Ray allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out eight over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Rangers on Saturday.

Both runs allowed came on sacrifice flies by Jake Burger over the first three innings. Ray was able to have his longest start of the year thanks to an efficient performance, which saw him throw 69 of 97 pitches for strikes. The one walk matched his season low, while the eight strikeouts equaled his season high. He's taken three straight no-decisions but still doesn't have a loss through six starts (3-0) in 2025. Ray is at a 3.73 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 33:19 K:BB over 31.1 innings. He'll look to build on this strong outing in his next start, which is projected to be at home versus the Rockies.

The Mariners placed Gilbert on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to a right elbow flexor strain.

Gilbert underwent an MRI on Saturday which revealed a Grade 1 flexor strain, per Daniel Kramer of MLB.com. The good news is that the injury strain isn't more severe, but Gilbert will not throw for the next two weeks before being re-evaluated to determine the next steps in his recovery program.

McDermott (lat) will begin a rehab assignment at Double-A Chesapeake on Sunday, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

McDermott has been on the injured list all season due to a right lat strain that he suffered in February. He's been facing hitters at the team's complex in Florida for the past several days and has now been given the green light to test his lat in a competitive setting. Because he missed nearly all of spring camp, he will likely require several starts in the minors before being activated off the IL.

The Orioles optioned Young to Triple-A Norfolk following the Orioles' 4-3 loss to the Tigers in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.

Young took the loss in the matinee, allowing three runs on four hits and five walks while striking out six in 4.2 innings. Young started two games for the Orioles, and his move to Triple-A indicates that Kyle Gibson (back) could make his season debut next week. Grant Wolfram was recalled from Norfolk in a corresponding move.

The Tigers added Montero to their roster as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader, and he will start the nightcap against Baltimore, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

The Tigers didn't use Montero out of the bullpen during Game 1, so they'll give the 24-year-old his third start of the season Saturday. He's allowed eight earned runs over 9.1 innings in the majors so far this season but will have a decent chance to bounce back against an Orioles offense that ranks 20th in the majors with a .692 OPS.

Kopech (shoulder) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Thursday and is scheduled for another Monday before potentially being cleared to face live batters, Benjamin Royer of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The right-hander's throwing program stalled in late March due to a shoulder impingement after he came into camp with some forearm inflammation, but he's now nearing the latter stages of his rehab program. Kopech will likely require a few rehab appearances in the minors before rejoining the Dodgers, so he's likely still at least a couple weeks away from being reinstated.

The Rays transferred McClanahan (triceps) to the 60-day injured list Saturday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

McClanahan won't be eligible to return until May 26 after initially landing on the 15-day injured list due to an inflamed nerve in his left triceps. His 40-man roster spot will be given to Travis Jankowski, who was acquired in a trade with the White Sox on Friday.

The Reds recalled Richardson from Triple-A Louisville on Saturday.

With Ian Gibaut (shoulder) bound for the injured list, Richardson will come up from Triple-A to help bolster Cincinnati's bullpen depth. The 25-year-old righty owns a 4.15 ERA and 1.08 WHIP through 13 innings at Louisville this season, but he'll likely be limited to low-leverage situations, given his career 9.35 ERA in the majors.

Woodruff (shoulder) tossed five scoreless innings Thursday in his latest rehab start at Triple-A Nashville, striking out five batters while allowing two hits and no walks.

After making his first rehab start at Triple-A on April 12, Woodruff moved to High-A Wisconsin for his second outing April 18 before linking back up with Nashville this week. Though the 32-year-old threw 61 pitches Thursday -- seven fewer than his previous start with Wisconsin -- he was highly efficient, facing just two batters over the minimum. After missing the entire 2024 season while recovering from September 2023 capsule surgery on his right shoulder, Woodruff's fastball velocity has been hovering a tick or two below pre-surgery levels during his rehab assignment, but Thursday represented a major step forward in terms of regaining command. The right-hander is likely to make at least one more start in the minors before potentially returning from the 15-day injured list to make his 2025 debut with the Brewers in early May.

The Angels selected Fermin's contract from Double-A Rocket City on Saturday.

Fermin is one of the top relief pitching prospects in the minors, standing an intimidating 6-foot-3, 242 pounds and possessing an electric fastball/slider combo. He had a 1.13 ERA, 0.50 WHIP and 15:1 K:BB in eight innings at Double-A.
