  • Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Drives in two in win

Mondesi went 1-for-4 with a pair of RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 7-2 win over the White Sox.

Making his first start at third base, Mondesi had a solid performance. He didn't make any errors in the field, and his two-run single in the bottom of the third inning was enough for Kansas City to get the win. The 26-year-old has been limited to 12 games this year due to three separate stints on the injured list, but he's provided five home runs, 12 RBI, nine runs scored and three stolen bases while batting .356 in a small sample. He's more of a speed threat than a power option, and he's likely to receive regular rest days to avoid picking up another injury down the stretch.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Astros' Carlos Correa: Connects on three-run home run

Correa went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's 6-3 triumph over San Diego.

Correa was responsible for one of three hits against San Diego starter Jake Arrieta with his fourth-inning long ball to center, though that was the shortstop's only hit of the game. In connecting on the home run, Correa extended his on-base streak to 16 games, a stretch that's seen his slash line increase from .268/.361/.469 to .277/.370/.481.

  • Jorge Mateo SS | ATL

Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Hits fourth homer

Mateo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 4-3 extra-innings loss to the Yankees.

The infielder tied the game at 2-2 with his seventh-inning blast, which was his second homer as an Oriole. Mateo is up to four long balls, 12 RBI, 18 runs scored and nine stolen bases while slashing .262/.307/.411 across 180 plate appearances this year. He's found a regular role as Baltimore's starting shortstop lately, pushing Ramon Urias to third base and Kelvin Gutierrez to the bench against southpaws.

  • Rays' Wander Franco: Should be back this weekend

Franco (head) does not have a concussion and should return Saturday or Sunday against the Twins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

He exited Thursday's game with a headache and was held out again Friday, but thankfully a stint on the injured list is not in the cards. Taylor Walls will likely start at shortstop if Franco needs another day off.

  • Rays' Wander Franco: Headache still bothersome

Franco (headache) is not in Friday's lineup against the Twins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

He left Thursday's game due to a headache and was set to be monitored for concussion symptoms, so it's possible he could miss further time. Taylor Walls will start at shortstop and bat ninth.

  • Ruben Tejada SS | BAL

White Sox's Ruben Tejada: Catches on with White Sox

Tejada accepted a minor-league deal with the White Sox on Friday, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.

He will meet the Triple-A club in Norfolk for a weekend series. Tejada had been playing at Triple-A with the Phillies until being cut in late August. The 31-year-old hit .232/.342/.263 with Lehigh Valley.

  • Rays' Wander Franco: Exits due to headache

Franco left Thursday's game due to a headache, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Franco extended his on-base streak to 33 games with a seventh-inning walk, but he was replaced by Joey Wendle before running the bases. Manager Kevin Cash said after the contest Franco will be monitored for concussion symptoms and will be evaluated again Friday.

  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Rays' Joey Wendle: Not in Thursday's lineup

Wendle isn't starting Thursday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Wendle will get a breather after he went 1-for-11 with a double and a walk across his last three appearances. Taylor Walls will start at the hot corner and bat ninth.

  • Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Not in Thursday's lineup

Mondesi isn't starting Thursday's game against Cleveland.

Mondesi returned to the lineup as the designated hitter Wednesday and went 2-for-5 with a homer, two runs and a stolen base. However, Carlos Santana will serve as the designated hitter while Edward Olivares enters the lineup in right field Thursday.

  • Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Homers, steals base in return

Mondesi went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Wednesday's loss to Cleveland.

Mondesi missed over two months with an oblique injury, and he showed some rust by striking out three times in his return to action. However, the 26-year-old was dynamic when he didn't whiff. He singled in his first at-bat, was advanced to second, stole third and scored on a corresponding throwing error. Mondesi later blasted a 422-foot solo shot to left field for what ended up being the Royals' final run of the game. The oft-injured infielder could be a major factor down the stretch for fantasy managers who have patiently held onto him, particularly given his ability to rack up stolen bases in bunches.
