Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Monday that Wrobleski will be called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start Tuesday's game against the Nationals in Washington, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Wrobleski and Landon Knack will both join the Dodgers this week to fill the two openings in the rotation caused by Blake Snell (shoulder) landing on the 15-day injured list and by the team electing to add a sixth starter to the mix. The 24-year-old lefty previously made eight appearances (six starts) for the Dodgers in 2024, going 1-2 with a 5.70 ERA,1.38 WHIP and 26:16 K:BB across 36.1 innings. Wrobleski was sharp in his lone outing for Oklahoma City this season, striking out three over 5.2 scoreless innings last Tuesday.

The Astros transferred Garcia (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for right-hander Logan VanWey, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Sugar Land. Garcia's timetable is unchanged as a result of the transaction, as he will remain shut down from throwing until early May and isn't on pace to be ready to handle a starting role for the Astros until at least early June.

Scherzer resumed playing catch Monday but said that he's still experiencing "lingering tightness" from the cortisone shot he received in his injured right thumb, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

Scherzer is working his way back from thumb inflammation, an issue that first surfaced in spring training before he suffered an aggravation March 29 in his season debut. Monday marked the first time he threw since receiving two cortisone shots in his thumb last week, but he'll need more time to recover before his next throwing session. The Blue Jays have yet to provide a definitive timeline for Scherzer's return.

Snell revealed Monday that he had been dealing with left shoulder inflammation for the past three weeks before landing on the injured list Sunday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Snell thought he could pitch through the issue and that it would eventually subside, but he was unable to get through his last bullpen session, necessitating an IL move. The southpaw hopes to miss only a couple weeks of action, but it would not be a surprise if the Dodgers exercise more caution with their $182 million investment. Los Angeles will expand its rotation to six men this week, and Justin Wrobleski and Landon Knack are expected to be recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to fill the two openings Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.

Bruns is recovering from a back injury in extended spring training, Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports.

He will be assigned to an affiliate once cleared. Bruns has failed to make significant improvements to his below-average command since entering pro ball and walked 15.6 percent of batters at High-A last year.

The Red Sox selected Stock's contract from Triple-A Worcester on Monday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Stock will provide the bullpen with some length following Sunday's doubleheader against the Cardinals. The 35-year-old made one start and one relief appearance at Worcester, tossing 8.1 scoreless frames with a 12:3 K:BB. Stock has not made an appearance at the big-league level since 2021.

Forcucci (elbow) should make his pro debut late this season, Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports.

Forcucci had Tommy John surgery in June, and if all goes perfectly during his rehab, he would have a chance to pitch in games in August or September. The hard-throwing righty could also be a candidate to head to the Arizona Fall League to make up for lost time.

The Tigers' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate placed Swanson on its full-season injured list March 19 while he recovers from Tommy John surgery, Sam Dykstra of MLB.com reports.

A prep righty out of Washington, Swanson received an over-slot $722,500 bonus after being selected in the ninth round of the 2024 First-Year Player Draft. His innings will need to be monitored anyway next season, so the Tigers will likely give him plenty of time to recover before he makes his professional debut sometime next summer.

The Marlins recalled Bellozo from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.

Bellozo will make a spot start Monday against the Mets in place of Sandy Alcantara, who was placed on the paternity list. The right-handed Bellozo held the Pirates to one run over 4.1 innings in a start on March 29 but will face a better lineup this time around. He's likely to be sent back down to the minors after the game.

Single-A Lakeland placed Massey on the 7-day injured list with an undisclosed injury, Sam Dykstra of MLB Pipeline reports.

Massey, a 22-year-old righty, has yet to make his pro debut after the Tigers selected him in the fourth round last year.
