Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU
Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Records team's lone hit
Diaz started at second base and went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Sunday's 7-2 loss to the Mariners.
Diaz's second-inning double, Houston's lone hit, plated Carlos Correa to briefly knot the game at one run apiece. The offense could continue to slumber this week with a minor-league contingent filling in for three players unavailable due to health and safety protocols -- Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman and Yordan Alvarez. Diaz has alternated between third and second base and should continue to be an everyday presence at least through the rest of the road trip that ends Wednesday in Colorado.

Yu Chang SS | TB
Indians' Yu Chang: Multi-hit effort Sunday
Chang went 2-for-3 with a run scored in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Reds.
Both of Chang's hits were singles, and he came around to score on a Jordan Luplow homer in the seventh inning. Jake Bauers pinch hit for Chang in the ninth inning -- the two infielders have split time at first base this season, though Chang is on the short side of the platoon. The 25-year-old has no homers, two RBI, five runs scored and no stolen bases while batting .231 in 28 at-bats.

Bo Bichette 3B | NYM
Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Ends hitting drought
Bichette went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Royals.
Bichette was coming off three games without a hit, a stretch in which he went 0-for-11 with three strikeouts, but he was one of two Toronto players that reached base with a hit Sunday. He's hitting .266 with an .820 OPS through 69 plate appearances this season.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Resting after big afternoon
White Sox manager Tony La Russa said Anderson will be on the bench for the second game of Sunday's doubleheader with the Red Sox, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
Since Anderson recently returned from a hamstring injury, the White Sox don't want to overtax the shortstop by having him play all 14 innings of the twin bill. Anderson will be getting a deserved breather after he was the driving force of the Chicago offense in the 3-2 victory in Game 1. He recorded three of the White Sox's seven hits, including a leadoff home run in the first inning.

Willy Adames SS | SF
Rays' Willy Adames: Takes seat Sunday
Adames is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Adames will sit out for the second time in four games while he remains in a prolonged slump at the plate. Over the Rays' last seven contests, Adames has gone 2-for-24 with 11 strikeouts, dropping his season average to .180. Adames could end up ceding more work at shortstop to Joey Wendle -- and eventually, top prospect Wander Franco -- if he struggles to get going at the plate in his future starts.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Records four hits
Bogaerts went 4-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Saturday's win over the Red Sox.
Bogaerts extended his hitting streak to six games and has hit safely in nine of his last 10 contests, a span in which he's recorded three or more hits four times already. The 28-year-old shortstop hasn't been much of a run producer and only has four RBI in 2021, but he's seeing the ball well and is hitting an impressive .412 with a .974 OPS over his first 56 plate appearances.

Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Rays' Joey Wendle: Blasts second home run
Wendle went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Saturday's 6-3 win over the Yankees.
The 30-year-old continued his offensive hot streak Saturday when he took Jonathan Loaisiga deep for a two-run shot during the seventh inning. Wendle is 11-for-31 with one homer, three doubles, six runs and five RBI over the past eight games.

David Fletcher 2B | ATL
Angels' David Fletcher: Scores twice
Fletcher went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI in Friday's 10-3 win over the Twins.
Fletcher put together a solid night at the plate Friday. In addition to scoring the first run of the ballgame, Fletcher would come around to score again on Justin Upton's grand slam in the seventh inning. The 27-year-old Fletcher now has a five-game hit streak, raising his batting average from .194 to .237 in the process.

Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Rays' Joey Wendle: Scorching bat over last week
Wendle entered Saturday's game against the Yankees hitting .370 (10-for-27) with three doubles, three RBI and five runs over his previous seven contests.
The productive stretch includes a 3-for-5 night in the series-opening win over New York on Friday, Wendle's fourth multi-hit effort of the season. The recent surge is a notable improvement over a more muted start to the season that saw Wendle go 3-for-16 with five strikeouts over his first 16 plate appearances.

Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU
Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Starts at 3B on Friday
Diaz started at third base and went 1-for-3 with two RBI in Friday's 6-5 loss to Seattle.
Diaz should be a busy man while several teammates, including second baseman Jose Altuve and third baseman Alex Bregman, serve time on the COVID-19 protocols list. He filled in for Altuve on Wednesday, then for Bregman on Friday. The team is also without utility infielder Robel Garcia (COVID-19 protocols). Diaz should be in the lineup regularly for as long as the Astros are without their infield regulars.
