Gomber (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports. He is out for the season.

The condition Gomber is dealing with is called spondylolysis or pars defect, a stress fracture of the bones of the lower spine. Gomber ends his first season with Colorado with a 9-9 record, 4.53 ERA and 1.24 WHIP across 115.1 innings. It's uncertain whether he'll be a full go for the start of spring training. Gomber will be transferred to the 60-day IL on Sunday to make room on the 40-man roster for Ryan Feltner.

Brubaker left Saturday's game against the Cubs in the fourth inning with an apparent injury, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

This is a tough break for Brubaker, who was just making his return from a stint on the IL with a thumb issue. It's not clear whether this is related to the thumb or a new injury entirely. Brubaker cruised through his first three innings Saturday before allowing the first two batters to reach in the fourth and also uncorking a wild pitch.

Brubaker (thumb) will be activated from the 10-day injured list to start Saturday's game against the Cubs, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

A right thumb contusion forced Brubaker to the IL on Aug. 25. He will return to action having bypassed a rehab assignment, with the Pirates evidently seeing enough during Brubaker's Sept. 1 side session. Pittsburgh still needs to make a move to clear a roster spot for Brubaker, who sits with a 5.27 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 124:36 K:BB so far this season.

Gutierrez (9-6) took the loss in Friday's 15-5 rout at the hands of the Tigers, giving up four runs (three earned) on four hits and a walk over 3.1 innings. He struck out one.

All four of the hits off Gutierrez went for extra bases, including homers by Jonathan Schoop and Jeimer Candelario. The rookie right-hander has been hit hard in his last two starts and saddled with the loss in three of his last four. Gutierrez has a 4.17 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 76:36 K:BB through 99.1 innings on the season.

DeGrom (elbow) is still likely about 10 days from advancing to bullpen sessions, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

An MRI near the end of August yielded positive results for deGrom, who is recovering from inflammation in his elbow. He is said to be feeling good while throwing on flat ground at 75 feet. However, deGrom still must extend out to 120 feet and show he can handle that before the Mets sign off on him throwing from a mound, and that ramp-up will likely take until mid-September. He would then have to complete multiple bullpen sessions and live BP sessions before returning to action. Per DiComo, the Mets don't expect deGrom to make more than a start or two at the end of the regular season, and any remaining outings for deGrom are likely to be abbreviated.

Peralta (9-4) took the loss against St. Louis on Friday, completing two innings and allowing four runs one three hits and two walks while striking out four.

Peralta returned to action after missing over two weeks with right shoulder inflammation. He wasn't sharp in the brief appearance, as he needed 53 pitches to retire six batters and surrendered four runs for the first time since early May. The right-hander ended his outing on a high note, striking out the final two hitters he faced with a pair of runners in scoring position, but this was otherwise a disappointing outcome both for Peralta and for fantasy managers who roster him. The 25-year-old will look for better results his next time out, which is likely to come at Cleveland late next week.

Wainwright (14-7) allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out four over 6.1 innings to earn the win over Milwaukee on Friday.

The Cardinals have tallied 28 runs in support of Wainwright over his past two starts, allowing the veteran to cruise through relatively stress-free outings. He posted six scoreless innings Friday before the Brewers tagged him for a pair of runs (one of which was unearned) in the seventh, leading to Wainwright's exit after 105 pitches. The 40-year-old continues to defy Father Time, registering a 2.91 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 159:43 K:BB across 176 innings on the campaign while tying for second in MLB with 14 wins. He has gotten stronger as the season has progressed, posting a 1.92 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 7-2 record since the All-Star break. Wainwright's next start is tentatively scheduled to come at home against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Hill didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 6-2 extra-inning win over the Nationals, allowing three hits and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out four.

The veteran lefty tossed 53 of 85 pitches for strikes and appeared headed for his seventh win of the season until Edwin Diaz blew the save in the ninth inning. Hill settled for his sixth quality start -- and first since May 25 -- instead, and he'll carry a 3.92 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 119:45 K:BB through 133 innings into his next outing.

Senzatela (4-9) earned the win over Atlanta on Friday by allowing three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out three over seven innings.

The right-hander threw an efficient 83 pitches -- 56 of which were strikes -- across his seven frames. He surrendered a single run in each of the first and second innings but then kept Atlanta off the scoreboard until the sixth. Senzatela has registered five straight quality starts, posting a 2.45 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 19:5 K:BB across 33 innings over that span. His lack of strikeouts limits his fantasy appeal, but Senzatela has been mostly reliable, yielding no more than four earned runs in 12 of 13 starts since the beginning of June. His next start is likely to come at home versus San Francisco next week.

Ynoa (4-5) suffered the loss against Colorado on Friday, pitching 5.2 innings and allowing four runs on five hits and one walk while striking out five.

The right-hander nearly notched a quality start, but a pair of two-out sixth-inning base knocks resulted in the Rockies' decisive fourth run and Ynoa's subsequent exit. He has taken the loss in four of his past five starts and has not picked up a win since May 9 against the Phillies. Ynoa still holds a strong 3.19 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 71:17 K:BB across 67.2 innings on the season, however, and appears to have a secure spot in the rotation. He's likely to face Washington at home next week.
