Gonsolin (9-0) earned the win Tuesday against the Reds after giving up two runs on three hits with four strikeouts and one walk over five innings.

The right-hander threw only 58 of his 87 pitches for strikes but generated 19 swinging strikes, as the only damage against him came on solo homers from Jonathan India and Albert Almora. The five-inning effort breaks a streak of six starts of at least six frames for Gonsolin, though he was able to extend his win streak to five consecutive outings. He has a 1.58 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 64:21 K:BB across 68.1 innings this season.

Williams (1-4) allowed three runs on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts in four innings, taking the loss Tuesday versus the Astros.

The damage on Williams' line came on a pair of third-inning home runs. Jose Altuve hit a solo shot and Yordan Alvarez added a two-run blast, which was too much for the Mets to recover from in this contest. Williams has bounced between the bullpen and the rotation, logging six starts in 13 appearances. He owns a 3.86 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, 35:11 K:BB and a blown save in 39.2 innings overall. With Max Scherzer (oblique) nearing a return, Williams is likely to be ticketed back to a long-relief role soon, though he'll remain a top option on the major-league roster to make spot starts when needed.

Flaherty allowed two runs on three hits and five walks while striking out one in three innings. He did not factor into the decision in a 6-2 victory in Milwaukee.

Although Flaherty was facing a 75-pitch limit, the Cardinals hoped he could pitch further into the game than the third inning. However, the righty threw more balls than strikes and was pulled after 71 pitches. He's allowed two earned runs and three hits in three innings in both of his starts since returning from a shoulder injury that cost him the first two months of the season.

Gibson (4-3) took the loss Tuesday in Texas, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out four in 6.1 innings.

Gibson faced the minimum through the first four innings thanks to two double-play groundballs. In the fifth, he gave up back-to-back homers to Nathaniel Lowe and Jonah Heim. One inning later he gave up another run. It marked the second straight start and fourth time in his last nine in which Gibson didn't hand out a single free pass.

The Phillies expect Eflin (knee) to make his next scheduled turn through the rotation Saturday against the Padres, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Eflin was limited to two innings during Sunday's start against Washington due to a lingering right knee bruise, but he may be good to go for his next start. The 28-year-old's bullpen session Thursday will provide further clarity on his status for this weekend in San Diego.

Musgrove (undisclosed) will be reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list to start Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

The 29-year-old cleared the COVID-19 protocols Tuesday and will end up having his turn in the starting rotation pushed back one day due to the brief absence. Musgrove has produced a quality start in each of his 12 outings this season and has a 1.59 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 81:17 K:BB across 79 innings.

Gutierrez (elbow) will throw a bullpen session this week, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Gutierrez was shut down for two weeks in early June after being diagnosed with a first-degree UCL strain in his right elbow. That time period has now expired, and it looks like he's ready for the next step, more or less on schedule.

DeGrom (shoulder) threw a session of live batting practice Tuesday with no issues, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.

The right-hander, who turned 34 years old Sunday, has been throwing bullpen sessions for the past couple weeks, and he's now advancing to facing live hitters. DeGrom should continue ramping up his pitch count in the coming days before embarking on a minor-league rehab assignment.

Dunn (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Dayton on Sunday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Dunn was acquired in a trade with the Mariners in March but has spent the entirety of his time with his new organization recovering from the shoulder strain he suffered last June. He's nearly ready for game action, though given the length of his absence, he'll likely need several rehab outings before being activated off the injured list.
