Michael Lorenzen RP | TOR
Reds' Michael Lorenzen: Picks up save in extras
Lorenzen recorded the final out of Friday's game against the Padres to earn his first save of the season. He allowed one hit.
He got Wil Myers swinging to preserve a one-run lead after Cincinnati jumped out in front in the top of the 11th. It was Lorenzen's fourth career save. Raisel Iglesias, the team's primary closer, worked the ninth in a tie game. Lorenzen has seen quite a bit of time in mop-up duty this season -- he does not have a hold through eight appearances.

Adam Wainwright SP | STL
Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Comes up short against Mets
Wainwright (1-2) took the loss Friday, giving up four runs (three earned) on eight hits and three walks over three innings while striking out three as the Cardinals fell 5-4 to the Mets.
After back-to-back quality starts, Wainwright struggled in this one, throwing only 48 of 86 pitches for strikes before getting an early hook. The veteran right-hander will carry a 4.74 ERA and 19:9 K:BB through 19 innings into his next outing Wednesday, at home against the Brewers.

Anthony DeSclafani RP | ARI
Reds' Anthony DeSclafani: Strong outing in San Diego
DeSclafani allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision against the Padres on Friday.
DeSclafani was not rewarded for his efforts with a win (and thus he remains winless on the year), but this was an encouraging outing after the right-hander was rocked for 10 earned runs over his previous two starts (8.1 innings). He did allow a homer to Fernando Tatis Jr., bringing his total allowed this season to five, but DeSclafani induced 10 swinging strikes on 80 pitches and worked around errors in the second and fifth innings. Up next is a home start against Atlanta.

Jordan Lyles RP | KC
Pirates' Jordan Lyles: Departs with hand injury
Lyles was lifted from Friday's game against the Giants due to a bruised right hand, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports. He allowed four hits and a walk and struck out six over six scoreless innings and left in line for the victory.
A comebacker deflected off Lyles' pitching hand in the sixth inning, and although the Pirates still managed to turn a double play, it would end up knocking Lyles out of the contest. Assuming the injury isn't too serious, he should be in a good position to make his next start Wednesday against Arizona.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Fans 11 in first victory
Hendricks (1-3) secured the win by striking out 11 over seven scoreless innings Friday against the Diamondbacks. He allowed three runs and two walks.
Hendricks turned in his most impressive outing of 2019 to this point, blanking Arizona through seven frames while receiving more than enough run support to earn his first win. The 29-year-old has held his opponents to two or fewer runs in three of his four starts, although the issue has been his ability to work deep into ballgames. His longest outing entering the day had been five innings versus the Angels. Hendricks will carry a 3.54 ERA with 21 punchouts over 20.1 frames into his next start, which looks to come Thursday against the Dodgers.

Merrill Kelly SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Merrill Kelly: Suffers second loss
Kelly (1-2) took the loss after surrendering three runs on six hits and seven walks while striking out five over 3.2 innings Friday against the Cubs.
It's truly amazing that Kelly didn't allow more than three runs to cross the plate, considering he issued a season-high seven free passes. The Cubs got two runs in the second inning and tacked on another in the fourth, effectively ending Kelly's outing. The 30-year-old right-hander racked up 109 pitches in just under four innings of work. Kelly will search for a better result his next time out, which lines up for Wednesday against Pittsburgh.

Jacob deGrom SP | TEX
Mets' Jacob deGrom: Heading to IL
DeGrom (elbow) will be placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
DeGrom isn't set to undergo an MRI until Monday, but the Mets will act with caution here by placing their ace on the injured list due to "mild soreness." As a result, he's been scratched from his scheduled start Saturday against the Cardinals. DeGrom will be available to return April 26 against the Brewers if his imaging results bring good news.
-
Chase Anderson RP | TEX
Brewers' Chase Anderson: To act as primary pitcher Saturday
Anderson is expected to serve as the primary pitcher for Saturday's game against the Dodgers, although he may not start, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Milwaukee isn't expected to call up any additional pitching for the clash, and it looks as though skipper Craig Counsell will treat it as a bullpen game, with Anderson at the center of it all. The Brewers used openers at various times down the stretch of the 2018 campaign and in the postseason, so they're no strangers to the concept. Expect Anderson to handle the bulk of Saturday's innings, even if he doesn't start the contest.

Tony Gonsolin RP | KC
Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin: Missing start with injury
Gonsolin was placed on the 7-day injured list Friday with a side injury, Jacob Unruh of The Oklahoman reports.
Gonsolin is only expected to miss one start for Triple-A Oklahoma City due to the injury, which popped up during a recent bullpen session. The 24-year-old has a 3.00 ERA and a 12:5 K:BB in nine innings over his first two starts at the Triple-A level.

Jacob deGrom SP | TEX
Mets' Jacob deGrom: Undergoing MRI on elbow
DeGrom (illness) is heading to New York for an MRI on his elbow Friday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
DeGrom's elbow apparently started acting up while the pitcher played catch Friday. His scheduled start Saturday against the Cardinals now appears to be in doubt while the Mets await test results to see whether or not he's in line for a longer absence.
