Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Braves' Kevin Gausman: Tosses quality start in return
Gausman (3-5) earned the win against Washington on Sunday, hurling seven innings and giving up one run on five hits and no walks while striking out eight.
In his first major-league start since landing on the injured list due to plantar fasciitis June 11, Gausman stifled the Nationals through seven innings, allowing only a trio of singles. He exited after allowing back-to-back hits leading off the eighth, with one of those baserunners coming around to score the only run charged to Gausman in the game. The 28-year-old was successful largely due to his efficiency, as he threw 63 of 83 pitches for strikes and did not walk a batter for only the second time this season. Gausman struggled to the tune of a 6.21 ERA prior to his stint on the IL but posted a 2.87 ERA and 5-3 record in 10 starts with Atlanta last season. He'll look to build upon Sunday's gem in his next scheduled start, a road battle against the Phillies on Saturday.

German Marquez SP | SD
Rockies' German Marquez: Beats Yankees
Marquez (9-5) allowed two runs on three hits with two walks and five strikeouts across seven innings while earning a victory against the Yankees on Sunday.
This was how owners were hoping Marquez would respond after yielding 11 runs in 2.2 innings during his last start. After such a terrible performance, Marquez couldn't possibly bring his numbers back to where they were after one good start, but this was a step in the right direction. He has a 4.99 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 133 strikeouts in 137 innings this season. Marquez will pitch next in Cincinnati on Friday.

Zack Wheeler SP | PHI
Mets' Zack Wheeler: Likely to return against Pittsburgh
Wheeler (shoulder) is expected to return from the injured list during New York's upcoming weekend series against the Pirates, which runs from July 26 to July 28, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
While the Mets have yet to confirm this, Wheeler tossed a bullpen session Sunday, which means he's likely closing in on a return from the shelf. More information on the right-hander's status should surface later in the week.

Steven Matz RP | TB
Mets' Steven Matz: Fans six in no-decision
Matz allowed two runs on six hits and a walk over six innings Sunday, striking out six during a no-decision in the loss to the Giants.
After bouncing around between the starting rotation and the bullpen, Marx posted his longest outing since June 14. The 28-year-old has allowed four runs in 10 innings since rejoining the rotation after the All-Star break. He'll carry a 4.75 ERA into Saturday's home start against the Pirates.

Walker Buehler SP | SD
Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Fans 11 in seven dominant innings
Buehler (9-1) tossed seven shutout innings to earn the win Sunday against the Marlins, allowing five hits with no walks and 11 strikeouts.
Buehler was in top form in this one, throwing 76 percent of his pitches for strikes as he notched double-digit punchouts for the third time this season. He kept hitters off balance as he recorded 23 swinging strikes and allowed just one extra-base hit. Buehler has now completed three consecutive quality starts, totaling 27 strikeouts and three walks in that span. He'll look to continue his recent dominance in his next start on the road against the Nationals.

Brandon Woodruff SP | MIL
Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Headed for injured list
Woodruff is expected to be placed on the 10-day injured list due to a left oblique injury, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Woodruff suffered the injury during Sunday's start, and though he was originally diagnosed with abdominal discomfort, it's since been announced that he's dealing with an oblique issue. He's set to undergo an MRI on Monday, at which point a timetable for his return should become more clear.

Carlos Martinez SP | SF
Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Registers eighth save
Martinez picked up the save after allowing a walk and striking out one over a scoreless inning Sunday against the Reds.
Martinez retired the first two batters of the inning before issuing a walk. He then managed to end the contest with a strikeout. Martinez has struggled of late (five runs allowed over his last four appearances), so it was good to see him get back on track with a scoreless frame Sunday.

Anthony DeSclafani RP | ARI
Reds' Anthony DeSclafani: Saddled with fifth loss
DeSclafani (5-5) was hit with the loss after giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out 11 over six innings Sunday against the Cardinals.
DeSclafani gave up a pair of runs in the second inning, and that was all the Cardinals would need to come away with a win in the series finale. The 29-year-old right-hander has been solid of late, allowing just six earned runs over his last four outings (23.2 innings).
-
Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Goes seven innings in loss
Hendricks (7-8) yielded two runs on four hits and two walks over seven innings Sunday, striking out five and taking the loss against San Diego.
After four scoreless innings to start the afternoon, Fernando Tatis Jr. tagged Hendricks with an RBI single in the fifth before Francisco Mejia put the team ahead on a seventh-inning solo shot. It was another quality start for Hendricks, who simply didn't get much help from his offense. He'll carry a 3.41 ERA into Saturday's start in Milwaukee.

Trevor Williams RP | TEX
Pirates' Trevor Williams: Confirmed as Monday's starter
Williams (illness) will start Monday's game against the Cardinals, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Williams was forced to skip Saturday's start due to flu-like symptoms, but he's cleared to pitch Monday.
