Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Gray (shoulder) will not be joining the Dodgers' rotation "in the near future," Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

The righty has only thrown simulated games since suffering a shoulder impingement in early May, and he will be re-evaluated "down the road," according to Roberts. Considering Gray's standing as a top organizational prospect, the Dodgers will certainly exercise caution in timing his return to game action.

Peterson (side) was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday.

The left-hander was pulled from Wednesday's start versus Atlanta with soreness in his right side, and the severity of the injury remains unclear. Peterson will be eligible to return July 11, the last day before the All-Star break, though it's more likely he won't return until after the midseason festivities since that lines up as Jacob deGrom's turn through the rotation.

Stroman (personal) was reinstated from the bereavement list Friday.

The 30-year-old has been away from the team for the past few days following the death of his grandmother, but he's returned to the active roster ahead of his scheduled start Saturday. Stroman made six starts in June and posted a 2.40 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 32:11 K:BB across 30 innings.

Alcantara will start Saturday against Atlanta instead of Sunday as previously scheduled, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.

The right-hander pitched last Sunday versus the Nationals and surrendered five runs (four earned over 5.1 innings, and he'll switch spots in the rotation with Zach Thompson this weekend. The move shouldn't have any broader implications for Alcantara, since he still lines up for one additional start before the All-Star break, which begins July 12.

Gonsolin (1-0) earned the win in relief Thursday against the Nationals after tossing three innings of one-run ball, giving up two hits and three walks while fanning four. He also tossed a wild pitch.

The right-hander filled a bulk relief role after two hurlers, Victor Gonzalez and Phil Bickford, combined to pitch the opening frame. Gonsolin earned his first win of the season and while he's yet to pitch more than four innings in any of his appearances, he's been limiting the damage and owns a 2.81 ERA across 16 innings of work. He's slated to take the mound next week on the road against the Marlins, but it's not clear whether he will get the start or follow an opener again.

Corbin (5-7) was tagged with the loss Thursday against the Dodgers after allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits and a walk while fanning two across 4.2 innings.

Corbin looked in control through the first three innings but the wheels came off shortly after, and he was lifted after giving up a grand slam to Max Muncy -- the second homer the lefty served up that inning. Corbin was coming off back-to-back quality starts, but he was unable to repeat that feat against one of the best offenses in the National League. The 31-year-old now owns a 4.58 ERA over six starts since the beginning of June and is scheduled to pitch again next week on the road against the Padres.

Castillo allowed three earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six across 6.1 innings in the win over the Padres on Thursday. He did not factor into the decision.

Castillo shut out the Padres through four innings before allowing one run in the fifth inning and a pair in the seventh inning. The 28-year-old has a 2.30 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP with five quality starts over his last seven appearances. However, prior to those seven starts, he had a 7.22 ERA in her first 11 starts. He will look to continue his recent success in his next start, scheduled for Tuesday against Kansas City.

Anderson allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out a pair across seven innings in the win Thursday. He did not factor into the decision.

Anderson allowed a run in the first inning on a Michael Conforto and surrendered a solo home run in the seventh frame to Dominic Smith. His two strikeouts were a season low, but he still posted his second quality start in a row and was in line for the win before the bullpen blew it. The 23-year-old has a 3.35 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP in 88.2 innings. He has a 2.45 ERA in 18.1 innings over his last three starts.

Gomber (forearm) threw a bullpen session Thursday, Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette reports.

Gomber felt good after his bullpen Thursday, and he's expected to have another bullpen session in the coming days before beginning a rehab assignment. The southpaw has been on the injured list since June 20 due to forearm tightness, but he could return sometime around the All-Star break if he can remain on track in his recovery.

Wainwright pitched eight innings in a 5-2 loss to Colorado on Thursday, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk with four strikeouts. He didn't factor into the decision.

Wainwright was excellent once again, surrendering both earned runs on a Brendan Rodgers home run, but it wasn't enough to bring home the victory. The veteran has been enjoying a renaissance as he's now thrown six straight quality starts, going a total of 41 innings with a 2.41 ERA and more strikeouts than baserunners allowed in the stretch.
