Hicks picked up a hold in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Marlins, allowing one earned run on no hits and three walks while striking out one in one-third of an inning.

The right-hander struggled with control Sunday, throwing just six of his 20 pitches for strikes and loading the bases before being pulled. Since being moved out of the rotation in favor of Hayden Birdsong, Hicks has made four relief appearances. During that span, he owns a 5.40 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and a 2:4 K:BB across 3.1 innings.

Rays president of baseball operations Erik Neander said Sunday in an interview with MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM that McClanahan (triceps) is expected to throw his first bullpen session Friday.

McClanahan has been out all season after he was removed from his final appearance of spring training March 22 due to left triceps nerve irritation. Though Neander said that the Rays initially expected McClanahan to return from the injured list by the middle of April after follow-up tests on his arm revealed no structural problems, the nerve issue made it more difficult than anticipated for the lefty to regain strength. Just over two months after suffering the injury, McClanahan finally seems to be making some positive strides in his recovery, as he's been steadily increasing his throwing distance off flat ground in recent weeks. He'll take another important step forward in the rehab process when he gets back on the mound later this week, but he still has several more checkpoints to hit before he's activated from the 60-day IL. Neander acknowledged that "if all goes as planned from this point," McClanahan could be ready to join the Tampa Bay rotation "somewhere in late July or early August."

Sheehan (elbow) struck out five batters and allowed two hits and no walks over three scoreless innings in his rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

On the comeback trail following his May 2024 Tommy John surgery, Sheehan was cleared to kick off his rehab assignment last Monday. After striking out five batters over two perfect innings in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League in his first rehab outing, Sheehan shifted his assignment to Oklahoma City and was unfazed by the jump in competition. He induced 10 swings and misses on his 39 pitches Sunday and retired the first eight batters of the day, with the only damage against him being a bloop single and an infield single. Sheehan will likely need at least two more rehab starts to get fully stretched back out for a starting role, and if he continues to excel in his subsequent outings in the minors, he could garner consideration for a spot in the Dodgers' six-man rotation once he's activated from the 60-day injured list.

Mathews (shoulder) was activated from Triple-A Memphis' 7-day injured list Saturday.

After missing more than a month of action with left shoulder inflammation, Mathews tossed five scoreless innings with an 8:0 K:BB in two rehab outings before being activated. His first outing back in the Memphis rotation didn't go as well, as he yielded two runs with a 3:3 K:BB over 2.2 frames Saturday. The southpaw has permitted nine runs with a 10:18 K:BB in 13 innings covering four starts with Memphis this season, so he'll be looking to get back on track in June now that he has hopefully put his shoulder issue behind him.

Yamamoto (6-4) allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out two over 3.2 innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Yankees.

Yamamoto failed to complete five innings for the first time this season. He was inefficient, throwing 96 pitches (59 strikes). Yamamoto has looked like one of the best pitchers in the majors this season, but he came up short in a measuring stick matchup against one of the best offenses in baseball. He still has a 2.39 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 77:23 K:BB across 67.2 innings through 12 starts. Yamamoto's next start is projected to be on the road versus the Cardinals.

Triple-A Sacramento placed Winn on its 7-day injured list April 22 due to an unspecified injury.

Winn didn't pitch after late June in 2024 after undergoing an ulnar nerve transposition procedure on his right elbow, but he was given a clean bill of health heading into spring training. After falling short in his bid for a spot in the Giants' Opening Day rotation, Winn was optioned to Sacramento, with whom he posted a 5.91 ERA over three starts before being shut down. He's now missed nearly six weeks with the injury and has yet to begin a rehab assignment.

Castillo didn't factor into the decision Sunday against Minnesota, allowing four hits and two walks with five strikeouts over six scoreless innings.

No runs were scored until the seventh inning of Sunday's contest, leaving Castillo without the victory despite the excellent outing. The 32-year-old has now logged four consecutive quality starts, and he owns a 1.44 ERA and a 22:5 K:BB during that stretch. While his strikeout rate is down from 9.0 K/9 in 2024 to 7.2 K/9 in 2025, Castillo holds a 3.03 ERA, which would be his best since 2022. He's expected to pitch next weekend against the Angels.

Paddack didn't factor into the decision Sunday against Seattle, allowing one run on four hits and one walk over eight innings. He struck out 10.

Paddack threw 110 pitches Sunday, and despite notching his fifth career start with double-digit strikeouts and allowing merely one run, he didn't receive enough run support to land the win. Paddack blanked the Mariners until the seventh inning when Cal Raleigh clubbed a solo home run. In his last five starts, Paddack has a 1.64 ERA and a 26:4 K:BB over 33 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Blue Jays his next time out.

Bradley (4-5) took the loss Sunday against Houston, allowing one unearned run on three hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out 10.

Bradley and Hunter Brown were locked into a pitchers' duel Sunday, with the duo combining to allow just four hits and zero earned runs. So, a fielding error by Junior Caminero followed by an RBI single by Christian Walker was enough to give Bradley his third loss in his last four starts. Bradley has allowed fewer than three earned runs in six of his last seven starts, and he's now thrown seven innings in back-to-back outings. On the year, Bradley has a 3.95 ERA and a 64:27 K:BB over 70.2 innings. He's on track to face the Marlins next time out.

White (finger) struck out three and allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk over two innings in his start Friday with High-A Beloit.

White was out of commission for three weeks due to a left index finger injury, but he was cleared to slot back into the Beloit rotation Friday, albeit on a limited workload. Through seven starts at High-A this season, the 20-year-old southpaw owns a 3.33 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 40:17 K:BB over 27 innings.
