The right-hander's fifth-inning troubles arose after Gavin Lux singled and advanced to third on a two-base error. AJ Pollock then swatted an RBI double, followed by an RBI triple by Mookie Betts. That's where the night would end for Brubaker, with two outs and a runner on third who would soon score on the bullpen's behalf. Overall, the 27-year-old threw 80 pitches, including 50 for strikes. On the season, Brubaker has compiled a 3.90 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. He's tentatively scheduled for a road start at Milwaukee on Sunday.

Gray was removed from Tuesday's loss to the Brewers due to tightness in his right groin, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The right-hander struck out five over three scoreless frames before he was pulled after experiencing tightness while warming up for the fourth inning. Gray will undergo an MRI on Wednesday to determine the severity of the injury, leaving his status for his next turn through the rotation up in the air.

Buehler (5-0) earned the win Tuesday after blanking the Pirates across seven innings. He allowed two hits and a walk while striking out two.

Despite an uncharacteristically season-low two punchouts, it was another gem of a performance for Buehler, who blanked his opponent for the third time this season while pitching at least seven innings for the fifth time. The 26-year-old did have a close call in the first frame after Ke'Bryan Hayes swatted a foul pole-hugging solo home run, which was reversed after the official replay review showed Hayes failing to tag first base. With the win, Buehler extends his streak of regular-season starts without a loss to 20, the longest in the majors, while his WHIP of 0.91 checks in at 11th overall. Buehler lines up to make his next start at home Sunday against Texas.

Gray was removed from Tuesday's start versus the Brewers with an apparent injury, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The 31-year-old showed some discomfort while throwing his warmup pitches for the fourth inning, and he was pulled after receiving a look from the athletic trainer. Gray gave up two hits with five strikeouts and zero walks over three scoreless frames before being forced to exit due to the undisclosed issue.

Gray (elbow) is traveling with the team and will start playing catch Wednesday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Manager Bud Black has expressed optimism about Gray's elbow soreness. Gray landed on the injured list June 5, but since he has no structural damage, he should be on track to return in the near future.

Manager Dave Roberts confirmed Tuesday that Gonsolin (shoulder) will be activated from the 60-day injured list to start Wednesday's game against Pittsburgh, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

It was reported Sunday that the Dodgers were expected to activate Gonsolin to make his 2021 debut Wednesday. Roberts confirmed that the right-hander will take the ball during Game 2 of the three-game set, though it's not yet known how the club will make room for him on the 26-man and 40-man rosters. Gonsolin posted a strong 2.31 ERA and 0.84 WHIP across 46.2 innings last season.

Garrett was recalled Tuesday from Triple-A Jacksonville.

The southpaw fills the roster spot of Daniel Castano (shoulder), whom the Marlins placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, and figures to start Wednesday's game in Castano's stead. Having held his opponents scoreless in two of his last three minor-league starts, Garrett appears to be a capable fill-in for the Marlins' rotation.

The Pirates reinstated Keller from the COVID-19-related injured list prior to Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, Jake Crouse of MLB.com reports.

Keller was placed on the COVID-19-related injured list prior to Sunday's game against Miami. The right-hander left his Friday start with what was described as a heat-related illness, though it's still not clear whether that's at all related to his brief stint on the injured list. In any case, Keller is back with the Pirates and should remain in line to start Thursday against Los Angeles.

Cabrera (biceps) will make another rehab start for Low-A Jupiter on Friday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Having impressed Sunday in his first rehab appearance, Cabrera appears to be nearing his return to Triple-A Jacksonville. The righty is one of the Marlins' most prized pitching prospects, so they'll surely exercise caution in timing his recovery from biceps inflammation in his throwing arm.

Sanchez was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.

Sanchez was recalled prior to Sunday's game against the Nationals and wound up making his major-league debut during the contest. He tossed 1.1 innings of scoreless ball, striking out two along the way. Despite the successful first big-league outing, he'll head back to Triple-A for the time being.
