Johnny Cueto SP | LAA
Giants' Johnny Cueto: Diagnosed with mild flexor strain
Cueto was diagnosed with a mild flexor strain Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. He will be reevaluated in a week.
Cueto was nearing his return to the Giants' rotation before suffering a setback in Monday's rehab start with High-A San Jose. The veteran hurler was removed with forearm tightness, but after further examination, he was officially diagnosed with a mild flexor strain. Cueto suffered a flexor strain in 2015 with the Reds and was only sidelined for one game, but fellow Giants pitcher Matt Cain missed the first two months of the 2017 season with a similar injury. The Giants are confident that Cueto will be able to return to the rotation later this season.

Chase Anderson RP | TEX
Brewers' Chase Anderson: Scheduled to face hitters Friday
Anderson (oblique) successfully completed a bullpen session Tuesday and will face live hitters in a simulated game Friday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Anderson continues to inch closer to a minor-league rehab assignment. If all goes well with Friday's appearance, he could embark on his rehab stint as early as next week, although more details should emerge once he gets over his current hurdle.

Adam Wainwright SP | STL
Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Set to miss another start
Wainwright (back) threw off flat ground Tuesday but will not be ready to start Wednesday's contest with the Brewers, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
The veteran hurler was hoping to gear up for Wednesday's start, but the Cardinals will instead hold him back a bit to reduce the risk of re-injury. Luke Weaver will start in his place Wednesday, but look for Wainwright to try to return for Monday's series opener with the Royals.

Stephen Strasburg SP | WAS
Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Unlikely to make next start this week
Strasburg (elbow) is not expected to be ready to start later this week, Jorge Castillo of The Washington Post reports.
Manager Dusty Baker said that Strasburg would likely need to throw a high-intensity bullpen session or simulated game prior to returning, and since that hasn't happened as of Tuesday, it's unlikely that a Thursday or Friday start is in play. He still could return to the fray next week if everything goes as planned, but things will depend on when he can get his arm back into game shape. A.J. Cole is expected to fill the void in the rotation until Strasburg is back in action.

Yu Darvish SP | SD
Dodgers' Yu Darvish: Slated to start Friday
Darvish will make his Dodgers debut Friday against the Mets, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
He will throw a bullpen session Wednesday to prepare for his first start in nine days. Darvish was rocked for a career-high 10 runs over 3.2 innings in his final start in a Rangers uniform, and Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reported that Darvish was tipping his pitches in that outing. Assuming he irons out those issues, Darvish should return to frontline form in short order.

Adrian Houser SP | SF
Brewers' Adrian Houser: Returns to game action
Houser (elbow) has begun a rehab assignment with the Brewers' Arizona League team.
Houser was sidelined for just over a year after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2016, but he has recovered from both his elbow injury and the procedure, and has been cleared to resume pitching in games. He will have a chance to move up a level or several before the season comes to a close, but the Brewers will surely be cautious with him the rest of the way.

Kyle Wright SP | CHC
Braves' Kyle Wright: Earns promotion to High-A
Wright was promoted to High-A Florida on Tuesday, Sam Dykstra of MiLB.com reports.
The No. 5 overall pick breezed through his first three professional appearances with the Braves' rookie-level Gulf Coast League affiliate, so he'll skip a level and try his hand against Florida State League competition. As a polished right-hander who played at one of the top college programs at Vanderbilt, Wright could have a quicker path to the big leagues than many of his fellow pitchers that were first-round selections in June's first-year player draft. Wright probably won't receive much more usage during the remainder of the 2017 campaign, however, as he had already amassed 103.1 innings with Vanderbilt this season prior to being drafted.

Yu Darvish SP | SD
Dodgers' Yu Darvish: Won't debut until later in week
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts indicated that Darvish will make his team debut no earlier than Thursday's game against the Braves, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Prior to being traded to the Dodgers on Monday, Darvish had been listed as the Rangers' probable starter for their game Tuesday, so the right-hander has already had his normal four days of rest in between starts and could be used as soon as Roberts wishes. With capable options in Kenta Maeda and Alex Wood on hand to start the next two games, however, the Dodgers can afford to let Darvish take the time to get acclimated with his new team. The arrival of Darvish likely means that Brock Stewart, who entered the rotation last week for the injured Clayton Kershaw (back), will move back to the bullpen or to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

MacKenzie Gore SP | TEX
Padres' MacKenzie Gore: Dazzles through first three rookie-ball starts
Gore tossed four scoreless innings for the Padres' rookie-level Arizona League affiliate Monday, giving up one hit and no walks while striking out five batters.
Gore has been flawless through three appearances in rookie ball, giving up no runs in eight innings and posting an immaculate 13:1 K:BB. The No. 3 overall pick looks like he could be ready for higher-level competition, but as a left-hander who just wrapped up high school in the spring, the Padres likely won't aggressively push him through the system. Expect his innings to be monitored carefully for the rest of the season.

Johnny Cueto SP | LAA
Giants' Johnny Cueto: Leaves rehab start with forearm tightness
Cueto left Monday's rehab start for High-A San Jose with forearm tightness and will be evaluated Tuesday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Forearm tightness is often a precursor for some of the worst news a pitcher can get. Cueto was supposed to return to the rotation Saturday, but at this point, don't hold your breath for good news.
