstring strain in Thursday's season opener against the Nationals. The left-hander is without a clear timeline for his return but shouldn't be expected back until at least mid-April. Ian Anderson and Bryce Elder are the primary options to take the ball in his place next Wednesday at St. Louis.

Burnes (0-1) gave up four earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three over five innings during Thursday's loss to the Cubs.

Burnes started off solid through two innings Thursday, but then allowed four runs in the third inning, which proved to be all that Chicago needed to secure the win. Burnes' three strikeouts also ties his career low (in a start) and adds to an uncharacteristic outing for the former NL Cy Young Award winner.

Stroman (1-0) struck out eight batters and allowed three hits over six scoreless innings while earning the win Thursday against the Brewers.

Things looked a little dicey early on in the game for Stroman as he struggled with control issues and found himself in a bases-loaded scenario in the third inning. However, he was able to force a double-play to get out of it and cruised for another three innings. Stroman projected to be unspectacular in 2023, but a few more similar outings could put his name into fantasy relevancy.

Fried strained his hamstring during Thursday's game against Washington and will likely spend time on the injured list, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

No official decision has been made yet regarding whether or not Fried will head to the IL after suffering the injury during Thursday's Opening Day start. If he does, it would be a big blow to Atlanta's rotation early in the season after the 29-year-old lefty finished 2022 with a 2.48 ERA and 1.01 WHIP.

Corbin (0-1) took the loss after allowing four runs (two earned) on seven hits over three-plus innings during the season opener against Atlanta on Thursday. He had three strikeouts and three walks.

Corbin predictably struggled against Atlanta's deep and dangerous offensive attack and often pitched from behind as he threw a first-pitch strike to just seven of the 20 batters he faced. It's an ominous start to 2023 after going 6-19 with a 6.31 ERA last season. Up next is another tough test at home against the Rays.

The Mets placed Quintana (rib) on the 15-day injured list Thursday.

Quintana is expected to remain sidelined until at least July while he recovers from surgery to repair a stress fracture on the left side of his rib cage. He'll be joined on the IL by Justin Verlander (shoulder), leaving David Peterson and Tylor Megill both in line for rotation spots with the big club to open the season.

Webb (0-1) recorded 12 strikeouts but was handed the loss Thursday against the Yankees after he gave up four earned runs on four hits and two walks across six innings.

Webb tallied a career-high 12 strikeouts, but he served up a solo homer to Aaron Judge in the bottom of the first inning and a two-run shot to Gleyber Torres in the bottom of the fourth. His season debut came to an end when he walked Torres to lead off the bottom of the seventh, and that run came around to score off reliever John Brebbia. Webb will aim to keep the swings-and-misses coming -- but maybe limit the big flies -- in his next scheduled outing on the road against the White Sox.

Gonsolin (ankle) was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday.

Gonsolin is still getting stretched out after missing most of spring training because of a sprained left ankle. The target range for his 2023 debut seems to be late April. Michael Grove has claimed the final spot in the Dodgers' starting rotation with Ryan Pepiot (oblique) also requiring an IL stint.

Grove was recalled Thursday from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Grove was optioned to OKC last week, with Ryan Pepiot initially claiming the final spot in the Dodgers' season-opening starting rotation, but Pepiot is now on the 15-day injured list because of a left oblique strain. Grove figures to start directly in Pepiot's place Monday against the visiting Rockies. The 26-year-old carries fantasy streaming appeal in that matchup.

Fried left Thursday's game against the Nationals in the fourth inning due to a left leg injury, Britt Ghiroli of The Athletic reports.

Fried grabbed his left leg while running to cover first base and appeared to tweak his hamstring. He was able to walk off on his own power, so it may not be too serious. The left-hander surrendered one run on four hits with two strikeouts and no walks over 3.1 innings prior to exiting with the injury. Lucas Luetge has taken over in relief for Atlanta.
