Fedde (7-5) took the loss Friday against the Cubs, allowing five runs on six hits over five innings. He struck out four.

All five runs charged to Fedde came in the second inning -- the right-hander allowed five hits in the frame, including a three-run Christian Bethancourt homer and an Ian Happ solo shot. While he was able to finish the outing on a high note, retiring the last 10 batters faced, it certainly wasn't the debut the Cards had in mind. The five runs charged match a season high for Fedde, who posted a 2.85 ERA over his final eight starts (47.1 innings) with the White Sox. Overall, the 31-year-old Fedde sports a 3.34 ERA with a 1.14 WHIP and 112:34 K:BB through 22 starts (126.2 innings) this season. He'll look for a better result in his next outing, tentatively scheduled for next week at home versus Tampa Bay.

The Athletics transferred Medina (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Friday.

The move comes with Medina scheduled to undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery Tuesday, and the procedure will likely keep the 25-year-old right-hander out for the 2025 campaign, too. Across his eight starts this season, Medina went 2-4 with a 5.18 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 32:20 K:BB across 40 innings. The move makes room on Oakland's 40-man roster for infielder Darell Hernaiz (ankle), who was reinstated from the 60-day IL.

Rodriguez (shoulder) is expected to make his season and Diamondbacks debut Tuesday in Cleveland, John Gambadoro of 98.7 FM Phoenix reports.

Things were pointing to Rodriguez getting a start against the Guardians and now we have an exact date for the left-hander's first major-league start of the season. He's been out all year with shoulder issues but is now ready to go following a four-inning simulated game Wednesday. Rodriguez did not make any rehab starts and he had been slated to throw 65 pitches in the sim game, so he will be limited from a pitch count perspective and might also be rusty in Cleveland.

Kelly (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Hillsboro on Tuesday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Kelly threw a three-inning simulated game Wednesday, clearing the way for him to make a rehab start. It could be the only one he needs before rejoining the Diamondbacks' rotation. Kelly has been shelved since late April with a teres major strain in his right shoulder.

The Marlins recalled Bellozo from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday.

Bellozo will start Friday's game in Atlanta, taking the rotation spot vacated by Trevor Rogers, who is now with the Orioles. The 24-year-old right-hander will have a golden opportunity to prove he belongs in the Marlins' rotation for the rest of the season.

The White Sox placed Thorpe on the 15-day injured list Friday with a right flexor strain.

It's not clear when Thorpe was injured, but he had surrendered a combined 14 runs over his last two starts. Given the nature of the injury, the rookie right-hander could be in store for a lengthy absence. Thorpe has posted a 5.48 ERA and 25:21 K:BB over 44.1 innings in his first nine major-league starts.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Cole (fatigue) is throwing a bullpen session Friday and if all goes well should start Sunday against the Blue Jays, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

The 33-year-old was scratched from Tuesday's start against the Phillies due to general body fatigue, but he played catch with no issues Wednesday and is returning to mound work Friday. The Yankees have consistently downplayed any long-term concern for Cole this week, and he should have the chance to rejoin the rotation Sunday after skipping just one start.

Mize (hamstring) will throw a live batting practice session Saturday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

It will be his first time facing hitters since going on the injured list in early July with a strained left hamstring. Mize will not be eligible for activation until early September after being shifted to the 60-day IL earlier this week.

Rodriguez (shoulder) has joined the Diamondbacks in Pittsburgh and appears on track to make his season debut next week in Cleveland, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Rodriguez had been slated to throw a four-inning, 65-pitch simulated game Wednesday and it appears he came out of that with no concerns. The left-hander could make his season and Diamondbacks debut as soon as Monday, although the club might choose to keep Zac Gallen on turn that day and give Rodriguez the ball Tuesday. If Rodriguez starts either of those days, he would be in line for a two-start week.

The Mets optioned Megill to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

He's clearing out to make room on the roster for trade-deadline acquisition Paul Blackburn, who has officially been added to the roster. Megill will join the rotation at Syracuse to stay stretched out in case he's needed for a start in the majors during the final two months.
