Rea (1-0) earned the win Friday over the Phillies, allowing three hits and two walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

Making his second start in place of Justin Steele (elbow), Rea turned in five strong innings against the Phillies en route to his first win of the season. The 34-year-old Rea has gotten off to a nice start this year, both as a starter and out of the bullpen. His ERA is down to 0.96 with a 1.07 WHIP and 19:3 K:BB across 18.2 innings. Rea's currently slated to face the Pirates on the road in his next outing.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that an MRI on Snell's left shoulder revealed "no new findings," and the 32-year-old southpaw will receive an injection to help treat the inflammation, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports.

Snell was shut down from his throwing program Tuesday after suffering a setback. He's been on the 15-day injured list since April 6 due to left shoulder inflammation, and what was once hoped to be a brief stint on the IL has become more complicated. How Snell's shoulder reacts to the injection will determine the next steps in his rehab program.

Ragans was diagnosed with a mild left groin strain Friday, Jaylon T. Thompson of The Kansas City Star reports.

Ragans was pulled from his start Thursday after three innings due to his groin injury. Manager Matt Quatraro said Friday that the team will hold off on putting the left-hander on the injured list for now and instead wait a few days to see how he responds to treatment. Ragans is tentatively scheduled to make his next start Tuesday against the Rays and could avoid missing a turn through the rotation if his condition improves by then.

Scherzer (thumb) threw a bullpen session Friday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Scherzer tossed 27 pitches off the mound Friday, and Blue Jays manager John Schneider said it was a "step in the right direction" for the veteran right-hander. Scherzer will continue to throw bullpen sessions as he works his way back from a right thumb injury, but a timeline for his return to Toronto's rotation won't be clear until he embarks on a rehab assignment.

Houck and the Red Sox will not face the Guardians on Friday, as the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

Friday's game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday, with Houck starting in Game 1. Houck has a 7.66 ERA and 1.66 WHIP through 24.2 innings this season, mostly due to his outing against the Rays on April 14 when he yielded 12 runs (11 earned) through 2.1 frames.

Mize and the Tigers won't face the Orioles on Friday, as the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

Friday's contest will be made up Saturday as part of a doubleheader, and Mize will start on the mound in the early game, per Evan Woodbery of MLive.com. The 27-year-old righty will be looking to maintain his strong positive momentum during his next outing, as he currently boasts a 2.22 ERA and 0.95 WHIP through 24.1 innings across his first four starts this season.

Young and the Orioles will not face the Tigers on Friday, as the game was postponed due to rain, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

The two teams will make up Friday's contest as part of a doubleheader Saturday, and Young will take the mound for Game 1. Young made his major-league debut against the Reds on April 19 and did not factor into the decision, allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out three over four innings.

The Diamondbacks recalled Diaz from Triple-A Reno on Friday.

The right-hander is one of Arizona's top prospects and will receive a look in the majors after beginning the campaign at the Triple-A level. Diaz has a 5.82 ERA and 19:15 K:BB across five starts with Reno this year but is likely to work out of the bullpen while up with the Diamondbacks.

Armbruester underwent right lat surgery Friday, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

The Orioles have not provided a timetable for the right-hander, but it's possible the surgery ends his 2025 season. Armbruester moved to the bullpen at Triple-A Norfolk this season and had allowed two unearned runs with a 7:3 K:BB over 5.2 frames.

Weathers (forearm) will begin a rehab assignment Sunday, Fish on the Farm reports.

It's not clear what affiliate Weathers will be assigned to, but he is ready to pitch in games after suffering a left flexor strain late in spring training. The left-hander had been hoping to rejoin the Marlins' rotation in the first week of May, and while that might be optimistic, his recovery shouldn't take much longer than that. Weathers is coming off something of a breakout 2024 in which he posted a 3.63 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over 16 starts.
