Smith had a run-scoring single in the third inning that snapped an RBI drought that grew to 10 games. The Rangers' primary second baseman did little through early in the season, going 3-for-32 (.094) with one RBI and zero runs scored over 10 games played. He's battled back since, going 5-for-14 with an RBI and two runs scored in four subsequent contests to raise his season average to .174. It appears that luck may have impacted his early-season troubles; Smith has a .211 BABIP, an expected batting average of .240 and a career-high 41.2 hard-hit percentage.

Montgomery went 2-for-3 with a double, a two-run home run and two runs scored Sunday against the Royals.

Montgomery has had a slow start to the season, with Sunday marking only his second multi-hit game and first since March 29. He started a two-out rally in the second inning with a double before coming around to score, and he popped a two-run homer two frames later. Montgomery has been a true three-outcome player across 63 plate appearances, as he's struck out 30.2 percent of the time, walked at a 7.9 percent clip and also hit three home runs.

McGonigle went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Marlins.

McGonigle smashed his first major-league homer, taking Marlins right-hander Sandy Alcantara yard in the fifth frame. The top prospect has bounced around the batting order so far, but he hit leadoff for the fifth time this year Sunday and is pushing to maintain a premium lineup spot. Through 68 plate appearances, McGonigle is slashing .322/.412/.508 with eight extra-base hits, eight RBI, one stolen base and 11 runs scored.

Story went 4-for-5 with a double, two RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Cardinals.

The shortstop entered Sunday batting .131 with a .354 OPS, so it's been a struggle for Story across the first two-plus weeks of the 2026 season. Sunday marked his first multi-hit game of the campaign, and he upped his slash line to .182/.188/.273 with the four-hit afternoon. Story singled and scored in the second inning, singled again in the third, singled to lead off the fifth and had a two-run double in the ninth to pad the Boston lead. Through 69 plate appearances, Story has one homer, 11 RBI, four runs scored and a 1:21 BB:K.

Gray went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Gray got the Twins on the board with a three-run blast off Max Scherzer in the second inning. The 30-year-old is off to an impressive start to the campaign, going 6-for-22 with three extra-base hits and 12 RBI across eight games. While it's still unclear how long Royce Lewis (knee) will be sidelined, Gray stands to benefit from the additional opportunities in the meantime.

The White Sox have discussed the option of calling up Antonacci from Triple-A Charlotte, but the team has "nothing in motion as of yet" in terms of promoting him, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.

Multiple sources reported Saturday that the White Sox were planning to select Antonacci's contract ahead of their three-game home series versus the Rays that begins Tuesday, but Levine relays that the organization has merely considered a promotion for the 23-year-old at this stage. Even if he isn't in line to get called up during the upcoming week, Antonacci likely won't have to wait much longer before making his big-league debut. He's gotten off to a sizzling start through his first 13 games with Charlotte, slashing .289/.484/.444 with two home runs and five steals while striking out just seven times in 63 plate appearances.

Allen will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Mariners, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

With Jeremy Pena sitting out Sunday after exiting Saturday's 8-7 loss due to right knee tightness, Allen will enter the starting nine for just the second time all season. Allen is regarded as a slick fielder in the middle infield, but he's a career .214/.266/.272 hitter over 391 big-league regular-season games and won't carry much fantasy appeal if Pena winds up landing on the injured list.

Pena (knee) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

The 28-year-old shortstop departed Saturday's 8-7 loss due to right posterior knee tightness. According to Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle, manager Joe Espada said Sunday that he didn't have an update available for Pena, who should be considered day-to-day as he continues to be evaluated. Nick Allen will step in at shortstop Sunday for the Astros.

Correa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Though Correa returned from a recent two-game absence due to an illness and proceeded to go 4-for-9 with a double and three runs, manager Joe Espada indicated that the veteran infielder isn't yet 100 percent, per Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle. The expectation is that Correa will be back in the lineup for Monday's series finale.

Perez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

After starting the past two games and going 0-for-7, Perez will hit the bench and give way in right field to Zach McKinstry. Given that McKinstry has mustered a lowly .537 OPS through 37 plate appearances, Perez should still receive plenty of playing time while Parker Meadows (arm/concussion) is out of action.
