Mikolas (shoulder) is scheduled for a rehab start with Triple-A Memphis on Sunday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Mikolas made his second rehab appearance Tuesday and allowed three runs on five hits and no walks while striking out five in four innings. He'll presumably attempt to build up more in Sunday's start and could make his 2021 big-leagu debut as early as the following weekend against the Cubs if everything goes smoothly.

May (elbow) announced Wednesday via his personal Twitter account that he underwent Tommy John surgery in Los Angeles.

May's procedure was performed by the renowned Dr. Neal ElAttrache. The elbow surgery spells a disappointing end to what was potentially shaping up to be a breakout season for May, who posted a 2.74 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 35 strikeouts in 23 innings through his first five starts. The 23-year-old isn't expected to be ready to pitch for the Dodgers until the summer of 2022.

The Cardinals list Oviedo as their probable starter for Friday's game against the Padres.

Unless he's needed in relief for the final two games of St. Louis' ongoing series with the Brewers, Oviedo will slot into the rotation this weekend as a replacement for Carlos Martinez (ankle), who was moved to the 10-day injured list Tuesday. Oviedo performed respectably in his three outings (two starts) with St. Louis earlier this season, but he was bashed in his most recent appearance at Triple-A Memphis on Sunday, surrendering five earned runs over 2.2 innings.

Gray was scratched minutes before his scheduled start Tuesday for Triple-A Oklahoma City for unclear reasons, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports. "When a starter, certainly a top prospect is scratched from a start, we've got to do some testing, and I don't know if we've done that yet," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said.

Roberts was vague about the circumstances behind Gray's scratch, but the skipper seemed to hint that the 23-year-old right-hander was pulled off the start due to an injury or for COVID-19-related reasons rather than a potential call-up to the big leagues. For what it's worth, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports that Roberts admitted the Dodgers discussed calling up Gray to provide reinforcement for a banged-up rotation, but Roberts noted that the Los Angeles would have to "shelve [that idea] for a little bit" in light of Gray being scratched. Expect a clearer update on Gray's situation to come within the next couple of days.

Senzatela (1-4) allowed four earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four across five innings, taking the loss to the Padres on Tuesday.

Senzatela struggled in his first start off the injured list Tuesday. His outing was capped off by a two-run home run by Manny Machado in the fifth inning. The 26-year-old has only two quality starts this season, allowing one run in 14 innings in those outings. However, he has a 9.15 ERA in 20.2 innings otherwise.

Buehler completed seven innings in a no-decision against Seattle on Tuesday, allowing four runs on four hits and one walk while striking out eight.

The right-hander gave up only four hits in the outing, but three of them left the yard. Mitch Haniger touched up Buehler for two of the long balls, and the other came off the bat of Kyle Seager. Despite the homers, Buehler had a strong performance overall, collecting eight strikeouts and inducing 17 swings-and-misses. His strikeout numbers were down early in the campaign, but Buehler has now racked up at least eight K's in four straight contests. He has yet to complete less than six innings in a start this season, compiling five quality starts over his seven outings. Buehler's next start is tentatively scheduled for Sunday at home against Miami.

Lopez (0-3) took the loss against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, pitching 4.1 innings and allowing six runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out three.

The right-hander entered the contest having given up just one earned run over his previous 24 innings, but he was unable to maintain the momentum against Arizona. Most of the damage against Lopez was done in the fifth inning, when he allowed five baserunners and got his only out via a sacrifice fly. Lopez ended up being charged with five runs in the frame, pushing his season ERA up to 3.07. That's a solid mark in spite of Lopez's 0-3 record, and he has thus far produced six strong starts versus two clunkers. Lopez's next outing is likely to come this weekend on the road against the Dodgers.

Anderson (2-3) picked up the win in Tuesday's 6-2 victory over the Nationals, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk over five-plus innings. He struck out five.

The veteran right-hander lasted the bare minimum to qualify for the win, but he seemed to be in control while blanking Washington for five innings. However, after serving up a solo shot to Trea Turner and then walking Juan Soto to lead off the sixth, he got a quick hook. Anderson tossed 52 of 85 pitches for strikes, and he'll carry a 5.23 ERA and 26:15 K:BB through 31 innings into his next outing.

Brubaker (3-2) picked up the win Tuesday in a 7-2 victory over the Reds, giving up one run on five hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out four.

The second-year right-hander has yet to allow more than three runs in any of his outings this season, although Tuesday's effort was only his third quality start. Brubaker sports a 2.58 ERA and 41:9 K:BB through 38.1 innings as he prepares for his next trip to the mound.

Peralta allowed one hit and one walk while striking out eight across seven scoreless innings Tuesday against the Cardinals. He did not factor into the decision.

Peralta dominated the Cardinals by piling up 17 swinging strikes across 97 total pitches in his longest outing of the campaign. Despite finishing six innings only three times, Peralta has punched out at least seven hitters in all seven of the games he's started this season. The result is a strong 2.77 ERA with a 61:18 K:BB across 39 innings. Peralta currently lines up to make his next start Sunday against Atlanta.
