Holmes (elbow) began his throwing program Monday, Grant McAuley of the Marietta Daily Journal reports.

Holmes has already been ruled out for the remainder of this season after he was diagnosed with a partially torn UCL in his right elbow in early August. The goal is for the righty to continue to ramp up his throwing over the next two months and head into the offseason and spring training without restrictions. However, given the nature of Holmes' injury, the possibility of setbacks are there.

Arrighetti will receive a second opinion on his injured right elbow this week, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Arrighetti told reporters last week that his UCL was intact and he would not require surgery. That's presumably still the case, but more should be known about his course of treatment after he receives a second opinion. Arrighetti has been out for all of September and is not expected back before the end of the regular season.

Walter will undergo surgery on his left elbow this week, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

The specifics on the nature of the procedure aren't clear, but more should be known after the surgery takes place. Walter was terrific this season when healthy for the Astros, collecting a 3.35 ERA and 52:4 K:BB over 53.2 innings covering nine starts. If it's UCL surgery that the 29-year-old needs, he would likely be out until the 2027 season.

The Astros recalled France from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday.

France allowed one run over five innings in his last start at Sugar Land. He had pitched in relief in his three appearances prior to that, and the Astros plan to deploy him as a multi-inning reliever.

Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino said that Kremer (forearm) played catch Sunday and will do so again Tuesday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Kremer was removed from his start in Friday's 2-1 win over the Dodgers after three innings due to right forearm soreness. An MRI came back clean, and while he will miss his next turn in the rotation, the hope remains that Kremer could avoid a stint on the 15-day injured list.

Henderson (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Sept. 16, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Henderson is on the 60-day injured list while recovering from a right flexor strain, an injury that occurred in early August. However, he's made progress in his recovery and the Brewers are hopeful that the rookie right-hander will be available at some point during the postseason.

Kolek is slated to start Thursday's game against the Guardians at Progressive Field.

With Seth Lugo (back) recently joining Cole Ragans (shoulder) on the injured list, Kolek will stick around with the Royals to make a second turn through the rotation following his call-up from Triple-A Omaha last Thursday. During his start in this past Saturday's 11-2 win over the Twins, Kolek went seven strong innings and struck four batters while permitting two earned runs on six hits and one walk. He now maintains a respectable 3.88 ERA over 92.2 innings between San Diego and Kansas City, though it's supported by a weak 9.3 K-BB%.

The Astros are expected to recall France from Triple-A Sugar Land during their series in Toronto that runs through Thursday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

France's last appearance with Sugar Land was a start, but his three outings prior to that came out of the bullpen, and he's expected to fill a multi-inning relief role with Houston. The right-hander missed the first half of this season while recovering from shoulder surgery and holds a 6.38 ERA and 23:20 K:BB over 24 innings during his time with Sugar Land.

Mazur is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Nationals in Miami.

Mazur had initially been lined up to start this past Sunday's series finale versus the Phillies, but Miami ended up going with an impromptu bullpen game led off by right-hander Tyler Phillips. Since the Marlins were able to stay away from Mazur in relief that day, he'll end up taking the hill for Tuesday's contest. Through his first three starts with Miami this season, Mazur has gone 0-2 with a 5.74 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 12:5 K:BB in 15.2 innings.

Sugano said Tuesday that his right foot hasn't swelled up as much as anticipated, and he expects to be ready to make his next scheduled start, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Sugano was lifted from Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Dodgers after being struck on the foot by a comebacker, but the injury doesn't look like it will cost him any additional time. The right-hander is tentatively schedule to start Sunday's game in Toronto.
