Willy Adames SS | SF
Rays' Willy Adames: On fire at Double-A Montgomery
Adames is hitting .273/.385/.503 with six homers and six stolen bases in seven attempts over 45 games at Double-A Montgomery so far this season. The Tampa Bay Times speculates he could receive a promotion soon.
Adames, who came over in the David Price deal, will have to compete with Daniel Robertson to see who the shortstop of the future is in the organization. However, Adames profiles as the better defender, so as long as the bat continues to develop as it has this year, he's in good shape to stick at short.

Carlos Correa SS | HOU
Astros' Carlos Correa: Getting day off Sunday
Correa is out of the lineup Sunday against the Angels, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The shortstop's sophomore slump has lingered longer than expected, as he's gone just 4-for-37 (.108) over his past nine games to sink his season average to .241. He's likely just getting Sunday's game off to clear his head, enabling Marwin Gonzalez to pick up a start at shortstop. Look for Correa to be back in the lineup Monday against the Diamondbacks.

Cliff Pennington SS | CIN
Angels' Cliff Pennington: Activated off DL on Saturday
Pennington (hamstring) was activated from the 15-day disabled list Saturday.
A hamstring injury landed Pennington on the DL earlier in May, but he was able to return after the minimum 15 days with his activation Saturday. He won't immediately rejoin the lineup, however, as the Angels will give Gregorio Petit the nod at shortstop against Dallas Keuchel.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Bogaerts tallies three hits in Saturday victory
Bogaerts went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and three runs scored in Saturday's 10-9 loss to the Blue Jays.
The 23-year-old's outstanding season got somewhat lost in the shuffle during teammate Jackie Bradley's 29-game-hitting streak, but Bogaerts has now hit safely in 21 consecutive games himself. He's slashing .394/.429/.577 in 104 at-bats during May, which has raised his season average 61 points to its current .351 figure.

Francisco Lindor SS | NYM
Indians' Francisco Lindor: Homers in losing effort against Baltimore
Lindor was 1-for-3 with a home run and a sacrifice fly in a losing effort against the Orioles on Friday night.
Lindor has turned in a strong performance during the month of May and now has a .319 average to go with four home runs and 22 RBI. Often hitting in the three hole provides him with plenty of opportunities to contribute, so while he is not a huge power threat, he can give his fantasy owners some production across all categories.

Cliff Pennington SS | CIN
Angels' Cliff Pennington: Set for activation from DL
Pennington (hamstring) will be activated from the DL on Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
He showed the Angels enough in just two rehab games with High-A Inland Empire to convince them he's ready to return to the major leagues. Brendan Ryan was designated for assignment in anticipation of Pennington's return. Pennington is hitting just .217/.294/.370 this season, and with Gregorio Petit faring well of late, the 31-year-old may be relegated to a utility role upon activation.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Expected to play Thursday
Bogaerts, who hurt his right thumb Wednesday, is expected to be available Thursday, the Boston Globe reports.
The injury was initially reported to be a hand injury, but now we learn that the thumbnail on his right thumb bent back a bit while applying a tag at second base on Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez. He was replaced in the final two innings of Wednesday's game by Marco Hernandez.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Hits fifth homer before being replaced
Bogaerts went 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk and two strikeouts before he was taken off due to injury Wednesday against the Rockies.
Bogaerts was removed from the game for the final two innings, but he left his mark with a solo shot during the fifth. Bogaerts has been hot of late, as the 23-year-old is riding an impressive 18-game hitting streak. He's also hit .406 during May.
