  • Jerad Eickhoff SP | PIT

Phillies' Jerad Eickhoff: Tosses quality start in no-decision versus Red Sox

Eickhoff allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits and two walks across six innings in a no-decision Monday against the Red Sox. He struck out six.

Eickhoff allowed a multitude of baserunners in the second and third innings, as he first allowed the three earned runs, then tacked on an unearned tally as Jackie Bradley came around to score following an error in the fourth. He still threw the ball quite well, hitting the strike zone at a 67 percent clip, and the six strikeouts were his highest total since May 16. Quality starts have been hard to come by for Eickhoff, as this was just his second such feat since ihs third outing of the season, and it lowered his ERA to an uninspiring 5.09. The right-hander has yet to taste victory for the first time in 2017 and will look to nab that elusive win Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

  • Jacob deGrom SP | TEX

Mets' Jacob deGrom: Goes all nine in dominating fashion versus Cubs

DeGrom (5-3) surrendered one run in a complete-game victory Monday against the Cubs, allowing five hits and four walks with six strikeouts.

DeGrom kept the ball down to great effect in this one, as he induced a whopping 17 groundball outs, with his only real mistake on the night coming in the form of a solo home run by Addison Russell in the seventh inning. The walk total was among his highest of the season, but he still threw 69 percent of his pitches for strikes en route to his first complete game since last July. This dominating performance was especially welcome for deGrom and his fantasy owners because he had allowed 15 earned runs over his previous eight innings, and he'll look to carry this momentum into Sunday's matchup with the Nationals.

  • Pirates' Jameson Taillon: Activated ahead of Monday's start

Taillon (groin) was activated from the disabled list and will start Monday's game against the Rockies.

As expected, Taillon is back with the big club to make his first start since undergoing surgery for testicular cancer around five weeks ago. The 25-year-old, who owns a 3.31 ERA through six starts this season, will face off against Kyle Freeland and the Rockies in a home tilt. Phil Gosselin was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding roster move.

  • Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA

Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Could return over weekend

Hendricks (hand) was cleared to resume throwing on the side Tuesday, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Hendricks was reexamined Monday, and apparently everything checked out, as he's now expected to resume throwing, putting him one step closer to rejoining the big-league rotation. Barring any setbacks, Hendricks said he could be back for this weekend's series against the Pirates.

  • Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR

Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Struggles against Reds on Sunday

Ryu only lasted four innings Sunday, giving up four runs on six hits while striking out five in a 9-7 win over Cincinnati.

The veteran southpaw has now turned in two four-run outings after looking sharp in his previous two starts. Despite appearing to be healthy, Ryu has been far more homer-prone (1.9 HR/9) than he was in his successful first two seasons in the majors. It would be best to only the 30-year-old only in deep formats or as a streamer in favorable matchups. That said, his next start comes against these same Reds in Cincinnati on Saturday.

  • Dylan Cease SP | TOR

Cubs' Dylan Cease: Fans four in return from DL

Cease (ankle) gave up one run and struck out four across two innings in his return from the disabled list Sunday with Low-A South Bend.

Cease landed on the disabled list in late May with a sprained ankle, but Sunday's performance seemed to quell any concerns of lingering effects. With Sunday's outing, the right-hander now has a 2.75 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 36 innings on the season. The 21-year-old's bat-missing skills give him plenty of long-term fantasy appeal.

  • Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Allows four runs through four

Senzatela allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six batters during Sunday's loss to the Cubs. He didn't factor into the decision.

It's been a solid debut for the rookie: Senzatela has already earned eight wins and sports a 3.84 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 6.3 K/9. However, his 4.53 FIP suggests he might be overachieving, and pitching his home games at Coors Field could eventually begin to catch up to him. After all, Senzatela's 3.18 ERA at Coors is a sterling mark. Still, he's proven to be a serviceable fantasy option thus far. A home date with the Giants is up next for the 22-year-old righty.

  • Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Bounces back with seventh win

Wainwright (7-4) gave up two earned runs on six hits and two walks over five innings in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Phillies. He also hit a batter and struck out four.

Following a rough outing against the Reds last Tuesday, Wainwright bounced back with a solid effort, albeit one that featured a higher-than-ideal pitch count. The veteran right-hander was pulled after 84 pitches but did enough to notch his seventh victory in his last eight decisions. Wainwright has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five of his last six trips to the mound, thanks in large part to limiting the long ball, as he's given up just one home run over that span. He'll look to keep the momentum going when he takes on the Orioles on the road Friday.

  • Aaron Nola SP | PHI

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Tagged with fourth loss Sunday

Nola (3-4) took a loss after allowing three runs on four hits over five innings Sunday against the Cardinals. He struck out six and walked two.

Nola stayed out of trouble until the fifth inning, when he gave up a three-run homer to Dexter Fowler with two outs in the frame. He struggled with his control throughout the outing, ending up in a lot of three-ball counts while throwing 53 strikes and 40 balls over his five innings. He'll next face the Diamondbacks at home on Friday.

  • Robbie Ray SP | SD

Diamondbacks' Robbie Ray: Fans 12 in win

Ray (7-3) picked up the victory in Sunday's 11-1 triumph over the Brewers, striking out 12 batters in 6.2 shutout innings while scattering four walks and three hits.

Ray has now won five starts in a row and has allowed just two runs in those games (37 innings). In that span, the left-hander has struck out 48 hitters. The 25-year-old is one of the hottest pitchers in baseball and establishing himself as an upper-tier fantasy starter.
