Corbin Burnes SP | ARI
Brewers' Corbin Burnes: Nearing rehab stint
Burnes (shoulder) could begin a rehab assignment later in the week, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Burnes was sent to the 10-day injured list July 15 due to right shoulder irritation, but the Brewers are hopeful that he'll see minor-league action sometime this week. Considering his absence has been brief, he may need only one or two outings before being activated.

Cole Hamels SP | SD
Cubs' Cole Hamels: Beginning rehab stint Tuesday
Hamels (oblique) will start Tuesday's game at Triple-A Iowa, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Hamels fired a bullpen session Wednesday, and the Cubs have finally revealed the next step in his recovery process. It remains to be seen how many outings he'll need in the minor leagues prior to being reinstated from the 10-day injured list, though Chicago will re-evaluate the southpaw following Tuesday's appearance. Hamels is expected to fire around 40 pitches, per Gonzales.

Pablo Lopez SP | MIN
Marlins' Pablo Lopez: Tossing side session Wednesday
Lopez (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Lopez was sent to the injured list with a right shoulder strain, but he's set to throw a side session later in the week. The Marlins have yet to reveal a concrete timetable for his return, though this is certainly a positive sign for the right-hander.

Zack Wheeler SP | PHI
Mets' Zack Wheeler: Could return Friday
Wheeler (shoulder) is tentatively scheduled to return from the injured list Friday against the Pirates, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
Wheeler is dealing with some ill-timed shoulder fatigue right as the Mets were expected to be shopping him ahead of the trade deadline. His exact return date remains uncertain, but he appears to be on the right track after a successful bullpen session Sunday.

Brandon Woodruff SP | MIL
Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Expected to miss six weeks
Woodruff (oblique) is expected to be out for around six weeks, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Woodruff landed on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain Monday. A more precise timeline should emerge soon following an exam and an MRI. The six-week timeline would have Woodruff return in early September. If he's delayed any longer than that, the Brewers could elect to have him return as a reliever, a role he thrived in during the playoffs last season.

Tyler Mahle SP | ATL
Reds' Tyler Mahle: Placed on injured list
Mahle was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain Monday.
Mahle suffered the injury during his start Friday against the Cardinals. The injury doesn't appear to be a particularly severe one, as he initially hoped to make his next scheduled start Wednesday against the Brewers and was able to throw Sunday. Sal Romano was recalled in a corresponding move, though he's predominantly been a reliever with Triple-A Louisville this season, so another move may be coming prior to Wednesday's contest.

Brandon Woodruff SP | MIL
Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Placed on injured list
Woodruff was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain Monday.
Woodruff left his start Sunday against the Diamondbacks with the injury. His return timeline is not yet clear. Burch Smith was recalled to take his place on the roster, though his replacement in the rotation has yet to be announced.

Nick Lodolo SP | CIN
Reds' Nick Lodolo: Moves up to full-season ball
Lodolo will start for Low-A Dayton on Thursday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
Lodolo made six short starts at the rookie-league level, recording a 2.38 ERA and an incredible 21:0 K:BB in 11.1 innings. The Reds will move quickly to get the seventh-overall pick a more challenging assignment.

Jackson Rutledge RP | PHI
Nationals' Jackson Rutledge: Finding footing in pros
Rutledge struck out three over four perfect innings for short-season Auburn on Sunday.
The Nats' first-round pick in this year's draft, Rutledge made all of one start in the Gulf Coast League before getting bumped up to the New York-Penn League, and the right-hander was absolutely dazzling in his third appearance for the Doubledays. Given his intimidating 6-foot-8 frame and advanced arsenal that includes a mid-90s fastball and three off-speed pitches, the 20-year-old Rutledge could get another promotion before the year is out if he continues dominating.

Trevor Rogers SP | BAL
Marlins' Trevor Rogers: On fire for Jupiter
Rogers gave up two runs on four hits and a walk over seven innings while striking out six for High-A Jupiter on Sunday.
The 21-year-old southpaw has been nearly untouchable over his last seven starts, posting a 1.54 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 56:7 K:BB through 46.2 innings over that stretch. Rogers is exploding up prospect lists with a breakout season, as he's been able to hold his velocity deeper into games and improve his command and control from his shaky debut last year. He still needs to sharpen his off-speed pitches if he's going to become even a mid-rotation starter in the majors, but given his 6-foot-6 frame and arsenal, his James Paxton-like upside is starting to come into focus.
