Elder (1-0) recorded the win in Tuesday's 16-4 rout of the Nationals, giving up three runs on six hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out four without walking a batter.

Making his major-league debut, Elder was sharp overall and threw 50 of 85 pitches for strikes, but he faded in the sixth inning, serving up back-to-back homers to Juan Soto and Josh Bell before a Yadiel Hernandez ground-rule double sent the right-hander to the showers. If Atlanta elects to stick with a six-man rotation for another turn, Elder has likely done enough to earn a second start, but he'd face a tough matchup Monday on the road against the Dodgers.

Corbin (0-2) took the loss in Tuesday's 16-4 rout at the hands of Atlanta, coughing up six runs on nine hits and three walks over 2.2 innings. He struck out three.

The Nationals were hoping Corbin might be able to turn things around in 2022, but through two starts things have not gone well for the veteran southpaw. He's been tagged for eight runs through 6.2 innings with a 7:5 K:BB, and the only really positive takeaway for Corbin is that he has yet to allow a home run after serving up 37 of them last season. He'll try to regain his footing in his next scheduled start Sunday in Pittsburgh.

Luzardo didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Angels, allowing one run on two hits and a walk over five innings while striking out a career-high 12.

The southpaw picked up right where he left off after an impressive spring training, popping 99.2 mph with his second pitch of the game and effectively mixing in his curve, sinker and changeup. Luzardo has struggled to turn his potential into production over the last couple seasons, but the early returns in 2022 suggest the 24-year-old is ready to break out. Luzardo is next scheduled to take the mound Tuesday, at home against the Cardinals.

Wheeler (0-1) took the loss Tuesday as the Phillies fell 2-0 to the Mets, giving up one run on two hits and a walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out three.

The right-hander made only one real mistake before exiting his first start of the season after 65 pitches (44 strikes), but unfortunately for Wheeler, Brandon Nimmo launched it into the seats in right field. Wheeler should get stretched out a little more in his next outing, scheduled for Sunday in Miami.

Megill (2-0) picked up the win in Tuesday's 2-0 victory over the Phillies, scattering three hits over 5.1 scoreless innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.

The right-hander didn't allow a runner past second base in another strong performance. Megill threw 49 of 76 pitches for strikes and has has yet to allow a run through his first 10.1 innings this season while posting an 11:0 K:BB. The 26-year-old has been particularly valuable for a Mets rotation already struggling with injuries, and Megill will look to keep rolling in a potential two-start week beginning Monday at home against the Giants.

Cobb (1-0) got the win in Tuesday's 13-2 victory over the Padres, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts in five innings.

Making his San Francisco debut, Cobb and his new team dominated early as he was staked to a 10-1 lead while recording five of his six outs via strikeout after two innings. Due to the blowout, the 34-year-old was afforded the luxury of going the minimum five innings and tossing an easy 83 pitches. He's set to face the Mets in New York on Monday for an encore.

Darvish (0-1) took the loss during Tuesday's 13-2 defeat at the hands of the Giants, allowing nine runs on eight hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 1.2 innings.

Darvish permitted San Francisco to bat around and score six runs in the first inning before loading the bases and surrendering three more runs in the second. It took 57 pitches to record just five outs, though the outing can perhaps be chalked up as a blip after Darvish was lights-out in his opening start against Arizona. Darvish is slated to pitch next on Sunday Night Baseball against Atlanta.

Quintana (0-1) was charged with the loss against the Cubs on Tuesday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out three over 5.1 innings.

Outfielder Seiya Suzuki took the lefty deep in the fifth inning, the first of two homers off the bat of Suzuki in this one, and that was enough to saddle Quintana with the loss. This was a strong debut in a Pirates uniform, and Quintana had a respectable eight swinging strikes on 71 pitches, but he needs to show more before he can be considered a viable weekly option in mixed leagues.

Gallen (thumb) is expected to start Saturday against the Mets, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

The 26-year-old was scheduled to start Tuesday against the Astros and had the outing pushed back due to a laceration on his right thumb, but he's set to make his season debut just a few days later. Gallen indicated he still could have pitched Tuesday, but the Diamondbacks opted to play it safe and delay his first start of 2022.

Mahle was charged with four runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out four over four innings in a no-decision against the Guardians on Tuesday.

Mahle got the win in Atlanta on Opening Day, but his issues at Great American Ball Park continue. This time it was mostly bad luck -- Mahle struck out Oscar Mercado to begin the third inning, but the pitch got by Tyler Stephenson and Mercado reached base. Mahle committed a fielding error shortly thereafter and then Jose Ramirez drove in two on a triple after Nick Senzel and Tommy Pham collided in the outfield. Mahle needs to put this one behind him in a hurry as a matchup with the mighty Dodgers in Los Angeles looms this weekend.
