Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Blanks Nats for 10th win
Syndergaard (10-7) picked up the win in Monday's 7-3 victory over the Nationals, giving up three hits over seven scoreless innings while striking out 10.
Tyler Bashlor spoiled the potential combined shutout in the ninth inning, but that took nothing away from Thor's dominant afternoon. It's the third time this year the right-hander has whiffed double-digit batters, and Syndergaard will take a 3.97 ERA and 171:43 K:BB through 170 innings into his next start Sunday, at home against the Phillies.

Brandon Woodruff SP | MIL
Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Fires another bullpen
Woodruff (oblique) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Woodruff ramped up the intensity Monday after taking it easy in his previous bullpen session Friday, which was his first since landing on the injured list with a left oblique strain. The right-hander incorporated his entire arsenal and reported no issues afterwards. He's hoping to rejoin the Brewers sometime during the second-half of September.

Julio Urias SP | LAD
Dodgers' Julio Urias: Back from suspension
Urias was reinstated from the restricted list Monday.
Urias is back after serving a 20-game ban for violating Major League Baseball's Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy. He appears to be back as a reliever for now, but he could receive some starts before the end of the season and could also fill that role in the playoffs.

Miles Mikolas RP | WAS
Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Quality start against Reds
Mikolas allowed three runs on four hits over six innings in a no-decision against the Reds in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader. He struck out five and did not issue a walk.
The only real blemish was a two-run shot off the bat of Eugenio Suarez in the third inning. That continued a year-long trend; Mikolas has seen his opponents' hard-hit rate jump significantly and in turn his home-run rate is up from 0.72 HR/9 to 1.29. He still has great numbers at home (2.91 ERA), but a 6.11 ERA away from Busch Stadium. Mikolas is on the road in Pittsburgh for his next start before a trip to Colorado the week of Sept. 9.

Tyler Mahle SP | ATL
Reds' Tyler Mahle: Strong effort in return
Mahle was charged with two runs (one earned) on two hits over 6.1 innings in a no-decision against the Cardinals in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader. He struck out five and did not issue a walk.
Mahle got 10 swinging strikes on 90 pitches and did not hand out a free pass, bringing his walk rate down to just 5.7 percent this season. It was an encouraging step forward for Mahle after he was injured and then demoted. He may not be a regular in the rotation yet, but the Reds will likely work Mahle in for a few more turns before the end of the season.

Zach Eflin SP | BAL
Phillies' Zach Eflin: Allows one run in no-decision
Eflin allowed one run on three hits and a walk in seven innings against the Mets on Sunday but did not factor into the decision. He struck out three.
Eflin's chief mistake was a fastball that Pete Alonso deposited over the left field wall for a solo home run in the first inning. He was nearly flawless for the remainder of his seven innings, allowing only three additional baserunners on a pair of hits and a walk. Although he whiffed just three batters, Eflin was in control of the zone most of the night, throwing a first-pitch strike to 18 of 24 hitters. The 25-year-old has allowed only three runs in 13 innings over his last two starts and will get a chance to build upon the momentum when he heads to New York to face the Mets on Friday in his next scheduled start.
-
Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Mets' Marcus Stroman: Whiffs six in no-decision
Stroman did not factor into the decision against Philadelphia on Sunday, completing six innings and giving up two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six.
Stroman gave up a pair of runs in the second inning but quieted the Phillies the rest of the way, fanning six batters and tying a season high by inducing 18 swinging strikes. The 28-year-old has compiled a 4.55 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 31:14 K:BB over 31.2 innings since joining the Mets at the trade deadline. His next scheduled start will come at home against the Phillies on Saturday.

Julio Teheran SP | BAL
Braves' Julio Teheran: Wins in shaky outing
Teheran (9-8) allowed two runs on three hits and four walks over six innings Sunday, striking out five batters and earning the win over the White Sox.
Oddly enough, the only two runs to score on Teheran scored on a single by opposing pitcher Lucas Giolito. In his last four outings, the 6-foot-2 righty owns a 20:13 K:BB in just 20.1 innings. He also lowered his ERA slightly to 3.38. Teheran will host the Nationals on Saturday.
-
Luis Castillo SP | CHW
Reds' Luis Castillo: Notches 14th victory
Castillo (14-5) earned the win against St. Louis on Sunday, pitching six innings and giving up three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out eight.
Castillo gave up all three runs in a difficult third inning that included a home run, a triple and three free passes but otherwise held the Cardinals at bay to earn his 14th victory. The 26-year-old tossed his 18th quality start of the season while hurling six or more innings for the 13th time in his last 16 outings. He'll carry a 3.25 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 198:66 K:BB into his next scheduled start, at home against Arizona on Saturday.

Ross Stripling SP | KC
Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Tosses three scoreless innings
Stripling threw three shutout innings Sunday, allowing two hits while striking out two in the win over Arizona. He did not factor into the decision.
In his first MLB action since July 24, Stripling needed just 31 pitches to cruise through three solid innings. Down the stretch, his role is a bit unclear; he's expected to move to the bullpen but could make a few spot starts as well.
