DeGrom (elbow) threw another live batting practice session Saturday and hopes to begin a rehab assignment late next week, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

He threw his first 20-pitch live BP session Aug. 7 and it sounds like Saturday's session could be his last before he goes to a minor-league affiliate. It's unclear how many rehab starts deGrom will need before being activated, but he remains a top late-season stash in fantasy leagues.

The Orioles recalled Povich from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday ahead of his start against the Red Sox.

Povich has a 3.86 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 11 strikeouts in 14 innings over two starts for Norfolk since last getting optioned July 29. While the 24-year-old lefty has been largely successful this season in the highest level of the minors (3.48 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 89 strikeouts in 77.2 innings), he has been overmatched against big-league hitters, logging a 14.3 percent strikeout rate and 13.1 percent walk rate in 37.1 innings. With Albert Suarez expected to start Sunday, Povich may be optioned back to Triple-A after this start.

The Rays placed Littell on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to right shoulder fatigue, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Littell came away with the no-decision while allowing one run on one hit and two walks over five innings in his start Wednesday against the Astros, but he might have been plagued by the shoulder injury during the outing. The fact that the Rays are characterizing his injury as fatigue rather than a strain could bode well for his chances of avoiding an extended stay on the shelf. Left-hander Tyler Alexander was called up from Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move, and he'll likely slot in as the fifth member of the Tampa Bay rotation beginning with Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks, when he'll likely start or serve as a bulk reliever.

Skenes (7-2) picked up the win in Friday's 5-3 victory over the Mariners, giving up two runs on three hits and four walks over six innings. He struck out six.

Despite a season high in walks, the rookie right-hander still came away with his 12th quality start in 16 trips to the mound for Pittsburgh. Skenes' workload in his first full professional season may be catching up to him -- he's walked 11 batters and hit two more with pitches over his last four starts and 23.1 innings -- but the 22-year-old has still produced a solid 3.47 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 9.3 K/9 over that stretch. He lines up to make him next start at home next week against the Reds, and the Pirates could move to a six-man rotation over the final weeks of the year in order to provide young arms like Skenes and Jared Jones (lat) some extra rest.

Gilbert (7-9) took the loss Friday, giving up four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks over 6.1 innings as the Mariners fell 5-3 to the Pirates. He struck out six.

The right-hander delivered his third straight quality start and MLB-leading 20th of the season on 96 pitches (58 strikes), but it took a Cal Raleigh throwing error on a stolen-base attempt by Michael Taylor in the fifth inning to keep him under four earned runs. Through three outings in August, Gilbert has posted a 1.86 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 19:3 K:BB through 19.1 innings, and he'll look to keep rolling in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come on the road next week against the Dodgers.

Nola came away with a no-decision in Friday's 3-2 win over the Nationals, allowing seven hits and two walks over 6.2 scoreless innings. He struck out four.

The veteran righty got stronger as the game wore on and didn't let a runner get past second base after the first inning, and Nola left the mound after 111 pitches (74 strikes) with the Phillies out front 2-0. He had to settle for his 16th quality start of the season when Carlos Estevez blew the save in the ninth, however. Nola has gone six straight starts without getting into the win column, and his strikeouts have dried up at the same time. During that stretch, he's posted a 3.67 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 26:12 K:BB through 34.1 innings, and he's fanned more than four batters only once. Fatigue isn't likely to be a factor for the 31-year-old -- he's topped 200 innings three times in his career, and has tossed only 154 so far in 2024 -- but the Phillies may look to work some extra rest into his schedule given their comfortable lead in the NL East. Nola is currently scheduled to make his next outing on the road next week in Atlanta.

Feltner (shoulder) said that he could throw a bullpen session Saturday, MLB.com reports.

Placed on the 15-day injured list Aug. 8 with a right shoulder strain, Feltner appears to have a chance at returning from the shelf in the minimum length of time, or close to it. He said Friday that he's already resumed high-intensity throwing off flat ground, and advancing to mound work Saturday would represent another major step forward. The Rockies should shed light on the next steps for Feltner once he completes the side session.

Freeland (finger) has been cleared to start Saturday's game against the Padres at Coors Field.

Freeland said after his most recent start Sunday versus Atlanta that he developed a blister on his pinky finger during the outing, which likely played a part in him being lifted midway through the fourth inning after just 65 pitches. The southpaw was apparently able to complete his between-starts bullpen session without issue, so he's not expected to be limited by the blister when he takes the hill Saturday. Freeland owns a 5.75 ERA and 1.49 WHIP on the season but has surprisingly pitched effectively at Coors Field, logging a 3.06 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB over 32.1 innings in Colorado.

Corbin came away with a no-decision in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Phillies, giving up two runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out two.

The veteran left-hander remains stuck on 99 career wins, but Corbin wasn't efficient enough to have gotten No. 100 on Friday even if he had gotten some support from the Washington offense. The Phillies put runners in scoring position in four of the five frames Corbin worked but only broke through in the third, and he left the mound after 96 pitches (58 strikes) with the Nats down 2-0. Corbin has gone five straight starts without a win, stumbling to an 8.51 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and 20:9 K:BB through 24.1 innings over that stretch. He'll look for that elusive 100th victory in his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Rockies.

Gallen (cramps) has been cleared to start Saturday's game against the Rays at Tropicana Field.

Gallen battled general body cramps during his last start this past Saturday against the Phillies and departed after 4.1 innings, taking him out of the mix for a win in the Diamondbacks' eventual 11-1 victory. With six days to recover from that start, Gallen looks to be healthy again and shouldn't face any restrictions when he takes the hill Saturday. The right-hander owns a 3-0 record, 3.18 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 28.1 innings over his five starts since the All-Star break.
