Cannon allowed a run on three hits and four walks over six innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out three in the loss against Miami.

Cannon kept the Marlins off the board until the fourth inning when he coughed up an RBI double to Vidal Brujan. Cannon hadn't walked more than two batters in any MLB appearance this season prior to Sunday's outing. He issued only three free passes over his previous 25.1 frames. Despite the shaky command, he bounced back after giving up 11 runs (eight earned) over his previous two starts. Cannon lowered his ERA to 4.20 with a 35:11 K:BB through 45 innings. He's currently lined up for a home start against the Pirates next weekend.

Cabrera yielded two runs on four hits and a walk in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out four during Miami's win over the White Sox.

Cabrera made his first MLB appearance since May 7 after a two-month stint on the IL due to a shoulder issue. He looked solid through three scoreless frames before coughing up a two-run homer to Danny Mendick in the fourth inning. Cabrera walked just one batter but struggled to command the strike zone, throwing just 47 of 82 pitches for strikes. He's now sporting a 6.84 ERA with a 35:15 K:BB through 25 innings. Cabrera's next outing is projected to be in Cincinnati.

The Marlins transferred Weathers (finger) to the 60-day injured list Sunday.

The left-hander has been shut down from throwing due to an index finger strain since he landed on the shelf June 8, so he was already likely to be sidelined for 60-plus days. Weathers is expected to be re-evaluated soon, and he could be back with the Marlins sometime in August if cleared to resume throwing after that evaluation.

Skubal (10-3) allowed one run on three hits over seven innings to earn the win Sunday against the Reds. He struck out 13.

Skubal was dominant once again Sunday as he recorded a new season high in strikeouts and allowed one run or fewer for the 10th time in 18 starts. The lefty now has a stellar 2.37 ERA and 132 strikeouts across 110 innings this year, which earned him his first All-Star selection Sunday as well. Skubal has been an excellent fantasy asset, and he's set up to make one more start before the All-Star break, likely on Friday against the Dodgers. It's a tough matchup, but the Detroit ace should remain locked into lineups the rest of the way.

Littell (3-6) allowed seven runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out five over four innings to take the loss versus the Rangers on Sunday.

Littell mostly had things under control until the Rangers erupted for six runs in the fourth inning. He left with a 7-2 deficit, and the Rangers continued to find success against the Rays' bullpen, leaving Littell to take his first loss in four starts. He's had one bad outing in each month of the season, but he's given up four or more runs just four times in 18 starts. The right-hander has a 4.44 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 91:17 K:BB through 95.1 innings. Littell will look to bounce back versus the Guardians in a challenging matchup at home next weekend.

Gibson (7-3) earned the win Sunday over the Nationals, allowing three runs on nine hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out eight.

Gibson got through the first five innings surrendering just two runs but allowed the first three hitters to reach in the sixth before getting pulled. The veteran has won three of his last four starts and has had quality starts in four of his last seven outings. The 36-year-old has helped stabilize the Cardinals rotation -- he has a 3.96 ERA and 1.29 WHIP through 97.2 innings.

Woo (hamstring) threw 45 pitches and allowed two runs on a hit with two walks and two strikeouts over 2.2 innings during his rehab start with High-A Everett on Saturday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

The 24-year-old rejoined the Mariners on Sunday, but manager Scott Servais was non-committal on whether the right-hander will require an additional rehab outing. The club wants Woo to be able to cover at least four or five innings before being reinserted into the big-league rotation, so it wouldn't be surprising if he's sent on another rehab outing to further build up his workload before being activated.

Eovaldi (6-3) earned the win Sunday over the Rays, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out five without walking a batter over seven innings.

Eovaldi limited the damage to a two-run home run by Jose Caballero in the third inning, and the Rangers generated plenty of offense to counter that. This is the third start in a row in which Eovaldi has completed seven innings, though it was a small step back from his one-hit outing versus the Padres last Tuesday. The right-hander has a 3.10 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 85:26 K:BB across 87 innings through 15 starts this season. He's projected for a road start in Houston his next time out.

Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Sunday that Assad (forearm) could be activated from the injured list prior to the All-Star break, Mike McGraw of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.

The right-hander landed on the shelf in late June with a strained forearm, but he wasn't shut down from throwing for long and had a bullpen session Friday. The Cubs have a doubleheader Saturday in St. Louis, and that would be a logicial point for him to be re-insterted into the rotation ahead of the All-Star break.

Herz (1-3) took the loss Sunday against the Cardinals. He allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits, two walks and four strikeouts over 4.1 innings.

Herz pitched a clean first and third inning but ran into trouble the rest of the time before getting pulled in the fifth. His rollercoaster rookie campaign continues as he's scattered impressive starts, like the two with double-digit strikeouts, with rough outings like the one on Sunday. The 23-year-old has a 5.17 ERA with 41 strikeouts over 31.1 innings this season.
