Julio Urias SP | LAD
Dodgers' Julio Urias: Slated for three innings again
Manager Dave Roberts said he's expecting Urias to cover three innings in the lefty's start Sunday against the Giants, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
In his return from a 20-game suspension Sept. 3, Urias started and tossed three innings of one-run ball, but he didn't factor into the decision in the 5-3 win over the Rockies. The Dodgers apparently aren't keen on having Urias dramatically increase his pitch count in his eighth start of the season, likely as a means of limiting the strain on the 23-year-old's surgically repaired shoulder. Urias can likely still be counted on to deliver strong ratios whenever he pitches, but he may have a tough time capturing wins since he won't be asked to work deep into starts. Kenta Maeda is slated to enter the game behind Urias as a bulk reliever and may be a better candidate to factor into any decision.

Brandon Woodruff SP | MIL
Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Completes simulated game
Woodruff (oblique) tossed two simulated innings Sunday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Sidelined since late July with the left oblique strain, Woodruff looks to be nearing the finish line in his recovery from the injury now that he's resumed mound work. Woodruff may not have time to head out on a proper minor-league rehab assignment before returning from the injured list, but the Brewers are still counting on him rejoining the roster in the back half of September. Milwaukee hasn't defined Woodruff's role once he returns, but even if he takes back a spot in the rotation, he would likely face a more limited pitch count in his starts than he had previously.

Logan Webb SP | SF
Giants' Logan Webb: Will have start pushed back
Webb, who was originally slated to pitch Tuesday against the Pirates, will have his start moved back with Johnny Cueto (elbow) returning from the injured list for that contest, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The Giants did not announce when Webb's next start will take place, nor whether his next appearance would even come as a starter. The rookie has been inconsistent through four starts (6.50 ERA with a 9.0 K/9), but his fellow young, back-end starters Dereck Rodriguez (5.15 ERA over 87.1 innings) and Tyler Beede (5.33 ERA over 101.1 innings) haven't fared much better. Expect the club to make an official announcement on the rotation in the coming days.

Joey Lucchesi RP | LAA
Padres' Joey Lucchesi: Blanks Rockies for 10th win
Lucchesi (10-7) picked up the win in Saturday's 3-0 victory over the Rockies, giving up two hits and five walks over six scoreless innings while striking out eight.
The southpaw retired the first 10 batters he faced before his control began to desert him, but despite having runners in scoring position in each of his final three frames, Lucchesi kept Colorado off the board. He'll take a 3.84 ERA and 143:52 K:BB through 150 innings into his next start Thursday, at home against the Cubs.

Julio Teheran SP | BAL
Braves' Julio Teheran: Dominates Nats for 10th win
Teheran (10-8) picked up the win in Saturday's 5-4 victory over the Nationals, giving up one run on three hits and a walk over six innings while striking out eight.
The Atlanta bullpen made things interesting after he hit the showers, but Teheran was sharp once again in winning his third straight decision and delivering his fourth straight quality start. The right-hander has a 1.08 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 26:11 K:BB through 25 innings over that four-start stretch, and he'll look to keep rolling in his next outing Thursday in Philadelphia.

Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Mets' Marcus Stroman: Unlucky against Phillies
Stroman (7-13) took the loss Saturday as the Mets fell 5-0 to the Phillies, giving up five runs (four earned) on 10 hits over four innings while striking out six.
Only two of the hits -- a leadoff homer by Cesar Hernandez, and a fourth-inning double by Corey Dickerson -- went for extra bases while three of them never left the infield, but with the Mets' offense falling silent, Stroman had no margin for error. The right-hander now has a 1-2 record with a 5.05 ERA and 37:14 K:BB through 35.2 innings since the trade that brought him over from Toronto, and he'll look for a better result in his next start Thursday, at home against Arizona.

Drew Smyly SP | CHC
Phillies' Drew Smyly: Shuts down Mets for fourth win
Smyly (4-6) picked up the win Saturday, allowing four hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings while striking out six in a 5-0 victory over the Mets.
The southpaw tossed 70 of 108 pitches for strikes en route to his third win, and third quality start, in nine trips to the mound as a Phillie. Smyly now sports a 3.93 ERA and 52:17 K:BB through 50.1 innings with his new club, and he'll look to come up big again in his next outing Thursday, at home against Atlanta.

Dustin May SP | MIL
Dodgers' Dustin May: Returns with clean inning
May (head) tossed a perfect sixth inning in Saturday's 1-0 loss to the Giants.
It was May's first appearance since getting hit with a line drive last Sunday, and he kept it clean in a close ballgame. The 22-year-old now has a 4.91 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 25.2 innings over seven appearances (four starts) this year. It's expected May will work out of the bullpen going forward with Rich Hill (forearm) set to return to the rotation Thursday. May might find work behind an opener or in longer relief assignments given his background as a starter.

Adam Wainwright SP | STL
Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Last seven innings again
Wainwright (11-9) allowed one run on six hits with one walk and three strikeouts across seven innings while picking up a victory against the Pirates on Saturday.
Since only lasting 3.2 innings on Aug. 26, Wainwright has given up just one run in his last two starts combined, both of which he pitched seven innings. This mini two-game hot streak has pushed Wainwright to two games above .500 and cut about 0.35 runs from his ERA. He owns a 4.16 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 134 strikeouts in 149.1 innings this season. Wainwright will be back on the mound Friday at home against the Brewers.

Tony Gonsolin RP | KC
Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin: Takes loss in short outing
Gonsolin (2-2) allowed one run on two hits and four walks whole striking out five in four innings to take the loss against the Giants on Saturday.
Gonsolin made a mess of the first inning, loading the bases with two singles and a walk. He then allowed a run on Kevin Pillar's groundout, which would account for the only run of the game. The 25-year-old would only allow two more walks over the next three innings. He's pitched to a 2.81 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 32 innings this season. With the return of Rich Hill (forearm) to the rotation Thursday, Gonsolin's next start is expected to come on six days rest versus the Mets next Saturday.
