Stone (9-2) picked up the win over the White Sox on Wednesday, allowing four hits and no walks in a complete-game shutout while striking out seven.

Stone was spectacular Wednesday, matching his season high with seven strikeouts en route to recording the first complete game of his major-league career. The right-hander retired the side in order in five of his nine frames and didn't allow a runner to reach second base outside of a leadoff double from Gavin Sheets to open the second. Stone has now won each of his last five decisions (spanning six starts) and has also posted at least six strikeouts in five of his last six outings. Furthermore, Wednesday marked the first time that he didn't walk a batter in his last five starts.

Curry (0-2) allowed two runs on three hits and struck out one without walking a batter over three innings, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Orioles.

This was Curry's first appearance since he was recalled from Triple-A Columbus on Monday. He spared the Guardians' bullpen in Wednesday's contest, but solo home runs by Cedric Mullins and Ryan O'Hearn were enough to stick Curry with the loss. The right-hander has struggled in limited major-league action this year with a 5.74 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB over 15.2 innings across four appearances (three starts). Given his poor results, Curry could be optioned out again whenever Cleveland needs a fresh arm.

Gil (9-3) took the loss against the Mets on Wednesday, allowing five runs on four hits and four walks while striking out two batters over 4.1 innings.

Gil was stung by both hard hits and walks -- three of the four knocks he allowed went for extra bases, and he also surrendered four free passes. His final two walks were particularly detrimental, as both runners came around to score following his departure. Gil has now put forward two straight poor outings, giving up 12 runs over 5.2 innings across his past two starts. He had a 2.02 ERA and was being mentioned in discussions about AL Cy Young Award contenders after a June 14 win against Boston, but his subsequent struggles have increased is ERA by over a run to 3.15.

Eovaldi didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against Milwaukee, allowing five runs on nine hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out four.

Eovaldi had a troublesome third inning, allowing Jackson Chourio to reach on a leadoff single before letting Christian Yelich and Willy Adames get on base with two outs, leading to a Jake Bauers grand slam. The other run charged to Eovaldi came in the fourth frame, when Derek Hill couldn't make a diving catch in center field, allowing Chourio to get all the way around the bases for an inside-the-park home run. Eovaldi's five runs allowed tied his season high, and he's allowed a home run in five consecutive starts. Overall, he owns a 3.45 ERA and 74 strikeouts across 73.0 innings. He's on track to face the Padres in Arlington early next week.

Estes (2-3) took the loss Wednesday against the Angels, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks across 5.2 innings. He struck out eight.

Estes set a career high in strikeouts Wednesday but fell one out shy of a second consecutive quality start. The 22-year-old was lifted from the contest in favor of Austin Adams without having allowed a run, but Estes was responsible for a pair of runners who'd come around to score later in the inning. On the year, Estes owns a 5.24 ERA with a 39:12 K:BB over 46.1 innings. He's scheduled for a rematch with the Angels early next week.

Manaea (5-3) earned the win over the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing two hits and issuing five walks while striking out three batters over five scoreless innings.

Manaea was impressive in yielding just two hits -- both singles -- but allowed traffic in all but one of his five frames due to his struggle to throw strikes. The left-hander issued a season-high five free passes, but the Yankees bailed him out by grounding into three double plays. Manaea has been unable to pitch into the sixth inning in each of his past seven starts, though his shortish outing Wednesday was likely due to a fifth-inning rain delay after which he did not return.

Carrasco allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three batters over five innings in a no-decision against Baltimore on Wednesday.

Carrasco was decent in the outing, throwing 63 of 91 pitches for strikes and yielding a modest two runs. He recorded only four swinging strikes and three punchouts, however, and departed after just five frames. Carrasco has exceeded five innings just once over his past six starts, and he has just one victory over that span. The veteran hurler hasn't been much of a fantasy asset with a 5.27 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 54:23 K:BB over 70 innings on the season.

Rodriguez (9-3) earned the win over Cleveland on Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks while striking out four batters over seven innings.

Rodriguez was tagged for seven runs over five innings against Houston during his previous trip to the mound, but he was much better Wednesday, notching his seventh quality start of the campaign and his ninth victory. The right-hander did give up two home runs, but both were of the solo variety, and they accounted for the only scores the Guardians managed against him. Rodriguez has been good at limiting long balls this season -- Wednesday marked just the second time he has allowed multiple homers -- and he's completed at least five frames in all but one of his 14 starts. He holds a 3.72 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 89:25 K:BB across 82.1 innings on the campaign.

Herz (1-2) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out one batter over 3.1 innings in a loss to San Diego on Wednesday.

Herz made it through the first inning unscathed before giving up a pair of runs in the second. He kept the Padres off the scoreboard in the third but gave up two more runs in the fourth inning before being pulled with one out in the frame. Herz was magnificent in tossing six one-hit, scoreless frames with 13 strikeouts June 15 against Miami, but he's struggled in his two starts since, allowing eight runs (seven earned) across seven innings while notching just six punchouts. It remains to be seen whether he'll stick in the rotation when Josiah Gray (elbow) and/or Trevor Williams (elbow) return, though Herz is probably good for at least his next turn given that Washington will play on 17 straight days, beginning Friday, leading up to the All-Star break.

Cease (7-6) earned the win over Washington on Wednesday, pitching seven scoreless innings during which he allowed one hit and issued two walks while striking out nine batters.

The only hit Cease surrendered during his seven frames was a two-out single by Nick Senzel in the fifth inning. Remarkably, this was the San Diego right-hander's third outing this season during which he gave up exactly one hit in seven frames, and he unsurprisingly has picked up a victory in all three of those starts. Cease had been struggling coming into Wednesday, giving up 11 runs over his previous two starts covering 8.1 innings during his worst two-game stretch of the campaign. He's had a few clunkers among his 17 appearances this season but has solid numbers overall with a 3.84 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 125:30 K:BB across 98.1 frames.
