Waldron managed to get through two scoreless frames before being tagged for a run in the third. He then fell apart in the fourth, as the Twins pounded him for seven runs on seven hits, including two doubles and a homer. Waldron was allowed to return for the fifth frame but retired just one batter before he was pulled after giving up another run, and the final tally against him came after he departed. The knuckleballer has been knocked around in each of his past three starts, giving up a combined 22 runs over 14.1 frames. HIs season ERA has jumped from 3.79 ERA to 4.79.

Myers allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five over four innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Myers was inefficient, requiring 89 pitches (59 strikes) to get through four frames, matching his shortest start since the All-Star break. On the bright side, he kept the ball in the yard for a third straight start. Myers is now at a 2.87 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 90:27 K:BB through 103.1 innings over 20 appearances (19 starts) this year. Fatigue shouldn't be an issue just yet -- the rookie right-hander threw 140.2 innings overall in 2023 and is at just 122 frames across all levels in 2024. He's tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Giants.

Woods Richardson (5-3) earned the win over San Diego on Wednesday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over five innings.

Woods Richardson kept the Padres off the scoreboard until Donovan Solano got to him for a solo homer in the fifth inning. The righty hurler didn't pitch beyond that frame since he racked up 101 pitches, but he cruised to an easy victory with Minnesota's offense supplying 10 runs of support while he was in the game. Woods Richardson has notched a win in consecutive starts for the first time as a big leaguer, and he's given up just five runs across 17 frames across his past three outings. He's projected to face Atlanta at home in his next start.

Gibson allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Brewers on Wednesday.

Gibson induced three double plays over the first four innings to cover his mistakes. The Brewers broke through for single runs in the fifth and sixth innings, and Gibson left with the game tied at 2-2. He's posted just two quality starts over six outings since the All-Star break, allowing a total of 18 runs (17 earned) across 34.2 innings in that span. For the season, the veteran right-hander has a 4.22 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 126:52 K:BB through 136.1 innings over 24 starts. Gibson's next start is projected to come at home versus the Padres.

Webb allowed two runs on five hits and no walks while striking out six batters over eight innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Wednesday.

Webb got through his eight frames on just 93 pitches, 65 of which were strikes. He collected 15 whiffs among those offerings and logged his third straight quality start -- a stretch during which he's given up just three runs over 22.2 innings. Webb had a four-start winning streak snapped Wednesday due largely to a quiet San Francisco offense, but he's 5-1 since the All-Star break and hasn't given up a homer in any of his past six starts.

Crochet allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out four batters over four innings in a no-decision against San Francisco on Wednesday.

White Sox interim manager Grady Sizemore announced Wednesday that Crochet will be be on a workload limit for the rest of the campaign, so it's no surprise that he was pulled after four innings and 57 pitches. The left-hander may have gone a bit longer, though, if he hadn't faded in his final frame, allowing a pair of runs on three hits after beginning his outing with three scoreless, one-hit innings. Crochet managed a healthy 11 whiffs despite his low pitch count, and his four punchouts pushed him to 180 on the campaign. He still has a good chance to reach 200 strikeouts by the end of the season, but even that's not a given since Sizemore said Wednesday that Crochet's workload could "slowly decrease" as the season winds down.

Taillon (8-8) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Tigers.

Taillon gave up multiple homers for the third time in five starts after doing that just once in his first 17 outings this year. He gave up two-run home runs to Trey Sweeney and Riley Greene in the second inning. Taillon has allowed 20 runs over 26.1 innings across his last five starts, though he's had decent control with a 23:5 K:BB in that span. For the season, the veteran right-hander has a 3.77 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 101:26 K:BB through 126.2 innings over 22 starts. His next outing is projected to be at Pittsburgh early next week.

Fried allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out four over seven innings in a no-decision versus Philadelphia on Wednesday.

This was Fried's longest and most effective outing since he returned from a forearm injury in early August. Still, his winless skid is up to seven starts, a span in which he's gone 0-4 with three no-decisions. Fried has allowed 15 runs (14 earned) across 20.2 innings in August. For the year, he's pitched to a 3.57 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 119:46 K:BB through 128.2 innings over 22 starts. His next start is projected to be at Minnesota.

Nola allowed two runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out five over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Wednesday.

Nola gave up a two-run home run to Orlando Arcia, which was all Atlanta managed to put on the board. Nola's been in a bit of a rut, issuing multiple walks in five of his last six outings. In that span, he's allowed 13 runs (12 earned) over 34.2 innings, but he's now gone seven starts without a win. The right-hander is at a 3.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 147:41 K:BB through 159.1 innings across 26 starts this season. Nola's next start is projected to be at home versus the Astros.

Povich is scheduled to start Friday's game against the Astros at Camden Yards, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

The Orioles recalled Povich from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday as a replacement on the 26-man roster and in the rotation for Zach Eflin (shoulder), who was placed on the injured list. Povich has been largely ineffective over his nine starts with the big club this season (5.77 ERA, 1.68 WHIP, 4.0 K-BB% in 43.2 innings), but he delivered one of his better performances in his most recent outing with Baltimore this past Saturday. Though he was handed a loss against the Red Sox, he held a potent lineup to two runs on six hits and no walks while striking out six batters over a career-high 6.1 innings.
