Brown took a no-decision in Monday's 8-7 loss at Miami, allowing six runs on seven hits and no walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out eight.

Things were rough out the gate for Brown, as he yielded back-to-back homers to Jesus Sanchez and Agustin Ramirez to open the first frame. The Chicago right-hander was then cruising, as evidenced by his impressive 16 whiffs in 83 total pitches, until the fifth inning, when the Marlins plated four additional runs. Brown's inconsistent season continues with his ERA now standing at 5.44 through 46.1 innings; however, the 25-year-old has also pitched to a 3.50 FIP and 58:16 K:BB. He currently lines up to make his next start at Cincinnati this weekend.

Lodolo (4-4) collected the win Monday at Pittsburgh, allowing one run on four hits and one walk over six innings with seven strikeouts.

After allowing a first-inning RBI double to Joey Bart, Lodolo stymied the Pirates en route to his sixth quality start of the season. The Cincinnati southpaw efficiently worked through six frames in 89 pitches, generating a solid 12 whiffs. Across 58.2 total innings, Lodolo has pitched to a 3.22 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 49:10 K:BB. He will face a much tougher test this weekend in his next start, currently scheduled to be at home against the Cubs, who have scored the second-most runs in MLB.

Keller (1-6) took the loss Monday against the Reds, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out five.

The 29-year-old notched his third consecutive quality start, all of which have been losses as the Pittsburgh offense has scored two runs over those contests, with this 91-pitch performance. Keller has been a dependable starter since a seven-run disaster against the Yankees on April 4, pitching to a 3.17 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 40:12 K:BB across 46.1 innings since then. Overall, the right-hander now sports a 3.88 ERA and 3.42 FIP through 58 frames. Keller is currently slated to make his next start at home against the Brewers this weekend.

Gipson-Long (elbow/hip) struck out three and allowed one earned run on five hits over 2.2 innings Sunday in a rehab start with High-A West Michigan.

Gipson-Long tossed 46 pitches (30 strikes) in the third start of his rehab assignment, which began May 8 with Single-A Lakeland. The right-hander is in the process of building back up after undergoing Tommy John surgery last April and left hip surgery last July, and he should be on track for activation near the end of his 30-day rehab window. Expect Gipson-Long to eventually move his assignment to Triple-A Toledo, though it's unclear if he'll do so for his fourth rehab start, which will likely come this weekend.

Rodriguez (shoulder) began a throwing program from 90 feet Monday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Rodriguez was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday with left shoulder inflammation, but his ability to begin a throwing program just three days later is a positive sign. The left-hander is eligible to return to action May 31, and it's not outside the realm of possibility that he's activated after a minimum stay on the IL.

Kopech (shoulder) will pitch at Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday and is expected to make several more appearances during his rehab assignment before being activated from the 60-day injured list, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.

Kopech got roughed up in his third rehab outing for the Comets on Wednesday, surrendering three runs on two hits and one walk while striking out one over 0.2 innings. The Dodgers don't appear to be in any hurry to bring the right-hander back from the IL, as the club noted Monday that Kopech will appear in at least three more games before being reinstated.

Giants manager Bob Melvin said Monday that Verlander is dealing with a slight pectoral issue, but he is optimistic the pitcher will make his next scheduled start Saturday versus the Nationals, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Verlander revealed after displaying reduced velocity in Sunday's start against the Athletics that he was affected by a physical issue, and now Melvin has offered more specifics on the nature of the injury. The 42-year-old hurler will presumably need to get through a between-starts throwing session before being cleared for Saturday, but at the moment the Giants don't expect Verlander to miss his next turn.

Knack will be used in bulk relief Monday versus the Diamondbacks, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

Jack Dreyer is slated to serve as an opener before turning things over to Knack. The 27-year-old Knack allowed five runs over 4.2 innings against the Athletics his last time out but struck out eight while walking only one.

Mize (hamstring) threw a five-inning simulated game Monday and is on track to return from the 15-day injured list to start Saturday against the Guardians, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

The Tigers lost Reese Olson (finger) to the 15-day IL on Monday but will get some reinforcement with Mize poised to return this weekend. Mize has been shelved since mid-May with a left hamstring strain.

The Tigers placed Olson on the 15-day injured list Monday with right ring finger inflammation, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

It's not clear when or how Olson was injured, but he showed no signs of being hurt his last time out Saturday against the Blue Jays, tossing six scoreless innings. The timing is poor, as the right-hander has logged a 1.60 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 38:11 K:BB through 33.2 innings over his last six starts. Olson will be eligible for activation June 2, but it's uncertain whether he'll be ready on that date.
