Anderson isn't in the White Sox's lineup Sunday against Milwaukee.

Anderson is slashing just .188/.278/.219 since the beginning of August, so he'll get a day off for Sunday's series finale. Elvis Andrus will shift to shortstop in Anderson's absence, allowing Zach Remillard to start at second base and bat ninth.

Pena isn't in the Astros' lineup Sunday against the Angels, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Pena has been red-hot at the plate lately, slashing .333/.447/.385 in 47 plate appearances since the start of August. He'll get a day to rest Sunday while Grae Kessinger starts at shortstop and bats eighth.

Allen isn't in Oakland's lineup Sunday against the Nationals.

Aledmys Diaz will fill in at shortstop while Allen rests Sunday. The 24-year-old infielder is slashing .308/.333/.577 with two homers and four RBI since the start of August.

The Tigers placed Baez (knee) on the bereavement list Sunday.

Baez had been a candidate to go on the bereavement list for nearly a week following the recent passing of his grandfather, but he ended up starting in four straight games before he was scratched from the lineup ahead of Saturday's 6-2 win over the Red Sox due to a sore right knee. Baez apparently suffered the injury Friday, and he'll now get some added time to heal up while he returns to his native Puerto Rico to attend his grandfather's funeral and mourn with his family. Per MLB rules, players must spent at least three days -- and no more than seven -- on the bereavement list, so Baez could rejoin the Tigers as soon as Wednesday for the team's game in Minnesota.

Velazquez hit a solo home run in his only at-bat in a loss to the Astros on Saturday.

Velazquez batted for Brandon Drury with the game out of hand in the ninth inning and belted his second homer of the year, a solo shot off Hector Neris. The speedster has seen very limited playing time of late -- this was his first plate appearance since July 30 and his first hit since he went 3-for-4 against Detroit on July 25.

Duran went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and two RBI in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Giants.

Duran also had a sacrifice fly in the contest, but he came up a homer shy of the cycle. He was in the lineup at designated hitter for a second straight game after he was hit on the hand by a pitch Wednesday. Duran should maintain a near-everyday role at least until Jonah Heim (wrist) returns to action, which could push Mitch Garver into the DH spot more frequently. Duran is slashing .282/.328/.483 with 14 home runs, six stolen bases, 42 RBI, 44 runs scored, 18 doubles and two triples over 93 contests.

Seager went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk, an additional RBI and two extra runs scored in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Giants.

Seager has five multi-hit efforts and five homers over his eight games since returning from a thumb injury. The shortstop reached the 20-homer mark for the fourth time in his career with his first-inning blast Saturday. He's added 68 RBI, 57 runs scored, 31 doubles and a stolen base while slashing .350/.410/.657 through 74 contests this season.

Basabe was called up from Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Basabe appears set to make his major-league debut in the near future after he produced a .294 average with four homers, 57 RBI, 45 runs and 16 stolen bases over 384 at-bats with Durham this season. The shortstop is one of Tampa Bay's top prospects and could be asked to play multiple infield positions while with the big-league club.

Baez (knee) is leaving the team to head to Puerto Rico for his grandfather's funeral, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Baez was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Red Sox with a sore knee, but it now appears like there may have been a different reason for his absence. The Tigers will make the move to the bereavement list official Sunday and it's unclear who will join the major-league roster for the time being.

Volpe went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a pair of walks in a 9-4 win over the Marlins on Friday.

Volpe put New York on the board with his three-run blast in the second inning. The long ball was just his second in 25 games since the All-Star break, a stretch during which he has slashed .197/.319/.316 with 11 RBI and eight runs. Volpe does have four steals over that stretch to boost his fantasy value, but he's been a batting-average drain with a .212 mark on the campaign. However, he's been able to maintain an everyday role at shortstop for the Yankees and is one of 10 major-leaguers with at least 15 homers and 20 thefts so far this season.
