  • Dustin May SP | MIL

Dodgers' Dustin May: Exits after comebacker hits foot

May exited Thursday's game prior to the second inning after being hit on the foot by a comebacker in the first, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Josh Rojas lined an infield single off May's foot in the first inning, but the right-hander was able to convince Dave Roberts and the medical staff to allow him to stay in the game. The right-hander went out to warm up prior to the second, but was replaced by Victor Gonzalez after appearing to not be moving well. The extent of the injury is not yet known.

  • Chris Paddack RP | TEX

Padres' Chris Paddack: Removed from Thursday's game

Paddack was removed from Thursday's game against the Giants at the start of the third inning for an undisclosed reason, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The only sign of injury for the right-hander was a drop in fastball velocity from 94-95 mph in the first inning to 91-92 mph in the second, according to Acee. He punched out four and allowed a solo homer to Wilmer Flores before departing.

  • Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Heads to IL with blister

Buehler (blister) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday, retroactive to Sept. 9.

The blister issue emerged during the right-hander's outing Wednesday in which he lasted just 2.2 innings against the Diamondbacks. The Dodgers were hopeful that he would be able to make his next scheduled start, but now he will miss at least one turn through the rotation. He will be eligible to be activated from the injured list Sept. 20.

  • Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin: Considered available out of bullpen

Manager Dave Roberts announced Thursday that Gonsolin is currently considered available out of the bullpen, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Although Roberts said Gonsolin is available out of the bullpen if needed, the right-hander seems to be a strong candidate to start Sunday's game against the Astros. Gonsolin holds a stellar 0.76 ERA across 23.2 innings pitched on the campaign.

  • Julio Urias SP | LAD

Dodgers' Julio Urias: Set to start Saturday

Urias will start Saturday's game against the Astros, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

The southpaw is coming off a shaky outing in which he allowed four runs over 4.1 innings against the Rockies, so he will certainly be looking to work deeper into the game Saturday against Houston. The 24-year-old is 3-0 with a 3.86 ERA to go along with 35 strikeouts on the campaign.

  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Reds' Wade Miley: Sore following side session

Miley (shoulder) was sorer than anticipated following Wednesday's side session and isn't expected to return over the weekend, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Initial reports from Miley's throwing session were positive, but he's facing a delay in his return after feeling some soreness Thursday. Manager David Bell said that he doesn't expect him back over the weekend following his step back in his recovery. A timetable for his return hasn't yet been established.

  • Reds' Lyon Richardson: Joins 60-man player pool

Richardson was added to the Reds' 60-man player pool Thursday, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

A second-round pick in 2018, Richardson has yet to really turn heads as a prospect. Last year he logged a 4.15 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 106 strikeouts in 112.2 innings at Low-A.

  • Drew Smyly SP | CHC

Giants' Drew Smyly: Reinstated from IL

Smyly (finger) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Trevor Cahill is starting Thursday, so perhaps Smyly will piggyback him as a lefty following a righty, or he could enter the rotation later this week. He had a 3.24 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 11 strikeouts in 8.1 innings prior to hitting the IL.

  • Colin Rea SP | CHC

Cubs' Colin Rea: Optioned to alternate camp

Rea was optioned to the Cubs' alternate training site Thursday, Maddie Lee of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

Rea was recently demoted to the bullpen after Adbert Alzolay was named the starter for Thursday's contest. However, he'll now report to South Bend. It appears as though the Cubs will continue to use Alzolay in their rotation while Jose Quintana (lat) and Tyler Chatwood (forearm) remain sidelined, though Rea will be one of the Cubs' top options to fill in if further injuries occur to their pitching staff.

  • Huascar Ynoa SP | LAA

Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Back in majors

Ynoa was recalled from Atlanta's alternate training site Thursday.

He takes the roster spot of Tommy Milone (elbow inflammation). Ynoa could work in a multi-inning role out of the bullpen in the short term.
